  22. Hello all . I'm wondering if someone could help me out with some further information.... I am a 32 year old Recruitment Consultant living in the UK, who is seriously considering an opportunity to move to Sydney to work in the same industry. I am trying to establish what the average cost of living would be in Sydney taking into account rent, bills, travel, council tax (or equivalent etc etc). i just don't want to fly over and commit myself to a salary, without accuratly being able to gauge whether I will be able to live on it! Although it looks like an amazing place and if I'm skint there's always the beach, I suppose!!!! Is there anyone out there that has moved over for a similar opportunity within recruitment that could give me some advice?? Thank you! x
  23. Hi, I'm a Site Engineer (in Civils) (irish passport holder based in the UK) actively seeking employment in Australia - absolutely ANYWHERE in Australia. from what i gather I'd definitely require company sponsorship to gain a visa, so it's imperative I get a job offer before I even start to plan a move. Can anyone recommend any recruitment agencies/website that specialise in flogging the likes of us to Australian contractors? Or am i urinating against a strong breeze trying to do it from the UK?
  24. I currently work in sports travel, I organise the travel for a formula one tream to all the GP's. I'm looking to get into sports travel over in Oz. Specifically AFL. Now, I've seen numerous jobs advertised through recruitment consultants, however, they seem ridiculously hard to use, unfriendly and to be honest, didn't seem to have a clue what they were talking about. Can anyone suggest any decent recruitment agencies? Thanks! Ian

    How can we get in?

Hi all, we are new to the forum and are looking for advice and guidance. My partner is 31 and is a qualified part 2 scaffolder and I am 27 and work in recruitment and will have my certificate in HR practice in June. (CIPD Qualification) We want to look at immigrating but have been told that my partner is too old for a WHV and his skill is not on the SOL and I would need to be educated at degree level in recruitment. I have been advised by someone that if my partner was able to get a company to sponsor him we could come out on a type of visa then look at applying for residency. when I have spoken to migration agent i have just been told that we are not likely to get a sponsor and there is no other visa we can get. Does anyone have any help or know about sponsorship. We hope someone can help and give us some advice as we really want to come out! thanks :wubclub:
