    Roxburgh or Roxburgh Park area

Anyone know whether this area is worth looking at?? We are off to Melbourne on our reccie tomorrow, and still have no ideas on where to look! This is all getting very frustrating! Firstly, we picked Point Cook... now we are told that the schooling there is inferior to other areas. If you go to the school websites, you have to put in names. How??? We don't know the area! There seems to be alot of negativity about the suburbs in and around Melbourne, and we are loathed to pick the wrong one. If it were just us two, we'd not be too concerned. We have two small boys, and need the right area, with good education to boot. Any thoughts on areas would be gratefully received.... Please, please, please.... I am not married to David Beckham, so be realistic on areas with houses normal people can afford! We have a fabulous house on the Gold Coast, and know we won't get the same in/around Melbourne ~ but we would still like someone nice, with a garden for the woofer! Thanks everyone........... x :notworthy:

  5. Hi,I've been living in Manly for approx. 3 years and have little kids 4 and 7 and we often go to Little Manly Beach. On busy summer days there, it feels silly that there is a small park space, and almost no shade. Yet there are 4 houses on the foreshore that take up a great amount of space. Council zoned that land as open space 40 years ago to one day become a park. I know lots of people would benefit from a park being there, but I'm not sure anyone cares. There's a Manly council meeting this Monday 14 Feb at which developers will ask the council to change the land to residential so it will never become a park. An email to the councillors (examples of 2 below) could influence the decision of council. Jean Hay email jean.hay@manly.nsw.gov.au phone 9976 1501 Cathy Griffin email cathy.griffin@manly.nsw.gov.au phone 0414719513. I'm keen for it to become a park, but am wondering if other people feel the same way? Any views?
  6. For those interested, there is an event today at Manly, movies in the park. Movies in the Park | Manly Harbour Village Manly Creative Markets, Food & Kids Amusements from 3.00 pm and movie starts at 7pm. All proceeds go to Qld Flood Relief Appeal. We will be there  Cheers B!K3R
  7. We are looking to move south in the later part of the year. We have been looking at properties around these areas but really don't know if some are quieter or more porblematic than others. We would very much like to be within walking/cycling distance of a christian school for our younger children (yr 10 and yr 6 NT). Can anyone let us know if any of these areas are more appealing than others or if a move to somewhere like Redcliffe/Deception Bay would be more advantageous. We like peace and quiet but in a nice small community. Our requirements are about 30 mins communte to Brisbane Airport and close to a christian school. Any opinions on schools would also be helpful. Thank you

  14. I am relocating from Adelaide on the weekend. I will be working at the PAH and don't mind driving 30/40 minutes. We are a family of five and have two kids at school age. We would klike a 3/4 bed house, pet friendly and pref a pool. I am hoping to look at a prop in Regents park and Algester so would love any info on the two places. Also I have seen advertised on the rental side lots of properties on complexes with shared pools has anybody had any experiences of these or should I stay away from them. Any advice would be great.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me an insight into the area and school. It seems a lovely area and nice school, but its always so difficult to know unless you live in the area isn't it! Anyway, thanks for reading! Claire xx

We are looking for a 4bed house, would not mind if it's not brand new as outside space is more essential to us. Looking to pay around $350 p/w...Close to schools, shops etc.... Excellent references can be provided too. Anyone breaking a lease maybe? Thanks a lot
  20. Hi, I'm possibly moving to Aus soon, the offices where i will be based are in Macquarie Park, i was was wondering if anyone knew where the best areas for housing would be within commuting distance, i'd be looking at a budget of around 450k, looking at some of the posts on here most seem to shy away from the western suburbs, ideally we would want a 4 bed (and kids want a pool ) but I'm unsure of the areas/locations suitable for a family with 3 kids etc. Any help would be most graciously recieved...

  22. Hi we moved to Oz back in April 2010 and have settled in Mount Warren Park Area. I am 35 my wife is 31 and we have two sons aged 10 and 12. We are looking to find some friends basically interested in the same things as we are which include but are not limited to drinking, going to the beach, BBQ's, days out and about and just basically having fun. This is more for my wife as she doesnt work or drive. Pretty much I am busy in work. We are normal people and a normal family with a sense of humour! Anyone on the same level and interested please give us a shout. Cheers.
  23. Hi, After researching areas whilst on my reccie, I have narrowed it down to Jindalee and Sinnamon Park. Can anyone tell me what Jindalee State School and Centenary High School are like, as I think its the same schools for both areas? They seem to have good results on the NAPLAN tables, but has anyone got any experience of kids being at the schools that can tell me more about them? I did like the newer estates such as Windermere, and there was another which I cant remember the name of, but houses here seemed very pricey. Do any PIO members live here who can give a better idea of what the areas are like? My sister lives in Corinda and I thought it wasnt too far away here. Thanks Shaz
  24. Does anybody here have any idea about Renown Park, i mean how is it as a place to live for a family, schools in the area, distance from the city, transportation etc. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
