I want to go back at some point for up to 12 months on the Long Stay Visitor Visa (600£ Will they grant it to me and can I apply for permanent visas once the visitor visa ends? Also are there any other visa that I could do this with?

    How Long for Vettasses

Thought it would be a good idea if PIO members passed on how long it took them to get their skills assessed with Vetasses as this seems to be a big talking point. Hopefully this will let other members know how long their application may take (including me).
  10. Hi All, This is my first thread and will probably be pestering you all over the coming months as i am just about to tackle the 175 visa process head on without the aid of a migration agency........:-/ Does anyone have any helpful tips or advice on the application process and any hidden nasties I should look out for? I am an Automotive Electrician with 5 years experience but no qualifications in this area........ does this matter? I also have a level 2 Apprenticeship in the application of engineering techniques and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering. How do I go about getting a skills assessment for an Automotive Electrician with only the 5 years experience to go on? Can I just get references from my employer (or preferably my supervisor so I don’t need to tell my employer yet) and send them in a nice e-mail and await the outcome? Thank you for your time, Mark p.s. if I can be of any help to anyone let me know.
  11. Hi there Just wanted to know if anyone has any exact ideas how long it can take for the employers that are sponsoring you to start their sponsorship process?? My partner is going to work for someone that has never done sponsorship before, so does it take longer, or is this something we would have to follow up with a migration agent???
  12. Hi I am just wondering whether any people in this forum help me with bridging visa B process. ^^ I am currently holding bridging visa A as a result of submission of graduate visa, and am planning to go back to my home country for holiday end of November, 2011, which is a week and half later....and actually haven't got air ticket..(I am sure I can get one if I look for it ^^) I thought there will be no issue regarding granting bridging visa B as I believe payment of bridging visa B with an evidence of my flight surely ok and department officer will just grant my bridging visa B straight away. But this is what I thought, I would like to know whether this is true. So my question is; 1. How long does bridging visa B process? Could anyone kindly explain about the procedure? 2. For the substantial reason, I don't actually have this, I just wanna go back as I miss my country and family, but for the safety, I might need to write down that I will attend my cousin's wedding rather than vague words like "domestic issues", right? Also, in that case, should I submit an evidence for the substantial reason? (e.g wedding invitation?) 3. Could anyone know what documentations should I bring to the office for bridging visa B?? Any help would be really appreciated!! Thank you!!
  13. Just wondering how long did it take for your garda clearance to come through. We have our VETASSESS back and IELTS done and sent off yday for state sponsorship. So wondering now what should we be doing to get ready to apply for visa. Will be year unemployed by April so need to have visa lodged by then to ensure points for experience
  14. My husband flys to Perth on the 3rd Jan and has 10 nights booked in a hotel in central Perth. He's not sure what to do after this as short tem lets don't seem to be economical for 1, so he thought it would be best to look for flat share whilst he is in Perth. Myself and the rest of the family will arrive later (March?) once Jon has a job or our house sells. Given it will take a few months to get the furniture shipped I assume we will need to get a short term let then a long term let. The kids are 8 and 6 so will be in school when we are in the short term let - but I was hoping not to have to move them when we rent long term. How did you get on with this? If we are booking the short term let only a month ahead of arriving what if we just end up settling where we can get a place to stay.
  15. Hi all, Has anyone on here ever had to sudmit their WHV via paper application, and if so how long did it take to receive the visa? Thanks in advance
  16. How long has it took those who have to move from start to end and how much did it cost you in the end? What was your 1st steps?

