    Conviction, is this an issue!

I, at some point will have to declare the one conviction i have and was wondering if it would affect my chances of gaining my visa. Back in the summer of 2004 i recieved an on the spot fine, complete with a public order conviction, from taking a leak in a back alley. Obviously not anything too serious as im sure a great number of people at some point have done the same but i was'nt fortunate enough to get away with it! Can anybody shed any light on this conviction as i dont known how deeply this could affect my chances of getting my visa application approved. Thanks Chris

    RSMS: Qualifying Visa Issue

Hi All, I have a question regarding the qualifying visa's for the RSMS Visa. I have got my nomination from the Center of Excellence which is the second step for RSMS. Now I'm all set to apply for PR. But the issue is that I have my mum as dependant in the Nomination form and she is holding a tourist visa subclass 676 and is currently here in australia with me, while I hold a Class VC- 485( which is listed in the qualifying visa for RSMS) Can anyone tell me if it is mandatory for the dependant to also hold a qualifying visa?? Should I be applying an onshore RSMS (subclass 857) visa or a offshore RSMS (subclass 119) visa?? Will really appreciate some advise and help with this. Thanks Andy

  6. Hi All; I and my husband had just lodged our application for 857 visa through our migration agent last month under Employer Nomination Scheme. We were told by our migration agent yesterday that our application was handed already by DIAC case officer and unfortunately, there is a tough problem on it on employer's information and etc. Our migration agent added that our papers as employee/s are all fine and satisfied the DIAC case officer. However, the problem of our application relates to our employer's papers. My query is that, would our application for 857 be cancelled because of this problem? Our employer as well was not then told by our agent. He said that he can work on it. I'm just a bit worried as to what would be the after effect on it. Would the DIAC will advise us to move for another employer?
  7. Hi there, I'm quite new on here but have been reading and learning a lot on here over the last couple of weeks. I was up until 3am this morning reading about the discrimination some poor people on here have suffered due to having disabilities. We are at the stage where we are about to submit for a 176 SS visa but have just realised that my son's medical condition could mean that he fails the medical. He has been diagnosed as having a significant expressive language and speech disorder or phonological disorder. His speech therapist mentioned that he has an aspect of Dyspraxia but I just called the hospital and they said that they wouldn't give him that label, it's not in any reports (as far as I know) so there's no need to put that on any forms. He is 4 years old, very bright and has no other problems except for his speech, which is improving all the time due to Speech Therapy and all the work we do with him at home. I have to say that I am really gutted at the thought that this dream could be all over for us and am not really sure what to next. Do we get a medical done for him now to find out if he will pass before wasting time, money etc on the visa (have already spent on agent and Vetassess fees) or do we just give up?? We were going to try and get a job offer then go this year on a 457 visa, but what's the point if we will have to come back after 4 years? I'd be really grateful of any advice.

    457 Visa - Employment issue

Hi, we are in the process of getting our 457 visa which is now at the final stage. Had an e-mail from my sponsor on Friday saying that due to the time the visa has taken (which has taken 12 weeks so far but delay due to nomination issues), he has had to give the position to someone else. Has anyone else come across this and if so where do we stand bearing in mind we have met all of the migration costs to date and have both left our jobs and sold our house as we were informed that due to our circumstances the process would be pretty straight forward? Any advice welcomed

Schedule 4 of the SOL issue

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can verify if what I have read (a lot) is true. I'm 27 years old, British, single and have a bachelors degree in Business and Marketing. My stepmother is an Australian Citizen and my dad a permanent resident. I have more than the needed points (105) with my role as a marketing specialist. However, this role is on Schedule 4 of the SOL list. I understand that Schedule 4 involves the person to be state of tertiary sponsored. Although, when I look at the details of say subclass 176 or 475 for example it says you can either be state or family sponsored. Can you tell me if one aspect overrides another. E.g. Because my family could sponsor me does that mean I don’t need to be state/territory sponsored even though my role is on Schedule 4? I very much appreciate your time. Kind regards, J

