    Help!!!

Please help! My husband and i are desperate to emmigrate to Oz. My husband is a greenkeeper/mechanic and i am a childminder. My brother-in-law lives in Sydney and is willing to sponsor us as a family. With sponsorship and my husbands job we are 10 points short of what we need therefore would need to take the IELTS for the extra 10 points. After looking at the IELTS sample test my husband is very certain that he won't pass a couple of the sections. We really don't want to pay £300 to find this out. Does anyone have any advice or know anything else we can do?
  8. Hi all I have just read my sponsorship agreement and one of the terms say i must transver approx $20,000 to Australia  Does anyone know if WA check this or ask for any evidence.

  10. Hi folks, Me and my wife are going to arrive to OZ in Jan 13 with our 176 PR visas sponsored by WA. The thing is that we'd like to visit some other cities before we head to Perth, just to get an impression of their lifestyles and feel. I don't know how much time I want for this travel but rough estimation will be few months. My concern is not arriving straight to the nominated state. I'm afraid that this might get us into a trouble lately if we don't register immediately after our arrival? After taking a look at my State Sponsorship Agreement, I've found the following: 1. You remain living and working in Western Australia for a period of two years after obtaining your visa. 2. You keep the Wester Australia Government informed of your contact details after your arrival. Now I see that in both cases they state "After", but no specific time limit is specified. So it makes me think that our trip won't be a problem.. Even if it'll take some more time..? To say more, all this agreement doesn't seem too serious. I mean there are no dates, no specific requirements, it's not so clear how should I contact the Western Australia Government. I don't know.. This document just seems a bit odd to me.. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

  12. Hi fellow PIO people I have a question (or three) about NSW state sponsorship. I want to apply for state sponsorship as an accountant as I have a positive skills assessment from the ICAA in that occupation. My questions are: Has anyone here recently applied for state sponsorship with NSW? Do they reply within their 3 to 4 week timeframe? How strict are they? I meet their requirements in that I am a Chartered Accountant at the time of application with 3+ years experience at a big four firm in external audit - but from the sounds of things, for example, VIC is incredibly strict and rejects people left and right? Did you get a grant? Specifically, did you get a grant as an accountant? If you did, what was your work experience background? I'd really appreciate some feedback on the above as I am stressing a bit. I have to wait until January to apply for NSW SS because I don't yet meet the 3 year minimum experience requirement in my occupation. Thank you!
  13. I'm currently in Australia on a WHV and am on a 6 month contract. I absolutely love the job I work in and am really happy at the moment. The only problem is that I want to stay in Australia. I have asked about the possibility of sponsorship and unfortunately have been told the company will not sponsor anyone other than senior management, as much as they would want to. I have recently attended an interview with another company who have offered me a job. Initially in the interview they seemed really interested in retaining me and said that sponsorship is definitely a possibility and asked lots of questions about my qualifications. They have since offered me a temporary contract until my visa expires and have said they would possibly look into sponsoring me somewhere down the line but this involves a completely new interview and a series of testing and there is no guarantee. The more questions I ask, the less interested they seem in sponsoring me and HR at the new place seem very unaccommodating and quite grumpy. I wondered if anyone has been in a similar position and could offer any advice? Do I take my current employer's word they won't sponsor me or try and persuade them to make an exception? Do I take this other job on the chance that they may sponsor me, or stay at my current job knowing that at least I will be happy for the remainder of my time in Oz? I have heard that lots of employers use sponsorship as a metaphorical carrot to get and retain staff for the 6 months they can work on a WHV without any intention of ever carrying it out. I'm really grateful for any advice anybody can offer me. Unfortunately I'm not eligible for skilled migration, however there is a chance I could be eligible for state sponsorship but this requires a lot more investigation. Help ... please!!!

    calling all general nurses

Hi, I am a general nurse with seven years experience in "aged care" and looking to find a hospital/body or facility in Brisbane for sponsorship for myself, partner and daughter. I have recently learned that it is better to deal directly with the employer rather than going through an agent. I have registered with AHPRA and ready to go, so is there anyone out there who can steer me in the right direction to find an employer or body in the Brisbane area that can help. Thank you Gwen.
  15. My 33yr old husband is looking for sponsorship to gain work and a 457 visa for Perth, Australia. We would like to emigrate there with our 2 young children but want to go on a temporary visa first to ensure the move is the right one for us all. My OH has 17yrs experience as a joiner in all aspects of the trade, including 4yrs running his own business, which he currently still operates. If anyone is able to point us in the right direction then I would be very grateful. Thanks

    work sponsorship visa

hi im starting to consider a work sponsorship visa, i spoke to a recruitment company today and they said they have many carpet and flooring guys on their books earning $1500 per week on average, although this is alot less than i earn here, it still covers my cost of living in oz.................i never wanted to go down this route before but actually don't seem that bad if what he was saying is true of course. Anyone else had any experience with this kind of visa, he told me you have to work with the company for 2 years, then after that you get citizenship and can basically do what you like, is this true?...................also what about my wife?, can she work?, what about my kids?, do i have to pay for their schooling in this 2 year period?, can i still buy a house and if so do i get the grant still?, what if my wife was pregnant, does she still get grant? and healthcare? many thanks if you can help jason

    Sponsorship Jobs

For all those of you that have applied for a Sponsorship job, how long did you have to wait to hear if you got an interview or not?:err:
  19. hey there, So My Mum and me have been living in Western Australia for 1 year and 5 months now and our 2 years will be complete in november, unfortunately my mum is finding her job quite stressful and is thinking of leaving the job that sponsored us both to get a permanent residence visa. Due to our visa requirements of being in the job for 2 years will we still be able to keep the visa and still be able to apply for citizenship or will there be consequences and have to apply for another visa? hopefully someone out there can help thanks

    State sponsorship advise

:wacko:I am sooo confused...........I have my date for my IELTS, was going to use an agent but then thought I might be able to do it myself, fallen at the first hurdle I need to apply to Victoria for state sponsorship but I have read in one place that I can apply before my IELTS result and my skills assesment is complete - as long as they are ready for the end of the process On the other hand, I have read that you cannot apply for state sponsorship unless you already have these Can anyone offer any help please????
  21. Hello Can anyone offer any advice about our situation? I am on a permanent residence visa but my partner is on a sponsorship visa. We have been together for less than a year so she can't apply to go on my visa. Unfortunately her job didn't work out and it will end at the end of May. If she can't find another job within 28 days from then can she apply for a holiday visa? Has anyone out there done this and was it successful? I can afford to support both of us on my salary but I'm worried that they will only grant a very short holiday visa as they might be worried she will try to work? Any ideas or info? Thanks Rachel
  22. We have a dilemma, I have been offered two possible job offers in SA however our VISA is a 176 for WA..... Can I legally move and take up employment in SA even though my Visa is WA sponsored? I have read and been informed that I am only morally obliged to reside and work in WA....and can live / work anywhere. Is this true? Many thanks in advance....
  23. good morning my fellow poms, i have just registered on this site in the hope of obtaining some helpful information regarding employment sponsorship and whether it is enough for me to obtain temporary residence and eventually permanent residence: I'm currently working in christchurch as a painter and decorator fixing all these shaken homes. I've been working for the same employer for about 6 months now and have been offered 'sponsorship' by that employer.......by that i mean he says he is willing to offer ( and put this in writing for immigration purposes) me continuous employment if i can legally work in NZ. I'm currently on a 1 year IEP work visa which will expire in October. The occupation in question isn't on the long term shortage skills or the immediate shortage skills list, neither is it on the recently introduced canterbury shortage skills list. It is however on the ANSCO ( skilled occupation list ) however to qualify for this i may need to have trade papers ( which i don't have ) of some kind, but i'm unsure of this. I completed a dummy run of the Skilled Migrant Category Points Indicator and my score was 135 points which apparently qualifies me to submit an expression of interest to the immigration bureau.....however: A big chunk of this 135 total (50 to be precise) came from my qualification, i have a HND in graphic design which incidentally is identified as an occupation of future growth in NZ. I'm unsure as whether or not the employment offer I have has to relate to the qualification or not?........obviously a qualification in graphic design is unrelated to a job offer as a painter and decorator. Also i didn't gain any points from experience as a painter and decorator as i can't prove any, other than experience gained with my current employer ( which doesn't count for anything as it's only 6 months).....so the 50 points for my qualification is the deal breaker.....without this i'd drop below the 100 requirement mark. So that is my situation, does anyone know if i'd be successful with my expression of interest?......i'd be grateful to anyone who has any sound knowledge of my dilemma. Thanks in advance

    Employee sponsorship.........

Hi all, My fiancé and I are already in Australia, Perth to be exact. We are having trouble finding any kind of permanent employment due to our visa (which is a working holiday!!) I'm an insurance broker and my fiancé is in construction. Let me give you some background info: whilst we were in the Uk we attended an Australian Migration open day with representatives from all over Australia. We were told by these representatives that the best way to enter Australia was on a working holiday visa and then obtain employee sponsorship. Now, whilst I can understand the risk in taking us on (from the employer perspective) I didn't expect there to be a flat refusal. I suppose my question is: is this just a western Australia thing? Would it be easier to gain employee sponsorship on the east coast? There seems to be a lot of red tape over here!! Does anyone have any experiences or info on this? Equally I've got a good mind too tell the organisers of the Australian open day that they are handing out duff information!!

    Rellie sponsorship

It has just dawned on me that my uncle could sponsor me on a 475 visa and I need some advice!! Firstly could someone spell out the process for this application. I have completed the IELTS and I am currently having my skills assessed (teacher) how do I go forward after this? Do medicals and police checks need to be done before I apply for GSM? I believe that these can be done during or after is this correct? Secondly is this a stressful process for the sponsor, currently my uncle is delighted to be able to help! Are there any tips to make the process run smoothly?! All answers gratefully received!
