  5. Hi, I am going to lodge in my 886 application next week (I have everything ready apart from the IELTS result, which I checked online that I have four 7s but have not received the report card yet). I am wondering if the paper or online application process faster? I will be in Cate 3. I have read from somewhere about the processing times for GSM but I can't find the website again. Does anyone know about it? I have printed and completed my visa application on paper already, but I don't mind to do it online again if it's easier that way. Thanks in advance! PS. also... do you happen to know how long does it take to have my bridging visa? I am guessing I should have it straight after I lodge in my application?
  6. Hi to all, and I hope that you are all getting along nicely this evening. It's been a while since I have been on here, infact it's been a while since I first started this long drawn process. So after alot of time, I have finally had some good news. I applied for a Subclass 176 Skilled Sponsored Visa for Victoria, and have has a successful outcome. Now I have to apply to the DIAC, which again seems a daunting process, and will require alot of patience and putting life plan on hold again, but what i don't know is, how long for. So is there any indication as to how long the processing times are for a Subclass 176 Skilled Sponsored Visa, going as a 32 year old, English Carpenter/Joiner, whom is heading in the direction of Melbourne? I have a feeling that this again is going to be a long process! I haven't actually applied to the DIAC yet as I only received the positive outcome from Victoria Immigration yesterday, and have to now read and understand what the next step is. If anybody has any information, it would be much appreciated, as this again will determine what happens in the next stage of my life... Many thanks, and good luck in your own quests, Scotty.
  7. Is this the norm? Does it mean that we are now in the long wait like everyone else, like it is a generic status? Or does it mean more?
  8. Hi all. Has anyone gone through the process of transferring an existing 457 visa from one sponsor to another? I'm interesed in processing times for: a) The new employer submitting a nomination to be a sponsoring employer b) The employee (me) having their visa switched from the old employer to the new employer The job detail is approximately the same, it's just the employer thats changing. Any experiences that anyone could share would be appreciated. Paul
  9. Hi All, A little bit anxious now and would appreciate any help/advise i can get. Meds been referred and hasn't been finalized till now - a full 5 weeks:mad:. Anybody out there in the same boat? Hadn't heard anything from MOC (will they contact by email if there's a problem?). Panel doctor assured everything was ok when the meds were sent, so don't know why it's taking so awfully long to have it cleared. Wanted to believe it's all due to some backlog, but I haven't read from PIO anyone who's waiting as long as I am. Thanks.

  11. Hi does anyone know how long the processing times are for the 176 visa and do nurses get any higher proirity. I have applied for a 176 and had to apply on paper as computer and scanner died on me and had to be fixed , still has problems now so it seemed easier to do a paper application. I was wondering how long it would take for my visa appliaction to be processed as i know online applications go through quicker. However i am a nurse and the diac site says nurses are usually proiritised.
  12. Hi Folks All the documentation for my 856 application is finally in place(employer nomination, meds, police checks etc.). All that is required to be done is for the application to be lodged. I'm keen on using the DRC(decision ready checklist) option to speed up the process. As I understand it these applications are lodged at the Brisbane office / Centre of Excellence, though I am not sure if that was just on a trial basis? Does anyone know if the Brisbane office still accepts ENS 856 applications? Or is it preferable that it be lodged with the local Parramatta office(given that I live in Sydney)? I appreciate your feedback and assistance. Thanks

Processing times for 175 for nurses

Hi all, I know it’s another one of those how long is a piece of string questions but does anyone have any idea about recent processing times for a 175 for a nurse? We’re trying to get an idea of what “priority processing” might actually translate into in terms of months once an application has been submitted. Thanks for any thoughts and good luck to everyone sitting and hoping for that magic letter from DIAC! Simon.

    HOC processing

Any recent update on the HOC processing timelines? My medicals was received on 18-Jan-2011 and I am waiting for it to be finalised. Was anyone asked by the HOC to undertake a further up-to-date chest x-ray? Cheers, Erwinel

