    advice on Harris Park

Hi guys I want to buy a one bedroom unit. what I can afford is not in good areas. It’s either far or a bad suburb like Auburn. What kind of suburb is Harris Park? I chose it because it might be affordable, close to the city, Parramatta mall nearby. Is it a suburb to avoid living in because of collisions between ethnic groups, robberies, addicts? is it dangerous to walk after 8pm? Please tell me what’s wrong with Harris Park? Or is it not so bad? Replies are highly welcome especially from people living in Harris Park. Thanx Ira

  13. If anyone has kids probably under 10, Everton Park pub has a great play area. Or even if you don't have kids and live close by would be great to meet anyone in the area who likes to enjoy a good pub meal and a drink.
  14. Hi we are moving out of our rental the end of july as we have finally bought a house after two years of being in oz!!!!!!!!!! Our rental is a beautiful new four bedroomed double storey in the popular park lake/ maudsland estate on the Gold Coast, five minutes from the motorways and close to the new park lake state school . It has great views across the hinterland and is in a nice close . Park lake is just next to Pacific pines north Gold Coast. We have a dog so they accept pets and we got the property over the internet without viewing !! It is $430 a week rent and well worth a look if you are thinking of this area. we really love it here in park lake and have bought our house here as you have the best of both worlds, close to shops etc and beautiful views. if anyone is interested pm me first and i will give you further details about the property and the Real estate number. cheers julie
  15. Firstly, hi everyone! Okay, so I've just been offered a job in Keilor Park, Melbourne. Still living in the UK and don't know Melbourne at all. I'm currently not driving so I'm looking for a place that's either within a walking/cycling range or commutable by bus (I'm aware that the buses may still need me to walk/cycle from the stop). Can anyone suggest somewhere to live. Ideally looking for a flat-share as it will just be me moving out there and am 23 years old (male) and a recent university graduate so not looking for family homes or posh neighbourhoods. Just somewhere safe, inexpensive and commutable without a car, although if I start work in a month I might be able to do some accelerated driving course to get myself driving as quickly as I can. Also can anyone make suggestions on prices and if getting about without a car is even possible. The place I'll be working is about two miles (3.2km) off Keilor Park Drive. I haven't accepted the job yet but hope to have a decision ASAP. Any advice welcome, and thanks in advance
  16. Hi, Does anyone know anything about these areas to live in with a young family? How long does it take to travel to the city, schools, community, shops, trains/buses etc? I see from the school results published that Kenmore has a very good state school. Is there much going on there, as it is described as having a 'semi-rural' feel as does Fig Tree Pocket. Thanks Shaz
  17. Hi everyone hubby has a job offer on osbourne park ,We have twin boys who are 14 so need a high school for them weres a good place to live thanks everyone take care andrea, gary, jack, tom,
  18. We are living in Mandurah at the moment, which is a beautiful suburb, but were thinking of moving closer to the city. Does anyone have any views on the suburbs of Cannington, East Cannington and Queens Park? They don't seem to be as expensive as some of the others close to the city and just wondered if it was because they were a real dump!!! Are they really rough? When we first moved over here, we didn't explore different suburbs. We came to Mandurah and loved it, so that's where we settled. Can anyone shed any light on schools and socialising etc in these areas? It's soooo hard when everything is so unfamiliar! I know I'll be fine with the shopping side of things - huge Westfield there!!!! I just don't want to find myself moving to a different area every 6 months! :arghh: Appreciate any help. Lynn x

  21. Hi, bought six tickets yesterday for the unlimited access to the parks offer available to Qld residents. Bought them online at the library, paid by credit card, $360 and printed them off. The printer is behind the counter. Anyway, had a wee read on PIO and when my hour was up I went up for my tickets and they'd given them to someone else!:frown: They then refused to ring the people who were on the computers at that time, even though they only have eight and they have a log and mobile numbers!:arghh: And you have to go through and make sure all the sheets are yours efore you pay for each one, so some bugger thought it was their lucky day. Thankfully the people at Dreamworld were really understanding and agreed to cancel the first set and refund them, and I bought another set. Intend to get my money's worth and use them every weekend with plenty of picnics for cheap and cheerful days out. Sheena

    Doctors - Middle Park Area

Hiya, We have just rented a house in Middle Park, can anyone recommend a good family doctor in that or the surrounding suburbs, prefferbly one that bulk bills. We have just moved to Australia in January and I am pregnant at the moment so we probably cant get cover on private medical. So if anyone has got any advice or information of going through the state medical system whilst pregnant that would be great. Thanks Joanne
  23. Hi, we moved to Oz in April 2008 and have been really lucky with jobs and settling in etc but we miss our friends - especially me- so we need some new ones. I am a young 46 and my husband is an even younger 41 and we like socialising, the Brisbane Lions and music. If you fancy a laugh and a few drinks please let me know.

    Kings Park

Any one fancy a meet up at Kings Park I`ll bting the marshmallos Mally
  25. Well we had a lovely time at the Perth meet up today at Kings Park in the Lotterywest Family play area. Weather wasnt perfect but managed to battle through it and really enjoy ourselves. The children seemed to have a lovely time playing together on all the apparatus and had lots of fun running around and playing games, football, tennis etc. Luckily we were able to use one of the bbq's so made our picnic even better!!! we had loads of food to share amongst all the people who attended so everyone left full. Just want to say thankyou to all of the people that attended and Dirk was glad he took the day off work so he could come aswell and he was really pleased he spent the day dressed fully in Australian gear so people would know who we were as i stated on the Perth meet up thread ,even though he got many strange looks. It made a nice family day out, just the 4 of us!!!! Glad we wasted our time going to the meet up that noone else bothered going too especially after there were people who were desperate to meet up. Glad we drove all the way down there with tons of food for everyone which wasnt all needed. Glad i bothered to arrange the meeting for everyone. Thankyou all for ****ting on us and not even bothering to say you werent coming!!!!! Wont bother trying to help anyone out now, if you wana make friends then find your own :realmad:
