  1. hI myself and my family are looking at theses 2 areas are they any good, our pains are 11,9, and 15 months so ideal area would have decent schools and plenty to keep them out of our hair. We are also open to other areas but have been told by our agent these are good although he has no kids.
  2. Hi, Another question for you about the Gold Coast Theme Parks. Can you get special deals into the parks, like you can for Theme Parks here in UK.? Anyone know would be grateful. Thanks

We parked not far from chinatown last time and walked up to the opera house but would like to park a bit nearer if possible to save some time - we also paid $38 as it was a friday - is it cheaper on a the weekend? Thanks Hannah
  5. We were just chatting about the costs involved in Emigrating! Does anyone have any idea how much (roughly) it costs as a whole. So from applying to getting there obviously not buying a house but transporting belongings, fees etc etc. This is probably impossible to answer thinking about it but thought I would ask jsut for a ball park figure :cute:

    Sinnamon Park, 4073

Lets get a few threads going in here and get back to the best days! Lets help those coming to Australia. This is what we are here for: Sell your Brisbane suburb. I`ll start with Sinnamon Park: Sinnamon Park is about 15km from Brisbane's CBD. Households in the area are generally made up of family groups. There is prestige housing starting to appear in this area and there are extensive recreational and retail facilities nearby. The houses tend to be modern brick and tile structures, with exclusive executive style homes becoming more common in this area. There are plenty of parks as well as two golf courses in the district. The median house price in Sinnamon Park in 2006 was roughly $420,000. __________________________________________________ For your children: check your local playground - parks in Brisbane have anything from skatebowls to toddler play. In your area, try Amazon Place Park in Jindalee, Avondale Park, Sinnamon Park, Wendouree Crescent, Westlake or the park off MacFarlane Street in Middle Park for family fun. __________________________________________________ Take the dog: check out the local off-leash areas where Fido can release canine tension. Try Beanland Street in Jamboree Heights, Delapine Place in Seventeen Mile Rocks, Jindalee Boat Ramp Park in Jindalee or Tigris Street in Riverhills. __________________________________________________ Shops: Forgot a few things at the regular grocery shop? Why not leave the car keys behind and pick up what you need on the way home from the bus stop, or take a walk or bike ride to the local shops. Check the map for local convenience centres. The major shopping centres of Jindalee Village and Mt Ommaney Shopping Centre are just a bus ride away. __________________________________________________ Getting fit........ Who's got time? Everyone, if you make exercise part of your everyday life. You could walk to the nearest stop and catch the bus to work, or take the kids to school. 3 x 10 mins daily exercise is recommended for good health. If you like swimming, try Jindalee Olympic Pool on Yallambee Road in Jindalee. For fitness and fun, try your nearest Active and Healthy Park such as Peter Lightfoot Oval, Middle Park. __________________________________________________ The weekend Escape from the city to the great outdoors: and in Brisbane, you don't have to go far. Take a picnic to the local park, try Atthows Park in Darra or the park off Sumners Road, Riverhills, right on the bend of the river. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a round at McLeod Country or Jindalee Golf Courses. __________________________________________________ Facilities: Release your mind at Mt Ommaney Library, where you'll find not only books but also CDs, DVDs, videos, free internet access, even storytelling sessions for children. Phone the library for details. _____________________________________________________________ Next person please..................................................

Im 25 and my partner is 20. We could do with some pubs/shops/restaurants ideally but just want to get a general feel for the place... Any ideas? Cheers! Scott
  10. whats the matter with the weather, feel like we need to be building an arc or emigrtaing lol. how many peeps wondered around thinking are they mmm.............. and whats more how many more went to the gazzebo with kids entertainment ( so much more organised the me) and walked away feeling a right banana. luckly I had the ice cream van turn up just in the nick of time, me and kids off in a shot leaving hubby chatting only to thank me later for abandoning him LMAO................ there was a few peeps checking out everyone who passed but mom always told me never talk to strangers......... hello and thank you to all that did turn up ( didnt feel like such a lemon after all) and was fun putting faces to usernames. good luck to those looking to be in summier clims buy the end of the month soooo no green with envy. got so much from today. info wise and basically everyone doing it for the same reasons and in the same boat one way or another and made some new friends. kath & Paul & gang xxx
  11. Hi Everyone I just thought I'd ask - I assume we will head into one of the pubs if the weather is bad. I don't know any of them except for La Reserve (don't even know if it's called that anymore). Also, can anyone confirm that they are definately going? Thanks Karen

    Sinnamon park

Hi everyone, I thought that I would post some information on here about my suburb. This (hopefully) might start a few new threads about different Brissie suburbs! I just thought that for newbies wanting to move here.........its nice not having to trawl for info if someone can get it for you!!! ______________________________________________________ Sinnamon Park is about 15km from Brisbane's CBD. The OZ way to park

Just wondered from all you lot here in Australia, have you noticed how the aussie's park ?? Im in Adelaide and everywhere I go where there's a large cark park (shopping malls, etc) 99% of the cars are all parked with the front in. It seems that they dont reverse into spaces. I always seem to get a funny look when I reverse into a parking space. Just have a look the next time you go to a shopping mall................

    Koala Park, Sydney

Thinking of going to Koala Park in Sydney ? Forget it !!" Very run down, depressing & neglected. should have been closed down years ago. The few Koalas are great but usually asleep. The rest of the place is neglected and sad, certainly not worth $19.

    sippy downs/chanellor park

I thought i would let anyone know who was interested that we are about to break our lease on a brand new 4 bedroom one storey (bungalow to you and i) home. has double garage, main bedroom with walk in robe and en suite shower. other three bedrooms all with wardrobes. has air con in main living area and fans in all others. small back garden but thats the norm here. Its a really nice home and close to a large wooloworths (the supermarket not the toy shop), petrol station, food outlets, bakers, doctors etc etc. We will be vacating on the 21st November. Only reason for us moving out is we have bought somewhere of our own. All viewings will have to go via the agent but if you are interested pm me and i will give you agents details. I know how hard it is to find a rental before they get snapped up thats why i am letting you know:)