    Processing times for 175

Hi, I do realise that this is probably the most common question asked on every migration forum but I'm hoping I can have some feedback off people in a similar situation. First of all I am a bricklayer and passed my Vettasses practical on may 17th 2010.. Ielts passed july 21st 2010... visa subclass 175 lodged 27th sept 2010 Im currently on a working holiday in ozz and that expires in August 2010, and I believe Im not entitled to a bridging visa because its an offshore application... can any1 give me advice on when I am expected to get a CO please???????????? Gav
  17. Well me & my OH stayed up last night to speak to Adelaide processing centre to see if we could find out the progress of our visa app. & i can safely say we are more ticked off (putting it mildly) than ever now!!! We originally lodged our 175 visa app. back in Sept. 2009 & gained WA SS in July 2010 changing to a 176. The guy we spoke to last night told us (in his words) "IT WILL BE QUITE SOMETIME"- wouldn't commit to how much time- before we get a case officer. I am really chuffed for those people who already been allocated CO's but PROCESSING IN DATE ORDER obviously not as there are plenty of people that applied after us that have been given case officers. Sorry rant over, guess we'll just have to sit it out. Hopefully with the speed vias's that are being granted at the moment it means they'll get round to the rest of us quicker! :confused:Fingers X for everyone waiting Jo x
  18. Hi, Its seems almost impossible to know how long appropriately we need to wait before our application will even be looked at. We lodged 176 family in June 2009, not able to get SMP so will remain in cat. 4. Which is fine based on the current financial climate! My dilemma is, should I undertake a 3 year nursing degree while I wait? I really would like a career change and feel if we've got a long wait, I might as well make the most of it, so that when (if) we get a visa, I will be more employable! Just to clarify, the visa application is based on my OH's skill as 'welfare worker' p.s. Any nurses out there who'd like to pm me any advice, would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Helen

Contact details for GSM are listed below. As processing times are dependent on a range of factors, individual processing times may vary considerably from the published estimates. Factors that can impact on processing times include, but are not limited to: - completeness of application - how quickly applicants respond to requests to provide documentation - medical complications - police checks - checks with third parties to verify claims made in an application. Contacting Us Providing additional documents Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit supporting documentation electronically. Providing scanned copies of documents reduces postal and administrative delays in receiving and processing information. GSM processing offices accept scanned copies of original documents (non-certified) provided they are in colour. If you scan documents in black and white, then they must be scanned copies of certified copies. The valid file types for attaching documents are BMP, DOC, DOT, GIF, JPG, PDF, RTF, TXT and XLS. Information which will assist you in attaching documents to your application or in emailing them to the department is available on the department’s website at: Attaching Documents to a General Skilled Migration Visa Application Online applications If you e-lodged this application you are strongly encouraged to attach all the supporting documentation to the application in the web-browser. This is the preferred procedure for providing supporting documents for an e-lodged application. If for any reason you cannot attach documents in the browser then you can email the documents as scanned attachments to the following email address: gsm.documents@immi.gov.au Paper lodged applications If you lodged a paper application you can still provide supporting documentation electronically by emailing the documents as scanned attachments to: gsm.documents@immi.gov.au When emailing documents to the department please quote your Transaction Reference Number (TRN) or file reference number for this purpose. Do not send this office any original documents or provide paper copies of documents previously attached to the browser or sent by e-mail unless asked to do so by a departmental officer. Medical Results If you have undertaken your medical examination with Medibank Health Solutions (formerly Health Services Australia), please do not post your medical results to us unless your case officer requests you to do so. Please store your results in a secure place and do not open the sealed envelope. ENQUIRIES Email Our preferred means of communication for GSM enquiries is email. Before you contact the department with general enquiries about the GSM program, you should first read the relevant website content and links provided in this email. If the website information does not answer your enquiry, please refer below: If you have not lodged a GSM visa application, and would like more information, use the GSM Pre-Lodgement Enquiry Form at: General Skilled Migration Pre-Lodgement Enquiry Form If you have lodged a GSM visa application, but it has not yet been allocated to a case officer, and you have further queries, use the GSM Post-Lodgement Enquiry Form at: General Skilled Migration Post-Lodgement Enquiry Form Allocated to a case officer: Once your application is allocated to a case officer, assessment of your application will begin. At this time, your case officer will provide you with a specific email address and you should correspond directly by email with them. Telephone: 1300 364 613 (in Australia) for the cost of a local call; or +61 1300 364 613 (outside Australia) Contact Hours (Australian Central Time): 0900 to 1600 Monday to Friday Please note: due to the large volume of calls we receive, from time to time you may experience lengthy delays before getting to speak to a customer service officer. GSM Processing email

If it has been mentioned on here earlier sorry, i cannot find it. Why are they not updating their email every 14 days as they state. it appears the 7th jan 11 was their last one....... Have they stopped updating this now - not sure what relevance it is though as they are clearly not issuing Case Officers in date order
  21. That was quick, it's only a short time since the SMP opened. :err: ICT occupations are still needed but of course Victoria also has to attract other occupations. 457 and ENS visas should still be available to ICT applicants.

    Priority processing question

Hi all, In April 2009 i applied for a 176 Family sponsored visa. Since the changes to the SOL my occupation is no longer on the list. Even if i was granted state sponsorship would i still be Catagory 4? (My occupation is on the SA list) I have received a very thorough e-mail from DAIC which clarifys a lot of points but i still have this question from it all. In one statement we are excepemt from the July 2010 changes as we applied in 2009, but in another they said i could only be a priority with Employer sponsorship. Does anyone know??? Thanks Rah Rah

Does it mean that we haven't got a hope in hells chance of being processed in the next 12 months (or ever)? I am just a bit worried and confused! :jiggy:
