    Question about NT nomination

Hello everyone, I'm just starting the NT nomination process. I need some clarification. After submitting the EOI successfully, do I need to wait for some approval before proceeding with my NT nomination application? From what I read, there doesnt seem to be a reason to wait if I have all docs ready for NT nomination application. Any clarification on this would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. Hello everybody, I'm about to lodge an EOI for 190 Visa & need some help on which state to choose (NSW or NT). I'm asking about the state from which I have a better chance to get an invitation. Visa 489 - Way Forward

Hello, I would like to seek your advise on the below and would really appreciate your feedback.I applied under the nominated occupation of Program or Project Administrator (ANZSCO Code: 511112) and have launched the EOI today on Nov 7, 2017. Now what happens from here?- Does it go the the state for nomination?- Do the states give nomination by default or there are certain criteria? (my occupation falls in the LOW demand bracket in SA)- When would i get the Invitation to Apply, considering I have 65 points?Thank you and sorry to bother you all with so many queries.Regards,Karl
  5. Hi I have recently submitted my EOI for ICT Business Analysis on the 189 Visa. All good I have the 60 points, but have recently learnt that they are only inviting for 70 points and above. I have only submitted with RPL from ACS, but was wondering if I could do a certification and get an extra 10 points? My question is really what level of certification can I claim the secondary level education for? Do I need a Bachelors? or would a BCS Certificate in Business Analysis Practice at practitioner level suffice? Or do I need to do the full BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis? What do they mean by secondary level education? Thanks, Kate

    Papers requested by case officer

Hello everyone, my certificate of experience is issued from governmental body & I had it authenticated by ministry of state & the Australian embassy here in Egypt. Would that be enough evidence for the case officer? I'm asking this because I can't get any other evidence of experience.

  10. Hello everyone My first name is Sina and my last name is Haji Beig Tehrani. In my university degrees my last name is written exactly like the above in 3 parts while in my passport my last name is written without any spaces as in HAJIBEIGTEHRANI. When I was creating my Engineers Australia profile for CDR assessment I wrote my last name as (Haji Beig Tehrani) but I expected that they will issue my outcome letter according to my passport - in the end that's why they ask for passport scan right?! No I'm worried that if I submit my EOI the DIBP officer cannot find my outcome profile to verify my profession experience and qualifications. Should I definitely ask from engineers australia to issue me a new outcome letter or the DIBP officer finds my outcome with my EA ID and I should not bother to wait an I'd better proceed with submitting my EOI? Could you help me by sending me an Email as well? Sinahbt@yahoo.com
  11. Hi all Looking for some help with completing the EOI ...has anyone submitted the EOI for joiner recently and could help with few questions please? Just confused about few things and worried we are over claiming points! My partner got a positive skills assessment from TRA and also got a AQF Certificate III in Joinery. On the letter we got - skilled migration assessment result - it only says that it has been successful and he also got that certificate in joinery. I though that on the letter it will say how many years of experience he has as well. My partner provided evidence for 7 y & 10 m and they said that he has provided all supporting documents for this period, but still 3 years will be taken off from this as he has only completed NVQ2 ( and not 3) so firs 3 years count as training and he should be claiming only 5 points for work experience. When we added the info about work experience to EOI, it gave him 10 points for experience so counted all 7 y and 10m... where are those 3 years to be taken off from that? How can we claim less? points are calculated automatically based in the information entered...im confused... Sorry if those are daft questions, I know its only EOI so should be straight forward, but just want to make sure we do this right and don't over claim.. hope there is someone who can help! Thanks in advance! Andana
  12. Hi All Hoping someone can help answer my question/s. I submitted my expression of interest on 9th July for Construction Project Manager (189 visa). I have 60 points and, although I've worked in the construction industry for 13 years, I can't claim any points for work experience (I worked for the first few years as an architect and, although Vetassess approved my most recent 5 years of work experience as a Construction Project Manager, by the time the first year is taken off for experience, plus a maternity leave and some time working part-time, I'm 3 weeks short of even being able to claim for 3 years). I already have the full 20 points for IELTS English test so there is no easy way to increase my points above 60. Anyway, when the invites were going out at a rate of 1750 per round in September I thought it was likely that we'd receive an invite in October as 65 pointers are up to date until 12th September, meaning they should start on 60 pointers from 21st June soon. However, now that it's back down to 1250 per round, I saw an estimate on the Iscah website suggesting that it'll be another 7 months before 60 pointers who applied at the start of July get invited. Obviously this could change if the invite numbers increase again. My issue is that I am due to give birth to my second child at the beginning of November. I was hoping to be invited before then. If I've not yet been invited, do I need to update this information on my EOI and, if so, will doing this put my EOI submission date back from July until November? Secondly, an option I'm considering is applying for NSW state sponsorship for the 190 visa as we are considering moving to that state anyway. Again, will applying for this push back my EOI date for the 189 visa? Hope someone out there has some answers ... thanks in advance!
  13. Hi all, Hope someone can help My and my partner are just about to submit EOI (visa 198 - joiner) but just a bit confused about the points we got when we filled it. We filled in all required information and all that is left now is to submit it. However, I wanted to check first, if we provided the right information. The system calculated that my partner has 70 points ( age - 30, English - 20, qualifications - 10 and work experience - 10) but... He is a joiner and did skills assessment with ACTS, we provided evidence for 7 y and 10 m, which they confirmed, but they also said that 3 years of experience will be taken off as he has NVQ L2 and did not do 3 years of his apprenticeship. They said we should be claiming only 5 points for experience and not 10 ( as 7y and 10 m minus 3 y will take it down to 4 y). This still gives us 65 points which is over the threshold but the systems calculates the points itself and shows he has 70. We don't want to over claim points, but not sure what info to provide. How does it work? If we give less info on his work experience to get 65 points and they take away 3 y then we wont get any points for experience. Would someone be able to help? Also, re qualifications - ACTS assessed his qualifications and he got a Certificate III in Joinery - just to double check - in EOI we added this under Education History and NVQ2 qualification under - 'An award or qualification recognised by the relevant assessing authority for your nominated skilled occupation'. Is this right? sorry if those are daft questions, I know its only EOI so should be straight forward, but just want to make sure we do this right ... Thanks in advance! Aldona

    Mistakes in EOI

Hi everyone, I have received visa invitation for SC 189. But I realized, after invitation is received, that there are following 2 mistakes in my EOI: 1. Country of birth is mentioned incorrect. 2. Starting date of employment is mentioned incorrect (This employment is partly claimed and luckily points for this part are not claimed). Unfortunately, this was my last chance to get an invitation because after that round my age points are reduced. Now the question is, how should I proceed for Visa Application? Should I correct both mistakes while submitting Visa Application? Both mistakes do not affect my points.
  15. HI captain, I would really appreciate if you can please let me know an approximate time frame when I can expect my invitation for EOI submitted on 12/08/2016 for Systems Analyst? The recent 26th July 2017 round, all 75's were invited up until the 17/7. There is a huge back log of 70's starting from 24/3/2017. I am a bit worried if I have to rewrite PTE to up my points or wait for few more months until they finish inviting 70's and then invite 65's which is where I stand on
  16. I made an EOI and have now received a invitation. Unfortunately I have found two mistakes in my EOI. 1. My English language score for PTE academic is L:72, R:85, W:87, S:74 but I wrote L:72, R:85, W:74, S:87 (I got the writing and speaking score mixed up). 2. For the question "List all countries of citizenship" I wrote Canada. It should actually be UK and Canada. However I did write that my Country of Birth is UNITED KINGDOM and that my Country of Passport is UNITED KINGDOM -BRITISH CITIZEN Can I accept the invitation and tell the CO later? (my points have not changed), or should I wait for my EOI to expire?
  17. i'm currently on a student visa which is going to expire in september 2017 and i still haven't been able to finish my course not even half way. i have 65 points without nomination(age=30,degree=15,pte=20 261313 software and applications programmer). my question is if i voluntarily cancel my student visa and go back to my country after submitting EOI, will it have any effect on my 189 application outcome? i'm very confused about whether to extend my student visa(going through financial hardship) or cancel my student visa. i don't have much time and any help would be appreciated thank you

    May-June EOI 60 points

Hi, anyone here who submitted EOI 60pts between May-June? have you got invites already?

