Hi, We are planning on making the move down under in July 2010. My OH is an accountant and we were wondering how easy it would be to secure a job before we leave, or will we have to go out blind. If so how easy will it be to secure a job when we get there? We are looking at Brisbane. He is 15 years post qualified ACA. He has specialised in both Financial and Commercial Accounting with large retailers on high street, internet, catalogue and telephone selling, currently in information technology sector as a Group Financial Controller. Hi My boyfriend and I have just moved to Perth. He's aussie but has been living with me in the UK for the past 4 years and now we've decided to settle in Australia. We're currently staying with his mum but would be interested in any house sitting in 2011 so that we can save up for buying a place of our own (and to give us a chance to have some time away from his mum's place). We've done house sitting before and can provide references. We're both self employed and work from home (although I often go into the office in the city) so would be around most days to look after any pets etc. Only requirement we need is internet access in the house for work and we'd prefer somewhere for 2 weeks or longer. I'm 31, he's 30. If anyone is going away / back to the UK for a long period and would like their home looked after by a responsible couple, then please get in touch! Thanks, Jo and Seb

Hi, We are moving to Melbourne next year on a 457 visa, but my daughters boyfriend is following us a few months later and i believe the best way for him to come would be on a Working Holiday Visa. Is this the case? And if so what is the criteria for him? Does he need funds or just a return ticket? Once we are there we will apply for permanent residency and providing we acheive this can we then sponsor her boyfriend should he wish to stay? Also he has a sports degree and whilst he is on his WHV is it possible for him to look for an employer who may sponsor him in the sports industry? One more question if we don't acheive permanent residenecy before his visa runs out can he apply for a second WHV or extend the one he has? We have been in Oz now for nearly 3 months, and love it so much we have bought a house in Mount Eliza, and are due to move in at the end of Jan. However, we just assumed that all the schools would have a before school club. None of the ones in Mount Eliza do. Since we are two working parents, we need before school care from 7:45am to 9am (when school starts) for our 5 year old son, who is due to start prep in Feb. We know nobody in the area (we are moving to Mount Eliza from Rowville where we are currently renting). We have applied for Home Based Carers (childminders) but they are not hopeful. The school has said we can put an advert in thier newsletter for other families who may be able to help out, but this will not be out unitl next March. We have even written to the Regional Educational Director to try and get our son into another school which provides before school care. Is there anybody who is able to help us with before school care for our son, or can anyone recommend anyone who can help, or know of any home based carers who currently have vacancies and can do school drop-offs? :arghh:

Hi, My partner is a carpenter builder with work in central Brisbane (usually no more than 5km from the CBD). Work is predominantly renovations on Queenslanders. He is looking for a carpenter to start working with him from mid Januray 2011. You will need to have your BSA license or very close to getting it, have your own vehicle, at least the majority of tools needed and public liability insurance. As the work is central Brisbane you will alo need to live a maximum of 10km from the CBD. You will need to be motivated as the ideal would be to find someone to grow with the company. Hi There!! I am moving back over to Sydney in the next couple of weeks. I've already lived there for 2 years, and I'm returning while applying for a defacto visa with my boyfriend (who has ozzy citizenship) We will probably be living around the inner-west area, although we have not found a place yet. We have been in Brisbane for about 8 weeks now and I'm finding it hard to get work. I'm willing to do just about any sort of work, I have a Fork Lift license, Volvo L90 license, (loading shovel) Tugmaster license,(roro shipments) and Bobcat experience. I spent 18 years working on Ipswich docks in the UK. I have renovated 2 houses in the UK and have a wide range of knowledge and experience in DIY skills. I have also ran my own computer repair business and excel in building, reparing, upgrading, networking and installing PC's. Hello, I am moving to Perth next year in Janurary. My mum and dad booked the flights today for the 13th. They think it would be a good idea for me to meet new people before i move there. I am 12 years old. My hobbies are Gymnastics and Dancing a bit of football with my little brother "Ben" he is 9. His hobbies are football and addicted to his XBox. We would like to meet new friends on arrival. We will be living on Rockingham beach for 2weeks, when we first get there to find a place to stay schools etc....Hope some people reply....
