Hi all, I am confused by the Vetassess Group C category for pre-qualification employment experience, specifically the wording here: "*If employment is prior to the completion of the qualification at the required level, an applicant must have at least one year of highly relevant employment at an appropriate skill level within the last five years. The remaining three years of pre-qualifying period may be within the last ten years. A positive assessment of both qualification level and employment duration is required for a positive Skills Assessment outcome." I am looking to apply for Conference/ Event Organizer. I have spent the last four years in this role in Australia (self-employed) and I am currently studying a Diploma which I will finish in December of this year. My question is.. Do I need to wait until a year Post Qualification... or is my four years of experience + my Diploma awarded at the end of the year all that is necessary for positive skills assessment. The wording has got me confused. I know it does say "Pre-qualification" on Vetassess, but the phrase appropriate skill level is ambiguous. Thanks so much for your assistance.
  2. Hi, I am currently on a subclass 482 dependent visa working as a plant & equipment valuer in a reputed organisation in Australia. My organisation is willing to sponsor my PR (186). However, since I have less than 3 years of experience in Australia, they have asked for a positive skills assessment. I understand that a valuer is a category A occupation and VETASSESS requires a positive skills assessment in both education and experience. I have around 4 years of experience as a valuer across different organisations in India and Australia but I have not undertaken a formal study in the field of valuation. I am a Mechanical Engineer and have post grad degree as an MBA. Would VETASSESS consider my application without a formal study undertaken in the field of valuation? Separately, a lot of work that we do is for accounting and taxation purposes for the client. I have tried applying with CPA for skills assessment as an accountant but they have noted that I do not meet certain criteria and have asked me to complete a foundation exam on Financial Accounting and Reporting. Does the different authorities CPA, CAANZ and IPA have different criteria of judging? Do they talk to each other if I were to apply a skills assessment with different authority? What is the best way out of it?
  3. Hi, I am planning to apply for my 186 DE. I have three years of full time experience in my relevant field, which is in medium term list. I did my skill assessment with vetassess and they deducted 1 year of my experience and it’s showing 2 years in the letter. 186 DE requires 3 years of experience but it doesn’t say that it should be on the vetassess letter, it just says that you need a positive skill assessment. My agent says that it will be fine as the department will count the three years of work experience I have. can someone please suggest that will this be fine, as I do have full three years of experience?

  5. Hello Friends, I am currently onshore in Australia and trying to apply for PR under 190 subclass. My occupation is "Mathematician". I need to have a positive assessment from Vetassess before I apply for 190. I have done my PhD in Mathematics from an Australian University in 2020. Currently I am working as teaching associate and diploma teacher at two different Universities/Tertiary Institute respectively. My job of teaching associate is more than 2 years and the diploma teacher job is less than a year. The teaching asscociate job had started during my PhD. However, prior my PhD, I have done my Masters in Mathematics from India which is also a valid qualification for assessment I think and thus might use my both jobs as post-study work. However both the jobs are sessional. So I was wondering if anyone can share experience, if any, of Vetassess assessment with sessional jobs? Thanks in advance

    HR Manager/Advisor - vetassess/AIM

    Hey Guys Just looking for anybody with any experience proving their skills as a human resources advisor or manager to vetassess or AIM. My Wife is currently a HR manager with no degree, a CIPD level 5 and almost 5 years experience (20 months she will have 5 years experience). She ticks all the boxes of the highly relevant tasks for both a manager and and advisor, I will try to keep this into as little questions as possible. What documentation/evidence do each assessor require? Do they need verbal or written confirmation from an employer or is clear documentation fine? as her current employers are unfortunately quite likely to sabotage this is given the opportunity to do so. In terms of job tasks she qualifies now however her official title before being promoted to the manager position was not a manager or advisor but an assistant (official tasks still tick all the boxes) could this be used now as possible experience? I look forward to any feedback you guys can help with. thank you all

    Vetasses technical interview Chef

    Okay my name is Gary i have a vetassess technical interview tomorrow 7th of August I have been a chef nearly 13 year's and I am nervous about what's going to happen i know i should relax and study a little bit but my mind wonders the worst anyways since I can't find any help anywhere about anyone doing a vetassess technical interview i will give an update after i finish my one so I can let chef's know what to expect when they go in any hows wish me luck i keep yous posted.
  10. Hi all, I'm new to poms in Oz and have been searching the forums to find a recent hairdresser thread. I have just sent off my skills assessment to Vetassess after a lot of work and stress getting it all together, feeling relieved now that it has gone but now worrying in case I have missed anything or haven't provided something very important! Any other hairdressers or tradies out there that are currently going through this? And does anyone know of current vetassess wait times and what is involved for a positive assessment and technical interview? Thanks in advance Vicki.

