    Rellie sponsorship

It has just dawned on me that my uncle could sponsor me on a 475 visa and I need some advice!! Firstly could someone spell out the process for this application. I have completed the IELTS and I am currently having my skills assessed (teacher) how do I go forward after this? Do medicals and police checks need to be done before I apply for GSM? I believe that these can be done during or after is this correct? Secondly is this a stressful process for the sponsor, currently my uncle is delighted to be able to help! Are there any tips to make the process run smoothly?! All answers gratefully received!
  2. Just wondering if someone applied to Tassie SS recently and waiting for it? How long it takes for application processing? I applied last week and waitning for the outcome. Cheers
  3. Hi everyone, I just returned from a month in Australia having been to Sydney, Townsville and Cairns on a holiday VISA. It was absolutely amazing and I am looking to relocate permanently. I've been searching for ITIL qualified Incident Manager roles that are available in Sydney and have applied for a few but the sponsorship seems to be a bit of an issue.. 1 company said they would employ me no problem, if I got a VISA through my own channels. So.. as I am over 30 now, please can anybody help me understand how I can go about applying for a VISA without guaranteed sponsorship, OR are there any decent IT employment agencies that I can contact? Thanks for your time in advance everyone. Luke
  4. Dear All, I falling under ANZSCO CODE: 262113 - Systems Administrator in latest SOL1-2. It is clear that I have to go for State/Territory Sponsorship (or Nomination) in few of the below ones. Australian Capital Territory New South Wales Northern Territory Queensland South Australia Tasmania Victoria Western Australia But I am unable to find which of the above are open for my ANZSCO CODE: 262113 as per new list. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello there, Am relatively new still to this website - so forgive me! I am sitting my IELTS this week, thereafter if everything goes smoothly, am ready to apply to Vetassess. My occupation is Office Manager, and I have told and recently looked at their website, they are State Sponsoring this occupation. Has anybody any advice on this as I want to make sure that my forms are filled out correctly. I am doing this on my own - so no agent as they seem to just rip you off! I believe the process as follows: Sit IELTS Have skills assessed Apply for State Sponsorship - is this directly then on the WA website? Apply for Visa - (if Sponsorship granted) directly to DIAC on website CO appointed Medical Police checks Is this right? Any help would be brilliant!!!! Thanks so much!!
  6. Hi everyone. we applied 2 weeks ao for Victoria SS and are awaiting approval  hopefully!! But obviously we have heard they are stict. We are now feeling a bit sick that we didnt apply to WA for SS as we need to have our visa applic lodged by March and with Victoria taking an estimated 12 weeks and xmas coming we wont have time to apply to WA before we need to ldge our 175 visa appl. Is Victoria really strict??? Please tel me others have been sucessful! My husband is a urban planner which is on their list! and they are short of urban planners. Fingers crossed we will know soon with an approval. I know they dont like you applying to another state but do you think we should apply for SS to WA. We are only applying for SS just because visa process times wiht it are faster we have enough points as it stands. Does anyone know how long Vic SS is taking???

    Sponsorship

For all those who have managed to find a job through Sponsorship, how long did you have to wait from when you applied for the job to getting an actual interview? My OH has emailed a few C.V's to jobs advertised over in OZ, and I know they have to consider Australian Citizens first, but is 8 weeks along time to wait for a response, and yes they are through agencies.

  10. Hi, I'm looking at the above two visas and trying to work out which one would be the most appropriate. I've already used a working holiday visa 5 years ago and am looking to go back to Australia with my other half. My partner is going to be getting a working holiday visa so she will be able to work and stay for a year. I would like to do the same, obviously minus the working. I have sufficient funds to see me through the whole year. Will it be possible to get either of these visas for a year? i did notice they offer them generally for 3 or 6 months but i want to stay longer. I have family in Australia that are happy to sponsor me however i have read that people only really use this visa if they are from a country that has history of people not leaving when their visa expires. Any experiences or help would be hugely appreciated. I am from the UK and currently live in London. Thanks Dave

  17. Hi First of all I'd like to say this is my 2nd post in the last 24hrs and I've found out more information reading all of the threads on here than I have in the last 11 years since returning from Oz from a working holiday Visa - this site is GREAT so thanks to you guys and girls for all your good advice given on here! Right, here it goes... Me, hubby and 2yr old daughter want to apply for a SS Visa 176 under my husbands trade as a 'Carpenter'. Below are some things I can't quite get my head around? - to apply for SS do you already have to taken the skills test? - for a Carpenter it says TRA and use VETASSESS or VICTORIA UNIVERSITY - what one is it best to go with? - Is it correct that if you go with VICTORIA UNIVERSITY there's no actual physical skills test, just a Paper-Based assessment and then a Technical Interview which if I understand correct is conducted using SKYPE? - If we go with VICTORIA UNIVERSITY - how long will this take to arrange as we're concerned about the new points system coming into play July 11. Will we have enough time to get everthing sorted - as there's so much to do - If we go with VETASSESS - I can see tests in Feb but no other dates available on their website. How often are the skills tests and do this alwasy have to be done? Again, worried we're going to run out of time re new points system that comes in July 11. Minds gone blank! I'll ask more questions when they come to my head! Thanks for your input everyone! Cheers :chatterbox:
  18. Hi everyone Has anyone on here applied for state sponsorship with NSW as an Accountant (code 221111)? I’m going to be applying in January (since that’s when I meet the minimum 3 year requirement) and I haven’t seen many people on here applying. So any tips or suggestions? Do they actually reply within their 3/4 week timeline as quoted on their web site? Thank you Dono
  19. I'm on a working holiday visa at the moment and have about a month left before my boyfriend and I have to go back to the UK. I'm an architect (although not registered yet) and just started a new job last week which is just supposed to be a temporary position for a few weeks but my boss is asking whether there is any way I'd be able to stay as they've just landed a couple of new jobs and their work load is looking pretty good. I mentioned sponsoring but they've never done it before and obviously it's very early days in a new job so I don't want to push my luck, I've had a read on the immigration website about what they would have to do and it doesn't sound too costly but maybe quite a bit of hassle. Was wondering if it would be better to get an agent involved so maybe my employer won't have to spend too much time on it, also can anyone recommend an agent in Melbourne?

    WA State Sponsorship

Sorry to start another thread about this but we've just finally submitted our WA SS and I was wondering if anyone else has submitted really recently and received an answer back. From looking at posts over the last couple of months it looks like people were receiving answers back in less than 2 weeks and sometimes over night! I was just hoping it was the same at the moment. We would love to have our actual visa application in before Christmas.
  21. Hi All! After almost a year of paperwork and stress with slow agents and numerous mind-changes about where to apply (Perth or Adelaide) we have been given what could be a fantastic opportunity. A friend has offered to sponsor my husband in NSW (which would have been our first choice!) So..... All great in theory. However, our dilema is that after doing the VETASSESS and passing the IELTS we still assumed it would be ages until anything happened as we were applying for state sponsorship initially. My husband had a job interview here in the UK on Thursday and accepted it. Then on Friday we got the call to say our friend in Oz will sponsor him. Now we don't know whether to still take the job here which starts on Monday, or carry on as we were? I hear the 121/856 visa can happen very quickly! My husband already has a job here, so is it crazy to start a new one? Does anyone have a good idea of timing/processing on the visa 121/856 or even the 457? Oh how I wish he'd been offered the ENS a year ago! Cheers! Lucy

    Job Search

Hi guys, My OH is a graphic designer and is finishing up his portfolio to job hunt this week. We are looking for employer sponsorship as it seems to be our best option. Looking at other posts people have said to put in our covering letter that we are looking for sponsorship and others have said not to. So I think we'll put it on there first and if we dont hear anything for a while then take it off haha. Anyways, the main reason why I've created this is to find out where is the best place to apply for jobs? We wanted to apply on Seek because there's soooooooooo many jobs on there but I've seen a few people from other posts recommend avoiding it because of the agencies. Is it worth still applying on there anyway? Or maybe using it to find companies that are looking and go directly to them? All/any advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks guys :cute:
  23. Hi y'all! I'm proper peeved at the current situation in UK and looking to go and join a pal of mine in Perth only I need a proper tiling qual on top of the one I already got. Anyone know what level I can go in at? I'm also Merchant Navy (UK) and cant find ANY work as a Steward as the cheaper foreign imports have taken it all Are there any companies in Oz who want UK types with all their STCW 95 AND OPITO tickets? Please help. Annoyed in Kent!
  24. Hello I know there may have been heaps of questions similar to this asked previously - but i couldn't find a response specific to this question.. I'm just wondering if anyone has recent experience of the processing time for Employers to be approved for sponsorship? I am transferring my current 457 visa to a new employer. I've been informed by immigration that it can take up to 4 weeks, but has anyone experienced it to be a quicker/longer process? This waiting game is a killer! Any information on people's experiences would be much appreciated. Thanks, S
  25. Hello Everyone, This is my first post and need some serious help from fellow ppl. I have recently received a negative outcome for NSW State Sponsorship for accountant general. The reason states that I donot meet the criteria for recent work experience of 3yrs in areas of audit, taxation, risk. The fact is that I have relevant work experience of 9+years as an accountant in a reputed firm and have recent experience of 5+years in risk alone. In the first 3 yrs I've also had audit experience but that wont count. I have substantiated my documentation with reference letters and also employment references describing my job profile. I am also FRM (Garp) certified risk professional. I fail to understand why NSW has said I donot meet the critria when I thought I was most eligible and a clear candidate for receiving State sponsorship. Is it possible to review/ appeal this refusal to grant state sponsorship and explain my CV and role more clearly to them? Do they review applications which are refused? Experts kindly share your views. Thanks, Expatin.
