  2. OK people .... a date for the diary ..... Friday 14th Oct, meet up in the city. Skyline bar at Crown, it isn't the most fantastic but it's quiet so good for gassing, and plenty of other bars in the place to move onto. Will be the day after my b'day so a good excuse to have a few cheeky sherbets 7.30 pm onwards, look forward to seeing you there Jade
  3. Hi all, I'm moving to Brisbane on my own next month I have a job to come out to, but would like to make new friends in Brisbane can anyone give any advise on ways to do so. Neil
  4. Hey All Just wondered if anyone fancied going to Brisbane Open Air Cinema at South Bank to see The Rocky Horror Show Saturday 14th May? The tickets are $12 each if you get the early bird or $17 after the early bird offer. Doors open 5:30pm with show starting around 7pm, theres food and a licensed bar also. Thinking it might be a really good laugh especially as some folks might dress up. Dressing up is not compulsory though lol!!!!! Happy to swap mobile numbers to arrange meeting up with folks. Here's the link for more info: http://www.moshtix.com.au/event.aspx?id=45664&ref=openair&skin=848 if the link doesn't work just type in Brisbane Open Air Cinema. Cheers
  5. Hi All, As promised here’s a brief update on what’s been happening with the Aussie Dollar over the last week. GBP/AUD slumped to a 13-year low against last week with the Aussie buoyed against a broadly weaker Sterling by hawkish comments on interest rates from the governor of Australia’s Central Bank. Glenn Stevens, RBA chief, lifted speculation of rate hikes to come after saying the current rate of 3.00% was an emergency measure and normal levels would be a “good deal north” of this. The Central Bank slashed Australian interest rates to record low as it moved to cushion the economy from the global financial crisis, but recent strong data has prompted its easing bias, setting the stage for eventual rate rises. This was highlighted after Australian consumer confidence climbed for a third month in August to a near two-year high and demand for domestic home loans rose for a ninth straight month in June last week. In Australia, a thin data calendar will give way to Tuesday’s RBA minutes of the August board meeting, expected to give some insight into when we might see some monetary tightening. In the UK, recent Unemployment figures showed a 13 year high which had a negative effect on the Pound as they suggest that the deterioration in the labour market is yet to show signs of stabilisation. AUD Movement – High’s & Low’s of last week (10/08/09 –14/08/09) High’s: 2.0068 Low's: 1.9584 A movement of 2.47% Difference on £200,000 High: 401,360 AUD Low: 391,680 AUD Difference of: 9,680 AUD. Whilst FX isn't the most thrilling of subjects, the sooner you begin to think about your money transfers, the more likely you are to make your money go further. Regards Jon Sermon HiFX

    Flying out on 14th November

Hello, everyone unfortunately we've been so busy preparing for the move I haven't had as much time as I would like to chat with all of you lovely people. This maybe one of my last posts before we get to the otherside, packers are coming tomorrow and won't have any internet access either. Doggies Alfie, Poppy and my namesake Monty are all flying out on the 11th November and we are flying out at 22:05 on the 14th November from Heathrow. Feeling quite tired and emotional and other times totally ga ga . I just want to say a BIG THANKYOU to all of you wonderful people who have been there for us since the start of application. You've been amazing, supportive and made life bearable during the low points of endless waiting and medical backlogs!!!!! This site and the people on it have been an absolute Godsend. Thankyou all. To all of you still waiting, hold on to your dreams. Lots of Love Montyx
