  1. Hi, We have been discussing going down under for a few months but put our thoughts on hold whilst our baby was born, he has now arrived and discussions are very much ongoing. We went to one of the emigrate shows at York race course back in september and at the time our planned route would be the skilled visa as my hubby is an electrician, we had heard about the new vettassess way of doing things and the cost involved. While we were there we stopped at a stand run by WORKFORCE who offered to us the employment sponsorship route where they sponsor us and our visa would be valid for 4 years and if at the end of the 4 years we wanted to stay we could return home and apply again for the same visa or prior to it running out we could apply for the permanent residency visa - ie skilled visa route. This threw us a bit as we are now unsure which route to take. My hubby would still have to take the test that is eing held in the UK now along side getting this visa but it still is alot cheaper way of getting there initially. Just wondering if anyone has any more info of doing it this way or about WORKFORCE who we spoke to. Thanks in Advance The Roberts Family Jo, G Rhys and new arrival Haydn Not forgetting Ozzie (dog)

    Stop-overs on route to Aus

I was thinking about using our flight to Aus as a way of having an extended holiday before we have to get back into the rat race. I'm looking for some suggestions for stop-overs, I was thinking about having 2 en-route to Australia, maybe Hong Kong (used to live there as a child) and then a beach place for a few weeks. Here's the deal breaker though, me and my husband will be travelling with our 2.5 yr old twins and our 5 yr old - gulp:goofy:. So any ideas on a couple of family friendly places to visit on-route?? Thanks Angelcake
  4. Here s the plan: going to Australia as a MA student of a 1 year long programme. Before graduation applying for and enrolling to another MA programme, 1 year long also in order to be able to apply for the PR after 2 years of studing. Questions: Is it likely I will not have any problems regarding the prolonging of the visa (without the need to re-enter OZ)? Do you know or have you heard about similar cases like myself? Thanks.

What is best route to take?

Hi Everyone It gets more confusing by the day!!! The more research i do, the more confused i become. Hope some of you professionals can help - I am 36 at present i am a sales and marketing manager within IT. The job scores well and i have passed various FREE assessments online. The problem is that the migration specialists state that if i do not have a formal qualification i.e. degree, diploma etc then my 12 years experience is no use. Is this true? if so what is the next best visa to look at? We are looking at Melbourne as a base. With regards work - does anybody know if companies in Oz or places to look for companies who offer sponsorship? In hope. Keith
  6. Just wondering if anyone has gone to new south wales via the employer sponsored nomination route. We (me, my husband and 18 month old son) have lodged our application and recieved a reciept but nothing else as yet. How long will it take :?: .
  7. Hi everyone, Just been successful in our TRA Application, but we are having to use my husband's auntie as a sponsor, this will then give us 120 points. If anyone can give me any details on what the sponsor has to do, is there alot of work involved :?: and how long does this take :!: I do know we will have to have a financial assurer and hand over $5,000 to keep in commonwealth bank for 2 years, in case any social security payments have been made. Any help greatly received. Thanks Justine
