    OMG TRA Successful!!

Hi all Just thought I would share our good news in that OH's TRA application was confirmed successful today. Checked online this morning as nothing on email at work and it said completion date today but still awaiting assessment so a bit puzzled but lo and behold an email popped up this afternoon and the good news was there. It was awful as I could not cheer or celebrate in anyway as no-one in work knows what we are up to so had to wait for the office to clear at post time and I did a little jig and laughed out loud for a couple of minutes. Soooooo relieved - I can sleep again (for while at least). Guess what we are spending Easter weekend doing - completing our Qld ss application. No rest for the wicked! Very happy Sandison family

    TRA successful - AQFIII Cook

Nearly a year to the day after my husband failed his TRA as a cook, today we got a letter from TRA letting us know he has been successful!! He obtained an AQFIII through Culinary Solutions a few months ago and he passed through Pathway E. Still a long way to go but at least we're one step closer to moving to Australia.

    Tra successful!!!

I just had to share our news, I found out this afternoon on the new online tracking system that my OH passed the TRA. As a last resort he flew to Sydney before Xmas to do an AQF3 in Telecommunications, and now it was all worth it!! He is a communications linesperson, so if anyone wants to know how to go about the AQF3 please feel free to pm me :jiggy:

    Successful or not??

Hi all, just a silly question really, the answer is probably so obvious, but my OH completed his skills assessment for General Electrician on 17th Feb and we've just been on the vetassess website and it shows in green "successful" so does this mean that he has passed?? or do we still have to wait for the written confirmation to be sure....(i don't want to celebrate too early) sorry again for what is probably an obvious answer:cute:
  5. Hi, Does any one know, once your application is successful and you make the move to Australia, do you have to work within the area for which you have emigrated under? If a bricklayer was to emigrate, do they then have to work in this trade? Or can they go into truck driving? (this is just an example.) Thanks for your help! Jonathan:emoticon-signxmas:
  6. Hi Folks, Sent an email to my agent last night with some questions for her, she responded by the morning with the answers and saying that she'll give vetassess a chase up regarding my practical result. I then checked the tradeassess site and the final assessment status is now showing successful !!! No email from Tradeassess/Vetassess or my agent to confirm yet but it's good enough for me:biggrin: Gonna have a few days stress free now before launching into the next load of forms next week. All the best to those awaiting results still. Regards Martin
  7. Hi all, My hubby (Brett 25), son (4 mths) and I (Gem 26) are looking to move to Brisbane. Brett is a carpet fitter and I have a degree in Graphic Design. We have been advised that we could apply for the 457 route through Brett - all sounds great - but… my parents (dad 50 and mum 52) and young brother (12) are also considering the move. Only problem is that dad only has his Class 1 HGV license. We've been told that he could probably get a job working for the mining industry and any other kind of driving job is pretty much a no go area if a sponsor is needed. I'm looking for any HGV truckers out there who have successfully made it to Oz through this 457 route please and if anyone has any advise we'd be soooooooo grateful! We'd love to know the area that we would be needing to move (ie North or South?) and any companies that we could get in touch with please? Actually, any advise would be nice! We look forward to hearing from anyone soon to help untangle the knots of confusion in myy head!!

    Successful TRA

:wubclub: YAY we got our TRA back as successful I am so thrilled!!! Sorry but I just thought I would share my news!!!
  10. Hi Everyone, My OH is a spring maker (yes, they do exist!!) which falls under the category of Blacksmith (60 pts) on the SOL List. He needs to get his skills assessed with the TRA and as there aren't that many spring makers out there we wondered whether anyone had had any difficulty getting assessed/ and or any tips or recommendations? He started at 17 in an informal apprenticeship (which his old boss will confirm in his reference) and did day release at college to get a C & G in basic engineering. He has now been in the job for 17 years (13 in the original company and 4 where he is now). We employed Beyderwellen as our migrant agent 4 years ago but after spending £1500 we realised that my OH was being told to apply as an engineer on a 40pt job and on that basis would never pass the skills assessment and we would have to get sponsorship from a relative to meet the points ......after much frustration we ditched the agent (lost our money) and our dream of living in Oz but after another trip to Sydney we decided we didn't want to give up the dream. Thats when we realised that spring maker is actually listed under Blacksmith on the immi site. There must be another spring maker who has passed the TRA and got out to Oz??????:jiggy:
