  2. I have been in contact with a few on PIO lately who are feeling a bit lonely and out of things, I would like to organise a get together at Suttons beach for MARCH 14. I know Scampi, Ferret,The Harpers are interested. There are quite a lot on PIO in the area. Anyone welcome, especially those around the Peninsula like North Lakes & Mango Hill etc. I can provide a marquee for any food and a BBQ , [i am just across the road so no trouble for me]there are BBQ's at the beach, but they are always busy and very slow to cook. Also plenty of playgrounds for the children. Let me know who is interested, even if you can think of any other venue.

  7. Hi there Very excited we are finally making the move to Oz, month in Sydney while puppy is in quarantine and then heading for Redcliffe. Really want to sort out a property to rent before we get there so we can register our 12 year old son in school as we get to Queensland at end of half term (beginning of October). Looking for 4 beds in Redcliffe or Rothwell, preferably a modern property with outdoor space for dog. Can anybody help? Also if anyone has kids in either Redcliffe High or Deception Bay High can you let us know what they are like - the school not the kids I mean. A bit scared but can't wait to get out there. Ange x
  8. Hi all, We're getting to the end stage of our application and hoping for a positive decision soon. Want to move to brissie to a family friendly area near the sea with nice beaches but close enough to commute to the city-not sure which part but imagine central. We've looked at the redcliffe area and also cleveland/redland bay. Both seem to have positive reviews in the main on this board. Wondering how to compare the 2 areas and which would be more suitable for us. We have 2 children aged 20 months and 4 years thanks em

Is there anything we are to be aware of that is done differently to the U.K. i.e. fees, uniform, after school clubs etc. many thanks Glen :arghh: bloody kids. I am hoping with all the after school clubs and outdoor lifestyle they will all stop arguing so much
  12. Hello all, We are currently waiting along with many others having applied for a 175 visa. We are hoping to move around Brisbane but would like to be next to the sea if possible. We really enjoy swimming in the sea but I have read in other posts that this is a problem around redcliffe is this just at certain times of the year or all year round? If it is does anyone know of other family friendly coastal areas within commutable distance to brisbane that don't have this problem? thanks em

  18. Hey everyone, Does anyone fancy a meet-up in Scarborough along the waterfront for BYO food and drink on Sunday 12th of July around midday-ish? I'm 27 years old, my boyfriend is 32 yrs old and we moved to Redcliffe about 3 months ago. I know that there was supposed to be a meet-up on the peninsula sometime soon but maybe it happened without us., lol. Anyway I thought it might be a good oppurtunity for all of us to meet a few people. I would say the more the merrier, people of all ages, kids, dogs and cats!! Anyone interested? Speak soon. x.x.x
  19. HI there im new to this forum thing but it sounds like a great place to find out some answers! My family and i are trying to get to oz and i am currently in the final stage awaitng approval of my skilled migrant visa, which i have been relialbly informed by my agent could take anythingup to 2 years to process due to the current economic climate. With this in mind i have now applied for a regional sponsored visa which i have been informed that usualy takes up to 6 months to turn around from start to finish. i am now finiding that where i had loads of time to sort out schooliing for the kids, relocation of the family dogs, and finding a new home, not to mention a job. i have now got it all to do in 6 months and could do with some helpfull advice. i have seen from numerous searche on the internet that there are some nice scools around the Clontarf area (where my visa is based) has any one got any ideas of prices of scooling, how you go about getting childeren enrolled if there are many carreer opportunities for bricklayers in the Redcliffe peninsular area. sorry its a bit long winded but so many questions and not so much time! many thanks in advance. nigenhay

  21. Hi guys, We have lived in Redcliffe for 10 months now and although we have made friends in Oz we have not met anyone who lives nearby, meaning we can go weeks without seeing friends and therefore I am feeling a bit lonely. We are in our late 20s with no children and would really love to meet anyone who fancies a few drinks somewhere on the peninsula. We enjoy plenty of wine, bbqs, dinners, cinema and dog walking so if you are intested in any of the above please get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from you Nina and Gareth x

    Breaking lease in Redcliffe

A family whom I helped out last September, need to break their lease, due to family size, with more in the family. Basically they are about 100 metres from Redcliffe leagues club,, they have a 4 bedroom high set, with a large closed area under for a recreation room. Lovely in ground pool and bbq area with a covered area. They pay $350 per week. They are moving next week regardless, so it will be vacant then. Anyone interested contact me and I will give you their contact name and number. Be great for anyone for a few months until they find exactly what they want in housing. Their lease expires end of August, but would be renewed.
