Hi all, I have been in contact with IOM UK (International Organisation for Migration), they can do flights for us cheaper then we found online from our more local airport of Birmingham rather then going down to Heathrow. The flights will be with Emirates and we will get the double baggage allowance of 40kg each. I just wanted to check they were ok, and if anyone has booked flights through them before? Thanks all, Lucy.

Hi Has anyone used IOM (International Organisation for Migration) to book a one way fare to Oz? According to the 176 Visa Paperwork I got, I believe they can get you reduced fares and extra baggage allowance, however, I have had no joy contacting them - no reply to several emails or messages left on voicemails (which is pretty bad for an international organisation that is supposed to help people!!). I guess my question is; - is it worth pursuing them - am I going to save any money really? - is there any other way to get a reduced/subsidised fare with extra baggage allowance? - what extra baggage allowance does each of the airlines offer? Thanks

Hi All, just looking for a quick bit of feedback if anyone has any. I have been quoted a fantastic price to fly to oz in Jan. There doesn't seem to be any cathces, they just need the grant letter and the payment lodged. Has anyone any experience of them? Will be paying in the next day or so, but wanted to check beforehand. Thanks in advance, D

Hi, In the paperwork that came with my Visa Grant, there was reference to cheap migration flights via IOM Australia. Has anyone taken advantage of these and are they worth it. I did send off an enquiry but we are still undecided on exactly when we are going so they can´t quote. They did give terms and conditions, however, which seem a bit restrictive ie. credit cards not accepted, no stopovers, etc.

You cant pay by credit card tho, only: -International telegraphic to IOM Canberra -International money order -Bank Cheque They have quoted Qantas for a good price. Have you used thjem or had any experience of using them? Thanks

Hi everyone Myself, my wife and teenage kids have just got our PR visa's and on the grant letter it gives a website for IOM. When you look at the site it gives an email address as IOMAustralia@iom.int so that new PR visa holders can get concessions on flights and stuff. I've tried but the email won't send. Does anybody know what i'm doing wrong? Murky

Hi Just wondering if anyone has booked their flights through the IOM and if so what they thought. Have had prices back from them and they look reasonable, roughly the same as with the airline direct, but we would get extra baggage allowance totalling 40KGs each. Just wondering what experiences people have had with the IOM or which airline people have found the best for actaully migrating to Australia for the additional baggage allowance. Thanks Nicola & Sean:spinny:

Thought this might be of interest.................Heres an update on an enquiry I made to the IOM (International Organization for Migration) for assisted one way travel for migrants. For the six of us, we we're quoted £3457 on line with Quantas (£595 per adult) and through the IOM it works out at £2369 (£355 per adult) ............ thats a saving of £1088 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :swoon: I reckon its definately worth contacting them for a quote............ But remember you can't have long stop overs, its more or less direct I think !!! Below is a quote and check-in baggage allowance for one way travel for you and your family from London to Melbourne (for 5 ADT / 1 CHD / 0 INF), based on the departure in November 2007. The cost is in US dollar (USD). ROUTING: LHR/MEL UNIT COST NUMBER TOTAL AIRLINE(S): Qantas BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: 40KG per seated passenger FARE ADULT (USD) 702.00 5 3,510.00 FARE CHILD (Less than 12 years) USD 515.00 1 515.00 FARE INFANT (Less than 2 years, not occupying a seat) USD n.a. 0 - Service Fee p/p (USD) *does not apply to infant 110.00 6 660.00 TOTAL ESTIMATE TRAVEL COSTS (USD) USD 4,685.00

Hi all Just wondered if any one has contacted or used the IOM in Canberra (International Organization for Migration) for their flights to OZ. In the confirmation VISA letter, It mentions that migrants can get reduced one-way flights with extra baggage allowance through the IOM, with some main companies. Im thinking about e-mailing them out of curiousity................. I will let you all know when I hear, it might be quite a bit cheaper (There's always hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!).
