    IELTS - Free revision material

Hello all: I passed my IELTS exam recently (got level 9 - but then I am British so I'd hope to do OK at it). So I've got some revision material I no longer need that's free to a good home. The books I've got are the following: 1. Top Tips for IELTS General Training (book with CD) 2. Official IELTS Practice Materials (updated March 2009 - with CD) 3. Official IELTS Practice Materials 2 (with CD) I've written on a few pages in the books in pencil, but these can be easily rubbed out (can't find my eraser). I'm going to operate on a first-come-first-served basis. So if you want the books please PM me your address and I'll post them to you. Thanks! Simon

My boyfriend moved to Sydney in July from Ireland - I'm from Sydney - and we'd love to meet up with some other "new" arrivals for a few drinks and to make some new friends! If anyone is keen please let me know, thinking somewhere in the city would be most handy. Cheers! Elise & Sean

    Free tickets for victorians

Have you guys seen this website http://www.globall.com.au/ I know a few migrants who have been to the Essendon matches and enjoyed them but lets not start a AFL team argument of who is the best Lol A
  16. Hey all Im at the very beginning & still very much doing my homework. I have seen many migration agents offering a 'free' online eligibility assessment. I am keen to do this before i start contacting & ultimately choosing a migration agent. Is it possible to complete these assessments before 100% deciding what i want to do? I am not in a position to start the Visa aplication straight away but would like an idea of what my chances of success would be. I dont want to get stung with a bill or stuck with a migration agent because i complete an assessment. Has anyone else done this & then changed agent &/or waited some time before officialy starting the process??
  17. Both Free Spirit and Geoffrey Nathan are 3rd party companies who are used by some prospective employers as third party employers when applying for a 457 Visa. (This is normally for smaller companies who don't have experience with sponsoring and don't want to deal with the administrative hassles) Does anyone have any experience of dealing with these companies? Any advice or tips I should consider? I'm still job hunting but a few recruiters have given me the heads up that working with either of the above will broaden my prospects - any advice you guys have will be great.
  18. I am looking at buying some oakley sunglasses for our trip to melbourne, and wondered if they are cheaper to buy in duty free at heathrow, Kuala lumper or Melbourne airport or just in oz Hope someone can help please

    condition free visa??

Hi does anybody know what a "condition free permanet resident visa is "? Thanks
  21. yes, its true. Orders over £25, mainly books, cds and dvds, not third party seller stuff but a very good deal. So fill your boots with books at a third of what you'd pay in Oz, and with free postage ! Amazon.co.uk: Low Prices in Electronics, Books, Sports Equipment & more site only
  22. Just had the following email from Singapore Airlines! Don't think this is common knowledge as cant find it advertised on their website anywhere! Unfortunately we are not eligible for it as going on a 457....although we were initially told we were so trying to get some more for free!!! Imagine if we just turned up with 40kg each!!! "If passengers holding an unused/unstamped/not validated migrant visa that specifically states they are permitted to remain in Australia indefinitely / permanently, then they will be entitled to double baggage allowance (40 kilos, per passenger). This visa has to be used for the first time to enter into Australia and the double baggage will be granted after, the visa has been verified by our staff at the check-in counter on the day of their departure. For reference, passengers holding Work / Business / Students / Working-Holiday / Partner Visas, or visas that have already been stamped / validated, will not be eligible for double baggage allowance. "
  23. I've just moved over to Sydney from Manchester and was previously a Police Advanced Motorcyclist. Whilst looking for work out here I'd like to offer my experience to any fellow motorcyclists for free (a donation towards fuel costs is all I ask). I live in West Ryde but can travel any where in Sydney, we can either have a short ride out or have an extended day out which ever you prefer. Anyone interested, must have their own motorcycle and all the right gear. If anyone is interested or they just want a ride out for the day then please either private message me or reply to this post and i'll get straight back to you. Nat:policeman:
