  4. Hi, Myself and my husband are about to book flights to Brisbane for the start of october and plan to work on a working holiday visa. The plan is to get sponsored then - does this happen? My husband has just finished a degree (which is recognised in Australia) in Civil Engineering. He doesnt have any experience yet (apart from work placement from uni). I have a degree and masters in Mathematics and Computer Science, and have been doing a PhD for the last 4 years (which i will finish while working over the next year). Can anyone tell me if we have a chance of getting sponsorship? Thanks in advance for your help!

    family sponsership questions

Hi i have a brother who is looking to evetually get permenant residency if this is this the case is he then able to sponser me to come out? what exactly does sponsership invlove him doing? Also i was wondering i have a niece who is a Aussie but a very young one! i was wondering can this help me get out at all. as i have seen niece/nephews listed on the family sponsership thing but of course shes far to young to do anything but i was wondering if you have family such as her who is so young can her parents advocate on her behalf. A bit of a long shot i know but im just trying to look at all my options. I really dont know what sponsership involves for the person sponsering you. I do have a second cousin somewhere in Oz to but i dont know her sadly! thank you
  8. Have passed online points test without sponser (just), but maybe it'll be better if we get one....husband's been a site manager for four years, before that he was a dryliner for four yrs, so he's been onsite for 8yrs now. His present job is a £100million contract on a grade 1 listed building, but we've been wanting to move to oz for yrs now and the kids are old enough for me to look for work out there. we are willing to go asap. Any suggestions are welcome on how we move forward. As husband only really has experience and a couple of certificates proving his competence on site (not degrees or apprenticeship) i'm not sure we'll get out there without a sponser. Been sending cv's to agencies for work in oz but nothing yet, how do we apply for state sponsership? It os really frustrating isn't it!!!.... Thanks all, nikki.
  9. Hi, I am new to this website and looking for some help regarding sponsorship. Myself, husband and seven year old son are looking to join my brother in Sydney, he has only just moved over there though and is on a 457 visa. My husband is a Class 2 driver who has been self empolyed for the past 5 years and I am a Hotel conference manager without qualifications but with 20 years experience. Can anyone advise if we can get sponsered with eithr of our careers? Thanks in advance.

    state sponsership

I may seem a bit green here but has anyone gone for the state sponsership visa ? Is it a viable option? :err:
  11. Hello All, Well I am going to go the subclass 176 Visa route with the WA Government sponsering. Found out OH's occupation is on their priority list. Went to their website and filled out the application uploaded the TRA results and OH's CV went to submit it and it comes up with a bindery exchange issue. I tried from my office as well and the same message pops up after I hit the submit button. Has anyone else tried doing the online application in the last few days and if so have they had any problems?? I think the problem is at their end, but I am not sure. Any help would be great Karen

    job sponsership

Hello All, Thought I would do a post as having a very frustrating week. Does anyone have any idea, how long it takes a company to respond to your resume (or if they even respond at all). We were using a recruitment agencie in Perth, however, gave up hope, too many promises and not one follow through. So I have taken the bull by the horn, so to speak, and have looked on the internet. My OH's job is on the MODL and he is going to write the IELTS for the extra points, however, I thought we would try the 457 route, as it seems to be quicker and then go for PR once in Oz. I just sent out 8 resumes to companies in Perth yesterday. I am hoping to have an acknowledgement from at least one of them. Does anyone else have the same problem, it seems they are crying out for skilled trade, and yet it seems so bloody slow to hear from anyone down there. I have a friend in Perth who is Canadian (same as us) and all she keeps telling me is that finding a job is no problem (finding a place to rent on the other hand is more difficult), yet I feel like we are hitting a brick wall and now I am starting to wonder if this is all worth it. Sorry for the rant, I guess I am just a little fed up and frustrated by the whole process, as is the majority of people trying. Cheers Karen :arghh::arghh:
  13. Hi Hope someone can advise - we thought we would go down the regional state sponsership route for WA. When we started the online process the other night it gave a list of a few areas that we could choose from - I thought that as long as you stayed in WA for 2 years that would be fine. Has anyone else been down this route? Look forward to some advice...thanks
  14. Firstly I would like to say hi to you all. My husband and I live in Edmonton, Canada and cannot bear another 5 months of snow and -40's. We are heading to WA, I have been scanning the immigration site about being sponsered by the state but cant find any info on what forms I need and where to send them. I've looked several times and am now considering not bothering and going for the IELTS and wasting several hundred dollars. Sooo if anyone knows the procedure I would be really appreciative and could stop stressing over all this madness. Just to top it all the TRA assessment has got lost in the mail. They sent it out over a month ago....we know its a positive outcome but 'hello' how many headaches am I going to get!! Apparently with the state sponsership along with a job offer the visa could be with us within 9 months........or so I read!! Anyway I look forward to some words of wisdom Cheers Julie

    Help wanted re sponsership

Hiya all Just found out the only way we can get to oz is via sponsership (we were keeping our options open) My OH is a 'Floor Layer' (carpet fitter) with 16 years experience, who has worked for the same 2 shops throughout this time. He is also able to hang & fit any kind of blinds & curtains. Full References are available from both companies Does anybody know of any companies in the Brisbane area that would be willing to sponser him? Any help or guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks Zoe. x:sad:
  16. Hi everyone. This is my first posting on this board and have loved reading everyone's questions and replies.Everyone is so helpful so I hope someone can help with my queries. My husband emigrated to Oz on the £10 ticket many years ago with his family and married and had a family in Oz. After his divorce he left Oz, met me and we got married. After a visit to Oz last September for a month I fell head over heels in love with Australia and we would now like to emigrate. The problem we have is that my husband never got his citizenship when he lived there and we are both now in our late 50's though very healthy and so we are only able to go over on a Family Sponsership Visa. To save being in a long queue (up to 7 years we were told) we are going to go on a Contributaory Visa. His 4 sons were all born in Oz and are still living there.Has anyone any idea how long it could take to get this vias? Has anyone else gone to Oz on one of these visas?

    Sponsership \\??

Hi everyone , how are we all .. Im tim and i moved out to oz for good in jan this year , am only 26 so have not been working a great deal , mostly been travelling , and doing some research as to where i want to stay .. On my travels i met an awesome girl from Stuttgart , We are now together and im here in Germany visiting her now ... She wants to come back out with me but we are facing huge walls now due to visa requirements etc ... I am in oz on a skilled migration visa , and im thinking the best way for her to come with me is for her to get a one year visa and then aim to get sponsership with a decent company when she is out there , which will eventually end in some form of residency ..i hope . I know with sponsership there are rules and regs etc , and that she would have to stay with that one company in order to stay in oz , which is cool as long as she is happy where she is .... If anyone has any info for me , i would be more than grateful .... There will be a cold carton of beer coming your way ... Thank you ... tim