  18. Hi just a quick question we are hoping to move to the sunshine coast next year and I was just on a school website and read the High school starts from year 8. Is this right and does this mean they get an extra year in primary school as my eldest son is now in year 6 here in the U.K. and is getting ready for High school. Thanks Karen x
  19. Hi All, I'm new on here but have been reading many forums from you guys and I must say thank you all so much for the info you give. I've learnt so much about moving to Oz. Myself my husband and my 3 children (18,15,and 13) would love to get the chance to move out to Perth. My husband is in the Building industry and has been offered a job with a sponsorship on a 457 visa. However our employer has never sponsored before so we are still waiting for his approval, which is taking so long ! It's 11 weeks now is this normal? It's driving us all mad because we're in complete limbo. We can't plan anything. We're not sure if it's our employer that's holding Immigration up or Immigration holding him up, I know that he said to us they're asking for an awful lot of info from him a lot more than he anticipated! What would be the reasons they wouldn't approve his business please? He is a small building company that hasn't employed many people before, he has mainly used sub contractors. But he wants to expand to a larger business with my husband who is a bricklayer by trade but has experience in project managing large projects. We have 2 dogs to consider and we were hoping to fly out before the changes to the quarrantine from 1st Jan. I have them booked in for December because I thought this process would be completed by now ! Just don't know what to do whether to cancel this booking in case he gets refused. My oldest daughter is 18 and needs to plan Uni if we don't go she needs to apply in the UK by Jan, and if she goes to Uni in Perth I think they start in Jan ! I managed to get my other 2 kids into school over in Perth too again they were suppose to start in Feb. Now I'm not sure whether any of this is going to happen! Arrrgghh Any way sorry to ramble on but any advice would be great. Thank you in advance

    It's been too long

Hey there, I'm a 42 year old black female, and my husband and I left S.E London last November. I am still in a position where I am finding it increasingly difficult to meet lady types to go for coffee, ice cream, a walk in the park, shopping etc and just to hang out with. I am currently 26 weeks pregnant, am able to move around quite well and am relatively active. I use public transport to get around and live approximately 20 minutes from the CBD, just up he road from Brunswick. I am hoping to meet ladies who are looking for friendship as I have spent way too much time being a "domestic godess" at the weekends when I can be doing "ladies things". Hope to hear from you .
  21. Just wondering if anyone can help me set expectations for when our visa will be granted (assuming everything is all ok). Our meds are showing as "health requirements finalised" on the status page and we have uploaded all of the additional information requested by the CO. We are being processed by Megan Peachy of team 2 in adeleide. App was submitted on 4 feb this year and we were contacted by the CO about 1month ago. Visa is a 176 family sponsored. Many thanks

    How Long Is It?

Stop it,, I mean your 'fuse'.:wubclub: I guess this changes with time (well it certainly has with me anyway) but how long is the old fuse these days. When I was teenager I had a fuse that was never lit, very, very laid back me, THEN. But I guess as I got a lot older the fuse dwindled in length and I would often find myself ranting and raving at the slightest things some times,:embarrassed::no:. Never boiled over into 'rage' I guess and never used physical force to make a point, but at times I guess you could say that I was a total moron. But now approaching the big 50,:no: I find myself reverting back to my teenage years to a degree, where it takes a LOT to get the old juices flowing. Probably more to the point, I pick and choose my arguments now, and for the most part can argue with reasoned head without blowing my top. Don't get me wrong, there are times when I do blow my stack, but now the more 'important' issues (as I see them anyway) make me feel this way. Most things in my life that ONCE I would have been riled with are of little consequence now, or rather I deal with them far better and don't let it upset me (not to the outside world anyway,) But has your 'fuse' changed, worse, better and the like. I guess it also depends on things that have happened in your life, past experience if you will, sort of nature versus nurture I would imagine. But I am at a place in my life where I can now 'target' what I get riled with and I and those around me (who would say I was a complete and utter DICK at times,:biglaugh:) are a lot happier for it. And if I do get truly riled now I have discovered that there is more than one way to skin a cat, without leaving a trace,:wink::biglaugh: PS. Take no notice of my avatar, that is Tarquin, (lives in the wardrobe and OK as long as the 'meds' work,:goofy:) who often uses my laptop. Cheers Tony.

    Long stay visa

Hi guys been 2 years and have the Aussie bug again. Recap 2 years ago we looked to moving to Australia but the parents visa was going to cost £80.000. My wife is an only child. Have applied for a job in Perth and things are looking good my wife won't leave without her parents. If they go for the Long stay visa 12 months how many times can they extend it. They are selling thier house so will have over 100.000 in the bank. They will not go for the parent visa because of the cost. Anybody have any other ideas this is the best i can come up with at the minute. Really need to go as this country is going to the dogs. Thanks Macas

    How long for dog permit?

Hi guys, Just wondering what your personal experience was of getting the import permit? We applied online today - the site says 15 working days and someone else mentioned that it takes at least a month. Would love to know how long it took to come through for people on the site ... Thanks! Kate.
