What are the responsibilities of a Family member immigration sponsorship?

I'm curious as to what the responsibilities of an immigration sponsorship from an uncle would be, and what the sponsoree has to do as well? His family and himself are Australian citizens, and I'm his niece looking to immigrate to Australia. I can't seem to find too much information surrounding what a sponsorship entails for this type of relationship. Help! -
Hi there... I've recently moved to Melbourne from the UK. I'm trying to track down an aloof Scottish uncle who I think may be in his 70s and last known to be living in Brisbane. Any ideas hoe I could find him? Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi all We are now looking at the 176 visa route using family sponsorship. The family i have is a step uncle. i have had it confirmed that step is fine but i have never met him. provisionaly they have agreed to sponsor us but has anyone used family to sponsor them that can give me a first hand idea of how much they are supposed to get involved. I have read all the links to immi which show what they are required to do to supports us. All being well we will be financially dependent when we go from selling our home so does that make it better for the sponsor. Sorry this is so long winded.... I know australians are really helpfull friendly bunch but how big an undertaking is it agreeing to sponsor family especially when its not very close family? i am worried that the whole process will be too much and they will change their mind about sponsoring? :wub:Michelle

Hi, my hubbys Uncle and family live on the Gold Coast, they have their own business and have lived there for over 30yrs. I cannot find any info on family sponsorship if such a thing exists. Would he beable to sponsor us and if so what does that entail? Can anyone point me in the right direction.......thank you in advance :lol: Em
