I have a question. If a state (Vic in our case) gives you state sponsorship how obliged is the CO to grant you a visa if your occupation is no longer on the CSL? When we applied we were on the MODL (remember that....happy days) but we we're not on the CSL. But VIC gave us state sponsorship. So, can the case officer still refuse us?
mullsey posted a topic in Visa ChatHello to everyone who is applying for one of the above State/Territory general skilled migration visa classes. I had some very encouraging news from Gollywobbler AKA Gill re how quickly applications with a successful State & Territory Nomination were being allocated to a case officer. I asked the same question of our agent ASA consultants who said there was no real evidence of things speeding up. I would like to start this thread for people who have appled for one of the above visa classes after the 1st Jan 2009 and if people can update it when they have any news it would help all who are still anxious on processing times. Thanks to all
Hi We applied for a 175 visa back in October 2008. My occupation is now on the CSL list, we are hoping to go to Brisbane. Today the Queensland Government issued its new skilled occupations list and my nominated occupation is on it. Could anyone possibly tell me, does the applicant actually have to work under the profession nominated, or is it flexible as is the 175? I work in two IT fields, both of which are on the list, however I specialise in one over the other and would like to know my options in the event I can't find a job. Does the 176 restrict you to work within the whole state? How long does the applicant have to stay working in the state for? Once the visa is issued, what differences are there between a 175 and 176 visa in terms of rights and entitlements as a Permanent Resident? For example, Medisure etc Many thanks D