    Medical Issue, very worried

My problem is: my husbands company is going to transfer us ( + 2 children) to Austraila so a job is sorted but my question is: I have rheumatoid arthritus (not serious at early stages) and am not on any medication not really a problem but i had post-natal depression for a long time of which i claimed Incap benefit as it was bad... I have noticed that in form 26 they ask you about government assitance and am extremley worried about this. Is this form just for my husband to complete or me aswell. Will this damage me getting on my husbands visa? I am not going to claim any benefit if we get into Australia... I hated this and have worked all my life and the plan is to get back into employment. What should I do for the best? Any advice would be greatly appreciate... Should we give up on our dream? Please help
  14. ARGGGGHhhhhhhhhh Just been through the check list for the Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) Visa (Subclass 176) and came across the last check list box (and prob on any visa requirement!!!) Military discharge papers!!!!! One slight issue, while I was in for 4 years, I was a good boy, however, when you join at 16 your told 'never fall in love or it will be the end of your career' 4 years later I meet my misses and the rest is history....basicaly my papers say 'SNR' (services no longer required, long story:wink:, it should say 'honourable discharge' but things happend, like they said 'never fall in love'!!!) 7 years on I am now thinking this will ruin my chances of getting a visa. Its a long shot but anyone been in a similar boat stressed, major stress!!! any sort of advice will do

  16. Hi being the born worrier that i am my mind is working over time and would be grateful if any one has any thoughts on my problem  When i was looking through the form for the medical it has a statement " have you ever had government financial assistance for a medical condition " My husband back in 2004 hurt is back at work then 12 months ago had to go onto the sick as due to the repetitive heavy lifting of a ton of profile every day , and his company has since gone into in solvency April 2010. After an MRI scan and referral to an orthopaedic specialist he was found to have a slight protrusion of a disc and advised to find other employment which would not have such physical demands. He was also referred to a pain team for management, but found benefit in acupuncture and alternative remedies and so was discharged from that service. He does not take prescribed medication and due to having extended time away from the heavy lifting he has now returned to general fitness and now does occassional permitted work as a tai chi instructor. My worry is that he maybe refused his visa due to claiming the benefit. He is now able to work and plans to teach tai chi in Australia as he does here in uk. He has now been discharged from all orthopaedic and pain services since June this year, but we have contacted his consultant for a letter to say he is able to work and that he will not require any surgury in the near future. OMG !!!! im really stressing and would appreciate your help :hug::hug: Thankyou in advance Migration agents if you out there please advise. Annette

  19. Hi guys, about to fill in the 1276 for a 176 visa and I know that one thing it asks you relates to your previous trips to Australia but for some reason I can't find any record of the tourist visa I got when I went to Aus back in 2007. It was one of those electronic ones so there's nothing in my passport. They don't need the visa number just the date the visa was issued and where. Does anyone know what Government department etc. I can email or call to find this out? If anyone has the actual email address or phone number that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Subclass 485, Ielts issue

Hi, everyone, I am new to here. I have some problems related to the Subcalss 485....As what I read on the immi.gov.au website, it says that ppl could submit 485 application without having the IELTS result, and having 28days to attach suitable result after the application lodged... Here is my case, I just graduated in Aus, and I need ielts 6 to get the 485 visa granted. However, my student visa will expire in 5 days. I want to lodge the application without IELTS, since I dont want to have another student visa. I have booked 2 ielts exams, one is on the coming Sat, and the other is on 18th of Sep. At the time I get this two IELTS results, it is still within 28days. Just wondering, (1) does it mean, if I could get suitable IELTS result later, I just need to attach the report forms asap, then I wont get the visa refused due to the IELTS reason? Since I dont wanna get refused! Btw, does the news on Immi website say that I need to sit the IELTS exam before I logde the application or any tests dates (no matter before or after the application )would be fine (as long as could attach suitable result within 28days) (2) at the time I am doing my application, do i need to attach any IELTS booking recepits? Thank you everyone Che
  23. Hi guys, Just about to post the pmv application, have front loaded it, just waiting for the police check to arrive, sent off last week so should be any day now. Heard a few rumblings on the forum about delay it processing time, was told 3-4 months but now hearing 5-6, not sure if this applies to pmv, any advice? The main problem we have is that we are looking to travel on Jan 8, now if the processing is 5 months plus then it's very tight. I have heard that you can travel on an evisitor whilst the pmv is being processed, is this true? So this is where it gets interesting, I already have an evisitor thatn expires on Jan 20, 12 days after we are due to leave. Is there a way of extending the current evisitor or applying for another before the current one expires to cover all bases? Fingers crossed it doesn't come to this but want a fall back policy... Any advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Andy.
