Hving a minor panic, could someone clarify for me, whether I need my skills to be assessed by TRA as well as Vetassess. I thought it was just the one (as listed on the SOL) which in my case was Vetassess, but someone has said that for the 457 it needs to be TRA- can't see how that can be the case for all occupations. Needless to say it is enough to make me panic ( at the moment it doesn't take much LOL)!!!

Hello All, I am in process of applying for skill assessment from vetassess and for that I have got my educational certificate attested from notary in Delhi, India. It has her Signature and stamp with her name and registration no. and another stamp says 'Attested photo copy' but I read in vetassess site that it shoud have the words 'certified true copy of the original'. Does they literary mean that or words 'Attested photo copy' would work please find below excerpts from Vetassess site "Copies of documents Each copy of every page of the original document must be certified separately and must show clearly: •the words 'certified true copy of the original' •the original signature of the certifying officer •the name and address or provider/registration number (where appropriate) of the certifying officer legibly printed below the signature."

Hi, Given how very particular VETASSESS are about an overseas degree being "comparable to an Australian Bachelors Degree", hopefully, someone way smarter than me will be able to help out. If I have a BSc (Hons) Occupational Health, Safety and Environment degree that was awarded by the University of Greenwich in the UK but was NOT a full time programme but, instead, was studied via distance learning over 2 years (4 semesters). The entry requirement is the NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma in occupational health and safety. I have already had my NEBOSH Diploma assessed by VETASSESS on its own and came back negative as it was not comparable to an Australian Bachelors degree which I can understand. However, will VETASSESS assess the BSc (Hons) in conjunction with the NEBOSH Diploma as being comparable to an Australian BSc?:

Hi, As someone desperately waiting to hear about my vetassess (professional not trade so no practical to do) has anyone recently been approved for a professional occupation? If so when did you submit electronically and when did you your docs arrive? Trying to get an idea how much longer mine will be. Submitted online on the 7th Jan and docs received at VETASSESS on the 14th Jan. So it was 8 weeks Friday gone since they had everything. Anyone??!! Emma :arghh:

Hi All, I've just read a thread on here which states that a full work history has to be supplied before the practical test is completed. Someone stated that their's was 30 pages long...:arghh::arghh: I really wouldn't know where to start with this and any help is appreciated.

My husband is a plumber/gasfitter and is just starting out the process for 175. I've seen on other threads that its easier to go down the 'gasfitter' route as its quicker and cheaper than doing the 'plumber' route. I've just noticed on the Vetassess website that gasfitter isnt listed as the nominated occupation list and when Ive gone onto the Australia.immi website the gasfitter and plumber are under the same number on the SOL. All v.confusing. It looks as though you cannot apply for gasfitter it has to be plumber. Correct me if Im wrong??

Hi All, My OH has been, over the last few weeks completing the Competency groups for a Joiner (ANZSCO: 331213) on a GSM 175 Visa. :arghh: He has logged in today to finish the application and it has all changed. He is unable to find all of the work he has completed so far and we have had to submit and pay $600 for stage 2 without this information. I have a few questions if anyone can help? 1. Has anyone had the same problems with Vetassess changing? 2. Does anyone know if this is correct as we have submitted it today but are now worried it's not correct? Thanks

Hello all, We are about to begin the process of going through the trade skills tests. Can anyone tell me how long it takes from 1st logging your paper based assessment to receiving your techincal/practical assessment and when are payments due for each? I was wondering whether it would give us enough time to save up for the 2nd part after the paper assessment was completed. Really want to start the process as soon as possible but we do need to begin saving for it all and I was hoping we could get the 1st part done and then save for the 2nd part and so on. I'm assuming that once you have been assessed that it doesn't have an expiry date on it so we could apply for the visa in say another 9-12 months. Anyone's advice is appreciated. Thanks Lisa In a very wet manchester

1 month short for Three Years of Overseas Work-apply Vetassess now or wait?
bananaisherb posted a topic in Visa Chat
I have all materials ready to submit my VETASSESS application, but I need another month before I can claim the 5 points for having three years of overseas work experience-apparently my work history only counts 2 years and 11 months-so do I submit my application to VETASSESS now? I suspect that by the time they start evaluating my application, I would have reached three years of employment. I have state sponsorship application on hold and needs the assessment result asap. What should I do? Thanks! -

I got positive skills assessment from Vetassess but have one question and would appreciate if someone can help me: Vetassess only mentioned my 2.5 years experience on my assessment. This experience is with current employer. But they did not mention anything about my 1 year expereince with past employer in same occupation, and another 5 years experience with a different employer. My question is whether this is normal for vetasses to do this and consider the minimum experience required for assessment? How DIAC will determine my expereince if I calim 5 points for 3 years professional experience out of last 4 years? Cheers

Hi all, I successfully got my WA state-sponsorship issued in January, all hunky-doory... but, after passing the vetassess skills test in carpentry back in 2008 and recieving my level 3 certificate in carpentry, I sent the original certificate to the immigration department instead of a certified copy. I contacted Vetassess who were very helpfull and said the certificate was issued by Victoria university and put in contact with someone there. Since then, I'm having a complete nightmare trying to get a re-issue of certificate. I recently sent the A05r form for re-issue of certificate which one person there told me to do, but now someone else has come back and said I need to graduate in October to get a re-issue!!??... I then called again and spoke to someone else who has now said I need to do something else completely differant.... The university can see I was issued the certificate on their system, and understand how I recieved the certificate through vetassess, but cant seem to get me a re-issue... Really want another certificate for job-interviews etc for when i get to oz, and also I'm applying for a permantent visa to canada, so they will proberbly want to see it too.... just wondered if anyone has had any similar problems getting a re-issue from Victoria uni??? Please help!!:arghh:

hi, I have got 10 years experience of working as a youth/community worker with young homeless adults within the community. My qualification at the moment is a NVQ 3 at AQF Diploma. I have recently been promoted to a Manager and will be completing my Professional Development Award ( Leadership and Management of Care Services). This award is an NVQ 4 at AQF Graduate Diploma. I believe that ANZSCO explain that to be employed as a youth/community worker, you require an AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2). My questions are 1, Does anyone know if this is how Vetassess will assess this? 2, What are my best Visa option, if any? The following table outlines equivalences between AQF levels in Australia and NVQ in the United Kingdom. Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF U.K. Qualification Level (NVQ & GNVQ) Certificate I Certificate II NVQ 1/GNVQ Foundation Certificate III NVQ 2/GNVQ Intermediate Certificate IV Diploma NVQ 3/Higher National Cerificate Advanced Diploma NVQ 4/Higher National Diploma Bachelor Degree Equivalent Graduate Certificate Equivalent Graduate Diploma NVQ 4 Masters Degree Equivalent Doctoral Degree Equivalent For trades and similar occupations, you need a qualification at the standard of (minimum) a Aus advanced diploma (NVQ 4 level) PLUS an apprenticeship For professional occupations, you need at least a Bachelor degree level qualification. Any information would be really appreciated thanks

I have a question about VETASSESS assessment of skills for Food Technologist. Is there anywhere I can find what subjects I should have done to be named as "Food Technologist" (under Chemist - 234211). I was looking at their official site and there is nothing said about Food Tech. Also I'm wondering what is the cost of assessment if you are overseas - on the website there are only information for domestic costs (as far as I know). Does anybody have any experiances with this? Thanks