  12. Hi, I did my Bachelors in Medical laboratory technologist in Nepal. I have a 2 years of work experience in Microbiology department in a private laboratory back in Nepal and my job position was Laboratory technologist. I came to Tasmania 2 years ago and I recently graduated in masters in Microbiology. I am going to apply for skill assessment as a microbiologist. My duties and responsibilities as a lab technologist in micro department exactly matches the Job description of Microbiologist provided by Vetassess. Now my question is, are there any chances of getting negative result just because my job position was Laboratory technologist although my area of specialisation was microbiology. I am afraid if vetassess gonna reject my application as I have seen some applications being rejected just because the title of the position was not matching.
  13. Hello, I am planning for VETASSESS skill assessment. I have the following documents to support my employment claims 1. Experience letter 2. Payslips (for the entire duration of my employment) 3. Job contract 4. Salary certificate 5. Relieving letter 6. Joining letter However, because I had some financial discrepancy with the bank, they are refusing to issue the bank statement for the period of employment. Should be really concerned about the absence of bank statement. I work in the Middle East (UAE) and there is no tax on personal income. Looking for answers from experienced ones Thanks and regards
  14. Hi, My partner and I would really appreciate any help with skilled visas for Plumbers. I have so many questions and I keep getting told different things. We're wanting to go down the route of skilled migration as a Plumber in Australia. We have both lived in Australia previously for 4 years (I was sponsored) but left due to family reason back at home in the UK. So, my partner has a NVQ level 2 in plumbing (Not a level 3). Do you know if NVQ level 2 is enough of a qualification for a Plumber? He has over 5 years plumbing experience in the UK, and 2 years plumbing experience in Australia. We've been advised that to pass VETASSESS you need to have either Gas or Roofing experience. However, he doesn’t have much experience working with gas and no experience in roofing. My partner is currently completing a Gas course to get the knowledge, would this be enough for VETASSESS? Please can you give us some information about how hard or easy the test was for you. Any tips, advice or guidance would be great. Thank you in advance for your help. Jeanette
  15. I got negative assessment for being my tasks are not highly relevant with the occupation applied for; Financial Investment Adviser (222311). My manager intentionally did gave them an opinion which knocked me off Just applied for a review of that decision! anyone did this before? Do they turn their decision??
  16. Hi I used this forum lots to prepare me for my practical assessment. Havin passed I thought it would try and pass on some info. There are 4 parts to the day 1) Electrical Installation 2) Written exam 3) Safe isolation/disconnect - reconnect 4) DOL motor control circuit 1) The first part is defo the easiest, just like a shortened version of the AM2. My tip is to look at the drawing and draw the installation on the board first, using the correct measurements. You will be required to test your installation afterwards and fill out a test sheet. 2) The written exam can be difficult, it's all about trying to remember what you did back at college. here are some example questions: - a coil of wire exhibits self inductance. Inductance is measured in ? - the peak value of a sine wave with a rms value of 7.07 volts AC is ? - a lagging power factor indicates that the circuit is ? - Two 1.7 kw heating elements connected in parallel to a 230v supply will draw a current of ? - Two inductors with inductive reactance of 0.20 ohms and 0.52 ohms are connected series. The total inductive reactance is ? these questions are all multiple guess but I don't remember what the 4 options were. 3) disconnect/reconnect (safe isolation) is probably the most difficult part of the day, just because that its process that everything has to be done in order. If its not you will lose points or could fail it instantly. 4) DOL...you only need to concentrate on the control side of the circuit. The motor is already connected and just requires you to make the links between the certain connections. You also have to connect a remote stop/start. There is basically a board fitted with all the components and using a pre made male lead, connect each end into the female plugs on the board. Just work through the system methodically and you will be fine. At the end you will have to walk away whilst the assessor puts a fault on the circuit, then return and find and correct the fault. In some instances it may be easy to just pull all the cables out and start again (if you struggling to find the fault). After this you will be required to draw the control circuit that you have just wired using the symbols that are one the sheet. Im not going to lie, it's a very intense day. The assessors are not wanting you to fail but they obviously can spot a blagger. I was fortunate enough to pass first time but appreciated the help massively from sites like this. best of luck

  19. My husband and I (along with children) are very keen to emigrate to Australia from Northern Ireland. We have looked at the independent skilled migration visa and my job is on the list - Primary Health Organisation Manager. I am a GP practice manager with 5 years experience, 31 years old and have recently graduated with a level 5 diploma in primary health management. When I completed the VETASSESS application, it has been returned as a negative outcome as it says I need a bachelors degree. My husband is 41 years old and is a Scaffolder (owns his own company). He is also an Irish league footballer and is due to complete his UEFA coaching badges this month to open more avenues if possible. I am also a part time singer and own a well established wedding band in Northern Ireland and as a couple, we lease a pub/restaurant so we both have experience in this industry too. We don’t know what other avenue we can go down now that the VETASSESS has failed. Any advice would be great.

Licensed Trades - 6 years' employment experience (with no formal training) Licensed Trades - 4 years' employment experience (with relevant formal training) Can anyone pls tell me if the formal training is your academic qualifications (Diploma or Degree) ? Or formal training is a separate training done after Diploma or Degree? Thank you

I am new in this forum, By Feb 2013 we got positive assessment on 511112: Program or Project Administrator category from Vetassess. they assess 2 years of relevant job experience and one Bachelor Hons Degree and AQF Post Graduate Diploma. That time we didnt apply for EOI , now want to apply for EOI. Assessment has expired , need to renew with addition job years and employers. I Login to vetassess web account, but there is no option to apply for Renewal - expired skills assessment. Anyone here who did this before or can help me or guide me regarding this issue. Thanks.
  23. Hello forum members, I have been following this forum for a while. Thanks a lot for all the informative info. I have a question about Vetasses skill assessment for work experience while studying, if anyone could please take the time and answer I would really appreciate. I am looking to apply for skill assessment with Internal Auditor which falls under Group A and requires a minimum 1 year of post qualification work experience. I have been working as an Internal Auditor since 2012 to date. However, I completed my bachelors on December of 2017. I continued my work while I was studying full time from 2014 to 2017. I am still employed as an audit officer with the same company. So my question is will Vetasses only count my work experience after graduating from Uni or will my work experience before and while studying be counted too? A break down- working as internal auditor with the same company from 2012 till date. 2014-2017 studying at uni while working at the same time. 2018- to date still employed with the same company under the same occupation (Audit officer). Please let me know. Thanks
  24. 1) My first query is that I want to apply for VETASSESS skill assessment for Job Code 149212 - Customer Service Manager for sub-class 489 Visa but unable to get roles and responsibilities letter from my employer. If I get statutory declaration written by my supervisor that is notarized from India, do I need to get it for all designations that I hold in the company since joining or only the latest one? For ex- I joined as Domain Expert Trainee and promoted to Assistant Manager (which is my current designation) after 2 years of joining. So should the Stat Dec include only Assistant Manager roles and responsibilities or both Domain Expert and Assistant Manager. If both, then should it be on one letter itself or two different letters? Also, Should the declaration include duration/tenure for both the designations? 2) My second query is that I used to work for a bank in London, UK which I have left about 5 years ago. I tried contacting bank's HR department for the roles and responsibilities letter but they denied stating they don't have any such letter to be issued as per their policy. Now, I am back in India with no contact with my supervisor or any colleagues. I do have supporting documents such as e-mail confirmation by HR that they don't provide any such letter, my appointment letter, pay slips, experience letter, relieving letter, tax statement etc. In such a scenario, should an affidavit with a self written statutory declaration about my roles and responsibilities be accepted by Vetassess? Please suggest
  25. Good Evening, Just wondering if anybody could help with the CV format required by Vetassess for the 1st part of the application. I am just editing my cv to match the relevant style of CV they want. Also, I have been working since I left school in Ref./Air con. trade but am only getting the VETASSESS assessment for the Offshore training record to make life easier on arrival to australia as my wife is the main applicant on the 189 visa. (I know this can add 5 points if needed, Hopefully not.) Should I provide evidence back to when I left school and started in the trade? or should I just cover the minimum 5 years with my current employer for a positive result? Any help is appreciated.
