  1. Hi everyone, its a long time since I last posted, so long I've forgotten my account details and the email address I was using! Anyway I'd almost given up hope of ever getting a visa or getting our money back after applying back in August 2008, but yesterday I received an email from DIAC - probably a lot of people did as it was pretty generic but it basically directed me to the SMP program. Since I haven't kept up to date with all the changes since late 2009, I had no idea what is was or the options available but on investigation it appears my job - ANZSCO 262113 is on the SMP list for NSW! So the question is, is this a valid route i.e. apply for sponsorship, change visa to 176, move to cat 3 and get a visa within 12 months? or is it risky, its another $300 and since they had $2100 four years ago, then changed the rules and kept the money, is it possible they could do the same thing again? If you successfully get sponsorship do they have to change the 175 to a 176? Is it possible they will change the rules for 176 processing or are they trying to get through the backlog so they can move on the new Skill Select system? I know nobody can give definitive answers but has anyone any experience of doing this recently? Thanks Rob

    NSW State Sponsorship list updated

Hi All Just to let you know the NSW State Sponsorship list has been updated and they have actually added some new occupations to their limited list. http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0010/5788/STNI-Update-List-of-Occupations-22.09.11.pdf
  5. Hi All, may be a bit soon to ask, but does anyone have any ideas whether the state sponsored lists will continue under the expression of interest scheme they are planning to bring in? Thanks
  6. Hi all, The Victorian state government has today released an updated State Migration Plan. People wishing to apply for state sponsorship to Victoria should review the latest SMP. IT occupations have been re-instated, and more details can be found here: http://ptlabs.com.au/articles/?id=28 Cheers Peter

    SA SMP Finalized...

dear all, according to SA immi web site, SA SMP and SSML have been finalized. but when i looked at the SMML, i got confused because i believe it's the same SSML posted in july. i'm sad because my nominated occupation is still in the offlist. can some one clarify this. thanks. 3jps
  9. I can't quite believe this! I keep reading and re reading his page  http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/SKILLEDMIGRATION/Pages/Occupationsindemand.aspx and it clearly shows 'welfare worker' is on WA SMP and is AVAILABLE! Am I dreaming? So this potentially means we can apply for SS and be moved from Cat 5 to cat 3?!!:jiggy: Somebody pinch me please!

    Smp rules

I have applied for off shore permanent resident visa in July 2008, I applied as Corporate General Manager and I saw this profession is in demand in SA. I have few queries before I apply for this. IELTS exam which I took at time of submitting my application was then valid, Do I take again to apply with SA. My skills were assessed then I don't have to do again? I have not worked or lived in SA is that ok. I look forward to any replies. I appreciate your time. Warm Regards TR
  12. Hi there I know the new SOL comes into effect on July 1. However there are a few different schedules of the SOL now, can someone explain why? Also, I am studying I.T, I have already done 1 year in 2010 and am going back next july to do my 2nd year (Diploma) in I.T. Have all the I.T occupations been taken off the SOL and the MODL, because I keep hearing about other lists of occupations in demand for the State Migration Plans? Can anyone kind of put it simply, I've read loads of info on immi.gov and its just bouncing around not making any sense! :err: Thank you Take Care :cute:
  13. Hi to all previous SA SS holders Here's what I got from DIAC from asking them about the exact Category I belong to after my occupation is in the SMP but tagged as OFFLIST. My enquiry: and their REPLY: Ok. Ill fire inquiry to SA right now. Whatever. Pffftt
  14. Dear All, I just noticed that my occupation have showed up on the recent SMP of SA as "off-list" occupation. ( i have received SS back in 2009). Does it mean that SA finally treated all applicants who were granted state sponosrhip back in 2009 and we will get normal priority? Pls confirm me if you are sure, that we are now moved from new Cat 5 to new Cat 3. If so, this is SO BRILLIANT NEWS, isn't it??!!:wub:I was feeling so sick having the state sponsorship of SA and be in the lowest priority! This is the quote from DIAC web site: Applications from people who are applying under the RSMS are processed as priority group 1. Those applying under the ENS are processed as priority group 2. Applications from people who are nominated by a state or territory government agency with a nominated occupation that is specified on the state or territory's state migration plan receive the third highest level of priority processing..... As a transitional arrangement, applicants who were nominated by a state or territory government for an 'off-list' occupation prior to the implementation of state migration plans will also receive processing under priority group 3. http://www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sh...ty_skilled.htm Please let me know.. Thank you in advance Nata

    New NSW SMP?

Hi there I have read that NSW will be issuing a new SMP from 1st July 2011 - but I cannot find this anywhere? Has this been released yet? Many thanks!
  17. Hi DIAC has edited its processing time table and has included other visas categories which were forgotten in the last announcement. For instance the 176VE applicants who were included in SOL and off from SMP list were not listed in the first announcement and many believed that those applications will be considered in Cat5 and now are included in Cat4 which is a good news for them. There are some other changes in the table which can be seen through the following link http://www.immi.gov.au/about/charters/client-services-charter/visas/8.0.htm

  24. Hi there, May be having a blond moment, but was wondering whether anyone has started a thread showing the progress of SA SS applications? Did a search and there are ones for Vic, WA etc, but can't find one for SA. Just wanted an idea of how quickly the applications are being processed! If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great, or if there isn't one started... Many thanks
