  6. G'day mates My company wants to sponsor an oversea candidate to work in Sydney. I'm now doing the paperwork but I don't have a clue where I should start. Some background, the person was working for an australian director before with an oversea contract and now the diretor moved back to australia and would like to apply his assistant to work in Australia. The assistant now is back to Hong Kong and doing tasks assigned by the director. Please help me out ....... I know it's easy to suggest the company/director to use an immigration agent but this idea is already banned ... and I gotta do it within 2 weeks or submit within 2 weeks time .... I have downloaded three forms, 1196S, 1196N & 1066 Form 1196S There is a question asking Labour Agreement & Standard Business Sponsorship Whats the different? And which choice will make the application goes thru easier? Regarding the "Details of training" session, there is a list of supporting documents required, what exactly are they? (training plan - how details?) (evidence of training expenditure - for the last 12 months? or 6 months?) (receipts for contribution made to an industry training fund - what is that? large amount?) Form 1196N It is very similar to 1196S, what are differences? what do we need to provide in the question 23: process we followed to determine the T&C of employment that will apply to the norminated person. Well, the norminated person was working for one of the director with an oversea contract not australian one. So what should I put? Form 1066 THe person has to have the ILETS before he fills in the form or during the process of the application?

Finding work on a tourist visa

Hi, I lived in Sydney for a year from 2010 - 2011 and used up my working holiday visa in that time. I want to go back to live there and plan to go back on a 6 month tourist visa, live with family I have there and hopefully find work with a company who will sponsor me on a 457. I heard that it might not be allowed to look for work on a tourist visa? But does this apply even if you genuinely are not working when you're on the tourist visa? Should I get offered a job and get a 457 - can I stay in Aus while this gets processed or do you have to leave the country? Can you go straight from tourist visa to a 457 whilst living in Australia? Thanks!

  20. Hi folks, Me and my wife are going to arrive to OZ in Jan 13 with our 176 PR visas sponsored by WA. The thing is that we'd like to visit some other cities before we head to Perth, just to get an impression of their lifestyles and feel. I don't know how much time I want for this travel but rough estimation will be few months. My concern is not arriving straight to the nominated state. I'm afraid that this might get us into a trouble lately if we don't register immediately after our arrival? After taking a look at my State Sponsorship Agreement, I've found the following: 1. You remain living and working in Western Australia for a period of two years after obtaining your visa. 2. You keep the Wester Australia Government informed of your contact details after your arrival. Now I see that in both cases they state "After", but no specific time limit is specified. So it makes me think that our trip won't be a problem.. Even if it'll take some more time..? To say more, all this agreement doesn't seem too serious. I mean there are no dates, no specific requirements, it's not so clear how should I contact the Western Australia Government. I don't know.. This document just seems a bit odd to me.. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

  22. Hi fellow PIO people I have a question (or three) about NSW state sponsorship. I want to apply for state sponsorship as an accountant as I have a positive skills assessment from the ICAA in that occupation. My questions are: Has anyone here recently applied for state sponsorship with NSW? Do they reply within their 3 to 4 week timeframe? How strict are they? I meet their requirements in that I am a Chartered Accountant at the time of application with 3+ years experience at a big four firm in external audit - but from the sounds of things, for example, VIC is incredibly strict and rejects people left and right? Did you get a grant? Specifically, did you get a grant as an accountant? If you did, what was your work experience background? I'd really appreciate some feedback on the above as I am stressing a bit. I have to wait until January to apply for NSW SS because I don't yet meet the 3 year minimum experience requirement in my occupation. Thank you!
  23. I'm currently in Australia on a WHV and am on a 6 month contract. I absolutely love the job I work in and am really happy at the moment. The only problem is that I want to stay in Australia. I have asked about the possibility of sponsorship and unfortunately have been told the company will not sponsor anyone other than senior management, as much as they would want to. I have recently attended an interview with another company who have offered me a job. Initially in the interview they seemed really interested in retaining me and said that sponsorship is definitely a possibility and asked lots of questions about my qualifications. They have since offered me a temporary contract until my visa expires and have said they would possibly look into sponsoring me somewhere down the line but this involves a completely new interview and a series of testing and there is no guarantee. The more questions I ask, the less interested they seem in sponsoring me and HR at the new place seem very unaccommodating and quite grumpy. I wondered if anyone has been in a similar position and could offer any advice? Do I take my current employer's word they won't sponsor me or try and persuade them to make an exception? Do I take this other job on the chance that they may sponsor me, or stay at my current job knowing that at least I will be happy for the remainder of my time in Oz? I have heard that lots of employers use sponsorship as a metaphorical carrot to get and retain staff for the 6 months they can work on a WHV without any intention of ever carrying it out. I'm really grateful for any advice anybody can offer me. Unfortunately I'm not eligible for skilled migration, however there is a chance I could be eligible for state sponsorship but this requires a lot more investigation. Help ... please!!!

    calling all general nurses

Hi, I am a general nurse with seven years experience in "aged care" and looking to find a hospital/body or facility in Brisbane for sponsorship for myself, partner and daughter. I have recently learned that it is better to deal directly with the employer rather than going through an agent. I have registered with AHPRA and ready to go, so is there anyone out there who can steer me in the right direction to find an employer or body in the Brisbane area that can help. Thank you Gwen.
  25. My 33yr old husband is looking for sponsorship to gain work and a 457 visa for Perth, Australia. We would like to emigrate there with our 2 young children but want to go on a temporary visa first to ensure the move is the right one for us all. My OH has 17yrs experience as a joiner in all aspects of the trade, including 4yrs running his own business, which he currently still operates. If anyone is able to point us in the right direction then I would be very grateful. Thanks
