  6. Hi everyone, We all know how difficult it is to get quality xmas cards in Perth, not anymore! I have masses of UK hallmark Christmas cards for sale, mainly priced at $2.50 or 5 for $10 for standard size, but also smaller ones at $1 and some large cards at $3. There are various generic and relative cards to choose from. If anybody is interested I will be at waneroo swapmeat @ waneroo showgrounds, Sunday 14th November. If you can't make it but would be interested, PM me and let us know what you are looking for and we will see if we can help. Thanks Tim.

New Bikes for Xmas or not??

We are hopefully moving out to Oz in February and my husband really wants to buy our girls new bikes for Christmas. Given that they won't get much use outside before they are packed away in the container is it a good idea? They will obviously be steam cleaned prior to packing but knowing how strict customs are is it worth it?
  8. what does everyone think, is it better or worse? we are half way through our summer holidays and just like the last 2 years the weather isnt being very kind to us :mask:, but how does everyone feel about having the kids off at a very busy time for us mums, when we are trying to get everything ready for the big day, buying pressie, wrapping the lot up and getting the shopping in order, its hard enough with out having all the kids at home, if you are already there, lucky you, but how does it work and if like me not yet there what are you thoughts, i only thought about it the other day when i was welling to bash all my boys, ok it was a rainy crap english day but even sooooooooooooooo:arghh: well please tell all
  9. Hi All Just a reminder that the Perth Christmas in July dinner at Munja Gardens on 28th July at 7pm needs to be RSVP'd by Sunday evening on the PIO Calendar. I will be contacting the venue on Monday 20th July to confirm numbers. So far there are 6 people going. Would be nice to see a few more - single, couples or groups of friends. Great menu - all listed on the PIO Events and meetups calendar in detail. Cheers Julia

    Holiday home at Xmas

Hi everyone Friends of ours are visiting over Xmas from about 11th December 2009 to 9th January 2010. They are two adults and three kids. They want somewhere relatively close to us (we are in Sandhurst) with a pool. I have explained this may be tricky, 1. because of the time and 2. our location, however, if you dont ask.... Anyway, just thought I would see if anyone knows of anything? Do you have anything Kate? Was hoping someone was going away for Xmas and wanted to make some money on their own home - possibly wishful thinking!!! We have offered that they stay with us buut they want a place of their own (we are horrible anyway)!! Thanks :notworthy: Rach

  16. Just some pictures of the Xmas day meet. More to follow
  17. Firstly :emoticon-signxmas: EVERYONE on PIO, sorry bit late but internet access is not good in our motel, yep Motel, the size of a garage, even got the bare block walls and three of us in it. But who cares we are finally here and nove into our rental on the 30th of Dec. Infact the motel is'nt anything special but it's Ok and it got a lovely setting and lovely pool and gardens, it's 5mins down the hill from lovely Buderim and cheap, it's only cost us £200 a week for 3 of us which is alot less than anywhere else wanted for the xmas period. we got a microwave and there is a barbie in the garden. But after the traumas of the last month we can't wait till we get our own space. Xmas day was strange but great, strange cos the weather, bout 30 degs, but great as we had barbie on Kings beach, Caloundra with our friends Dalrren and Kim (Kdal) and their family which is one of the reasons we wanted to get out here, to start enjoying our free time. Got to get a job now but fingers crossed things are looking up. Oh!! And thanks for those posts of encouragement from those who gave it, believe me they do make a difference, especially when we were stuck in Bangkok.:yesxmas: Keith

    Merry xmas from the pants!

Lisa and I just wanted to wish everyone a good one.We have one more in the UK before we are off! Cant wait. A bit of gossip! This is my 7th Xmas despite being 41.How you may ask? Well I was one of those sad ****** that ruined your xmas day by knocking on your door and tried to talk to you about the bible.I was a jehovahs witness! In fact I was given an advent calender the other day by a witness. I waited till the 1st December to open the first door, cracked it open and there were two of them behind it! We hope next year brings whatever you are striving after. JOHN AND LISA

    Xmas greetings xx

  20. Just wanted to say how much I wish everyone on this site a merry Xmas. Also wanted to say thanks for being there ...both when I obsessed about getting here and then when homesickness hit with a bang. This site has motivated me, picked me up when I was down and reminded me of different points of views and perspectives whenever I have felt stuck for what ever reason so a big :emoticon-signxmas: and see you in the New Year .. Drive safe, keep safe and dont forget the suncream:coolxmas:

  25. hi, we are doing all the certifying of docs on thursday and want to send the TRA by Friday.... AT LAST!!!!:laughxmas: hopefully it will be there on the 24th, ........but I checked the TRA website, they are closed until the 2nd, ....so do you think I will be safe to send it now, or should we wait until the new year? We thought maybe rather send it now, as lots of people will send early next year, so we are first in line??? Just scared it will get lost somewhere ... we are sending with DHL doc express (interparcel). anybody else sending docs to TRA or in OZ just before xmas? Is this company good over peak times? does it still take 3 days? Thanks!
