I have a few bikes here in the UK and would love to take at least one over but is it going to be worth it? What sort of costs are involved and how do you get it re-registered? The bike is an oldish one and not worth loads - about £1000 Tom

I just wanted to tell you all how much i love my Mark He sold his much loved, very precious Motor bike today (VTR 1000 Firestorm). He is a very sad, Heart broken Man. We hope to be ready to go to OZ this time nx yr and wanted to sell it now incase nx summer it doesn't sell for the right price, and then we are stuck with it before we leave. Also i bought it for his 30th bday, and i think he felt he could use the money to get me something special for mine. (of course there is no need,... just the one Diamond will do) but it does mean we can put it in the Aus fund. Thanks Mark Leanne xxxx

Please can anyone help or confirm what they paid in import tax, to take a Motorbike (SP2 Honda 1000), into Adelaide, we are having it shipped in a container with the rest of our goods, or would it be easier to sell the bike here and buy a new one in oz. Any info much appreciated Thanks Sarah & Dave (Oliver 9 weeks old)

Hi all, OH wanted to be able to ride a motorbike over in Oz. He hasn't actually passed his motorbike test over here yet, so I just wondered whether if he passed it here would that be recognised in Oz. I have to say that I don't know alot about bikes, but I think the crash course he would have here is over a week and would cost about £600. Or if it's not recognised in Oz then is it probably easier to wait till he gets to Oz to do the test (I take it there is a test needed<) , and if so has anyone got any ideas how much it is going to cost if he does the test in Oz? Any advice very much appreciated as he has wanted to do this for years!!!:eek: Thanks Heather

Hi All :wink: I am awaiting my visa before moving down under & joining the Oz Army, that being said, I'm trying to prepare, I have owned my Yamaha R1 T reg 99 from new which I want to take with me. Can anybody give a rough estimate on the cost & procedures of importing such a motorbike. Your help is appreciated Neil
