  2. Hi All We are new to this site but hope that someone may be able to advise us. We have applied for a 136 visa before the September changes, so I guess it is now a 175 which will be awarded. However we need to invest the $100k for the 5 points which has now been withdrawn leaving us in difficulty. Has anyone heard anything positive about options or decisions??? Secondly, we believe we may have to now go State Sponsored for a 176 sponsored visa. Has anyone changed subclass of visa part way through the application or will we have to reapply from scratch.?? Any information on any of the above will help me sleep sounder over Christmas. Thanks Gary

  7. My OH has a 4ft aquarium. Pickfords said that if it goes in the container when it gets to Oz customs will disinfect it which means it can't be used again. Are Pickfords correct? He has tried to sell it but had no luck and does not really want to give it away. Just wondered if anyone might have any answers? Thank you Claire (god, I love these glitter things)

  10. Hello there, We are in the process of gathering all our information and have most of the things we need. The thing is my husband's old Accountant just will not respond to our request for a reference despite asking a few times by phone and letter. You don't want to pester do you in these circumstances? My husband has been a Self Employed Bricklayer for 20 years and this reference is really important to our assessment. What can we do? I know he hasn't moved, may be it's because we have a new Accountant but they parted on good terms so I can't see that as a real issue. Anyway, so now I look to the Inland Revenue to ask them to confirm that my husband has filed accounts for all of these years and is registered. What else would I need to ask them to confirm? what else would Vetassess want from them? Many thanks, Nora Any help would be greatly appreciated guys...

    Gutted - help, advice required

Im gutted, I've been looking into my visa options and thought i was pretty safe just scoring the 120 points. BUT, after looking into it in more details i wont qualify. I wanted to go on the 175 independent skilled visa. However, it seems because i have had a years maternity leave i cannot apply until i have been back at work for 12 months! It appears you are not considered to be employed if you have had maternity or paternity leave.... gutted Bex
  12. Hello again, Can anyone advise what I am asking the Accountant to say in his reference other than he was our Accountant for x amount of years and that we have paid all of our tax bills? What else will VETASSESS need in this reference? Many thanks, Nora

Is IELTS required for 457 visa?

Is the IELTS test required to prove English proficiency for the 457 visa application? My boyfriend is English, born and bred in the UK, a full-blooded POM by the Aussie definition! But he has no copies of school certs on hand.
  14. My boyfriend is potentially being sponsored by an Australian employer to enter the country on the subclass 457 employer-sponsored visa. This is NOT an intra-company transfer. Is it absolutely required for him to produce certified copies of his University certificate? Or would his CV and employment offer letter suffice? Any other supporting documents which are a must and cannot be optional? The employer is already a recognised company under DIMIA and has processed several such visas ongoing and previously. Thanks for any advice.

    agent required

Does anyone know of a good agent to recommend in our hope to move to oz ? How much do they cost on average? and were do i start to look ? any help will be greatly appreciated.
  17. Hi Guys Anyone with info on these 2 areas much appreciated. Cheers Al.
  18. Below is a list of the content we sent for our successful TRA application. It may be useful for those who are about to embark on the dreaded application!! Everything must be on A4 paper and not clipped together in any way (i.e. no staples, paperclips etc) You only send copies, hence the reason for them to be certified by a Solicitor or Justice of the Peace. Every page should have typed or stamped on it :- “I certify that this is a true copy of the original document [signature]_________________ [Name of Solicitor/JP] Declared at: [address where signing took place] Date: I typed this information onto small stickers and placed one on each page, then photocopied the lot. My J.P. friend then just signed each one. Solicitors tend to have an official stamp that they use of this purpose. Get quotes from a couple of Solicitors, their prices can vary considerably! Tell them that it is a ‘pack’ of documents that need signing rather than asking how much they charge per signature. You should obtain at least TWO certified copies of everything listed, as one complete set will need to be sent with your visa application, in due course. I would be happy to help out with website designs (100% free web hosting so no continuous outlay) and/or a one off business card copy (see my notes on this below). Good luck everyone! ·TRA application form ·Certified copy of ID page from applicants passport ·Certified copy of applicants Birth Certificate ·2 x Passport photos of applicant (you will also need 4 x passport photos of EACH person on the visa application so you may decide to get these done at the same time)·Certified copies of City & Guilds Certificates or Certified copy(s) of qualification(s)pertaining to your job. (Note: nothing is too trivial here, supply a copy of every single certificate that you have ever obtained to do with your trade)·Certified copy of employment reference(s) ·Certified copy(s) (signed by a Solicitor) of any Statutory Declaration(s) if necessary IF SELF-EMPLOYED …. ·Certified copy of Accountant’s Reference ·Certified copies of at least 3 x client references ·Certified copies of at least 3 x wholesaler references ·Certified copies of bank account statements ·Certified copy of current Public Liability Insurance Certificate ·Certified copy of Business Bank Account Paying in Slip (see how even the most trivial things are worth sending copies of!!)·Certified copies of Inland Revenue Income Tax correspondence ·Certified copies of HM Customs and Excise correspondence ·Certified copy of a piece of your business headed paper ·Certified copy of one of your business card (we didn’t have any current business cards so I designed a single one and photocopied it – I’d be happy to do this for anyone else too - PM me the details)·Certified copy of C.I.S. Registration Card and/or any other details of trade memberships, etc ·The website address of your business (I can help you design a simple website with free hosting, PM me)·Any other relevant information such as details of companies that have gone into liquidation – details of these can usually be obtained from Companies House (http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/)

    TRA experience required

I am a joiner consider applying for my tra. Im just wondering if i sent of all the info i could to prove my skill (certificates & some references) & this still didnt prove to be enough. Would it be kept on record and hinder any future applications.I could get a lot more proof if i was to wait 12 mths or so. But i just thought it may be worth the risk now to save some time.As $300 is a snip on the scale of things. Also how long does it take. And if i was succesfull would that be it as far as my skill goes or do they go sniffing again when applying for my visa.

    Help required with CSA query

I would like to know if anyone could help me and my husband with a question that we have, as we are finding it difficult to get an answer. We are moving to Australia at the end of August next year and my husband has an 8 year old son from a previous relationship who will be staying behind with his natural mother. Dave is currently paying child maintenance through an organisation called CSA on a weekly basis. Our question is what do we do when we leave the UK as my husband wants to still pay for his son, but would rather give it straight to the mother so he knows his son will see all of it and not the government, the only problem is that the mother is on income support and all the other benefits as she is classed as disabled, would this affect her payments if she was getting money straight from my Dave into her bank acct as her payments are subsidised by the local council due to being a single mother etc. We really don't know where we stand legally or what we are to do in this circumstance.
