  1. We are renting a 3 bedroom neat and well maintained unit in Cleveland but are planning to move closer to the city. We still have 3 months rent, its a secure complex and has a shared pool. It also comes with a 1 car garage and a small garden. We're planing to move out by end of April. Rent is $350 a week. Here is a link to the complex.   2. Hi all I know this is a long shot - but we're moving out there in April and we have an aspiration to live in ocean reef - largely school related. Searches of reiwa and the like reveal suitable properties but normally with very little notice - i.e. its available next week. Does anyone have any knowledge of any houses coming up beginning April or that you want to break lease on around this time? We're looking in the area bounded by Hodges drive, Marmion & Shenton aves and the ocean. Appreciate you reading this Regards

    Breaking a lease has anyone done it?

    we are planning on moving back to UK in July, problem is that we rent here and our lease is up for renewal in April,and we don't want to move out of here before we finally move.once will be enough! I know if we break the lease we will lose our deposit, has anyone else been in this situation and how did you handle it?

    Hi I was hoping someone could help. We rent from a private landlord and have signed a 12 month lease. However we are wanting to break the lease because I have started a new job and I am struggling in the morning getting my son to the breakfast club at school. I dont drive and its a 30 min walk to school and then 2 buses to work. We are wanting to rent nearer to school. If we break our lease would this have an effect on renting another property. Do the agents know we have broke our lease. We would like our bond back but if we cant we would understand. Thanks Jill xxx

  8. Hi All Not been on for a while. Given 60 days notice to leave rental. So went out and found a place and hoping to be out by Xmas eve. Only need to give them 14 days notice, so hopefully give them as big a surprise as we got ! Anyway, looking for carpet cleaners, removalists and maybe house cleaners. We live in Doncaster East 3109. House is 3 bed 2 bath single level. For removals probably just after man with van (well 2 blokes) to move the big stuff and we will probably pack stuff ourselves (anyone got packing boxes !!) Hi, I just need some information, We are renting an apartment in Brisbane, QLD, we are ending the lease and made the estate agent aware 2 weeks ago, we still have 2 months and 3 weeks left on the lease, we received a text tonight telling us that they will be showing prospective tenants around our place on Saturday, obviously I understand this needs to be done but it seems ridiculously early. I guess my question is where do we stand on how often they are allowed to do this as we have other things to do than spend all our time waiting in our home and constantly having strangers walking around it for the next 3 months? Again, we are aware that it is the right of the agent to show people through but how often? Any info would be appreciated,:confused:

    breaking our lease

    we are in thornlands brisbane and have to break our lease on our property if any one would like to take it over it is a 4bedroom with a pool 410.00 per wk. pm if interested. annemarie
  11. hello, can we do multiple lease applications in parallel or does the application form filled is a comittment (i.e. we can not say no, or have to pay something if we decline)? Does generally people pay reservation fees? how long do landlords answer back to the applications (generally speaking)? any hint for application would also be welcome ;-) thanks a lot :wubclub:
  12. We are having to break our lease (husband has a new job) and wondered if anyone is interested. It is a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom double storey property in central joondalup just up from lake joondalup. Very modern, beautiful home. Balconies to front and rear. Front balcony huge with uninterupted view over lake joondalup. Walking distance to shops, bars and restraunts, uni, hospital and train station.   13. Hello, My lease end date says "circa 6 months" which means "approximately 6 months". I am leaving exactly 4 weeks before the exact 6 months duration; which can be interpreted as "approximately 6 months" but the landlord asserts I'll have to pay these 4 weeks... I need to know who is true and if I am, how can I handle that... Thank you very much.

  15. Hi, we are moving back home on 18th January and have a 12 month lease in Berwick. Will i let the estate agents know A.S.A.P or just move without telling them? What will or can they do? will we loose our bond and have to pay 3.5% of annual rent to them. Don't know anyone who can take over lease unless someone ready to come over sees this and wants to take a 3 bedroom home on @ $320 a week. I would really like to let them know but don't want to be paying them more money. Gillian

  17. Hi All, I am seeking advise regarding my current situation. We have been renting a brand new house in Sanctuary Lakes for the past month. One of the main points for taking the house was a fibre optic connection. However, due to problems with the builders this has still not been installed. I had arranged for connection for the week we moved in, however, the Estates People informed me that they couldn't connect due to the cabling box not having been fitted. The property manager has tried to get things sorted, however, it appears as though the builders have buried the cables under the house. They don't want to dig it up and now want to employ specialists to retrieve the cabling. This is now 4 weeks into the lease, we cannot get TV, Internet or a phone line. We are having to rely on mobiles and a 3G dongle, you all know how good they are. I just don't know where I stand, and have no idea who to contact as to what my rights are. We paid 6 months rent up front and feel that because of this we have no leverage against the landlord to get it sorted. My family are feeling very cut off from home, one call home to my Daughter for an hour ran up a bill of $130. We cannot keep paying these fees just to keep in contact with family and friends back home. We really like living here and don't want to face the prospect of moving again, and I am not even sure what our rights are. Not sure if you can classify Phone, internet as essential services. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The property is based in Lockleys which is 10 mins from the city and 15 mins from beach. Within walking distance to local shops. Bus stop 2 mins away with buses every 15 mins. Central Queensland! :jiggy: We have given notice to our current letting agent as we were supposed to be staying there until 2nd October! They have begun advertising, but since we are supposed to be going ASAP I thought I would post a quick note on here!!   23. Hi We are looking into the posibility of emigrating on aCPV 173 or 143 (undecided as yet). I am female 57 years old so will be around pension age if/when it happens my husband is 2 years younger than me so has working life in front of him. We have a little money (not as much as we would like after paying for CPV etc etc) and I am not ready for retirement just yet, frankly would be bored to tears :cute: We would love to have a little bit of land for a hobby farm just on a small scale free range chickens and the like, but bottom line is we wouldnt have enough money for land and everything else that goes with it. In the UK a lot of farmers rent what is known as 'church land' and farm for years from them, there are certain exclusions as to what you can do. Does anyone know of anything similar in Australia...... If we were to go to Australia it would be Queensland on the Southern Gold Coast as that is where my daughter and grand daughters are, they live in a suburb about 20 minutes drive from Surfers Paradise but we dont have to be on their doorstep, even a couple of hours drive away would be good.