    Someone please clarify EOI!!!

Hello, We're just trying to lodge our EOI this weekend, but we seem to be getting stuck on various points. We're going for the 189 visa. My other half is 27, has a positive skills assessment from Vetasses ( they awarded Level III Certificate in Engineering with it) , over 3 years of relevant experience and superior IELTS. Now looking at the points table on the Immi website we figured we should get the following: 30 for his age 20 for IELTS 5 for skilled relevant employment 10 for qualifications (recognised by the assessing authority) So we figure we've got 65?! However EOI is only awarding us 60 We have gone over and over it trying various things and just cant seem to make sense of it! Do we need to put his Vetasses skills assessment certificate under the Education section?! As the skills assessment in on the following page?! Can someone please tell us where we are going wrong?! Feel like we've tried it from every angle and it just doesn't come out the same!? Thanks

    EOI- Skill-select invitation confusion

Dear Members, Last year March, I got an invitation from Skillselect and subsequently I made my application, Unfortunately, I had to withdraw my application earlier this year because of some circumstances, Now, I'm planning to make an another application soon, My question is, after an application is withdrawn, what happens to my EOI? Does it become invalid? Do I have to re-apply EOI in order to make a new application? PLease help me , thank you
  22. Hi guys, Got a bit of a problem and wondering if anybody out there can help. I'm currently filling out an expression of interest to apply for a 189 skilled visa as a general electrician. For some reason my total points is adding up to 45 after I complete all sections. I have done an IELTS (scored proficient), just received a successful skill assessment through Future Skills International and am 29 years old. Those factors alone should entitle me to 50 points unless I'm going crazy. I don't seem to be getting any points for work experience. I started my work history from 2003 (I'm aware it stipulates last 10 years so from 2005). My first company was from 2003 to 2006 - I'm not sure it's even counting it from 2005, or even counting it at all? There after my work history is in blocks due to travelling etc. Totalling up (excluding my first job 2003 - 2006) I am totalling 3 years overseas experience in the UK and New Zealand. My Australian work experience is totaling just over 10 months, which I'm aware is just short of the 12 months for points, but I think there is some give in that if I can juggle it about. I'm really confused / unbelievably worried as I have 4 weeks of my current Working Holiday Visa left. I've literally been scrapping every last penny I have together to get this sorted and only now have I managed to get the required docs together and be able to afford the skill assessment (which burned me over 3000 dollars in total). I'm aware I'll have to leave in 4 weeks, but if I'm not getting points for my work experience then I don't know what to do. The whole process is a mess. I cannot understand how I can be approved to undertake a skill assessment if I didn't meet the required experience for migration, and why in the points system for a visa which is for skilled workers, they allocate hardy any points for being skilled. You get the same points for just being able to speak like Shakespeare! If I have to retake that bloody English exam I'll have a break down. There's no way I have enough time to do it. If anybody out there has any idea or can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  23. I am currently on a 485 visa that is due to expire on the 11th of May. Once I finish my SMIPA course on the 10th of April, I will have the additional 5 points to qualify for the 60 points benchmark. I am worried that my invitation will not come in time before my current visa expires. Can anyone give me some advise? I will be using accounting as nominated occupation. I believe I can only wait for 2 invitation round (24 April and 8 May) before my current visa expires.
  24. I have created an account to submit EOI in Skillselect but got stuck with work history. I have about 8 years 4 months relevant post graduation experience in an engineering field. I also have a positive skills assessment from Engineers Australia, however I do not have an assessment of "relevant skilled employment". I believe I have all the right documents listed in subclass 189 document checklist which is issued by DIBP: employment references, contracts, pay slips, tax returns, bank statements, letters of termination. The question is: Does DIBP deduct a few years from everyone's experience (like ACS does) no matter what evidence one may present? Should I put one year of my relevant experience as non-relevant just to play it on the safe side? If yes, would I be getting questions from CO as to why a year in the company is not relevant and other years are? Would it be considered "misleading information" as it pertains to DIBP terms and conditions? p.s. I am not in need of an extra year, nor am I in hurry to get invited (the only difference would be 65 vs 60 points and an invitation round ahead).
  25. Hi I hve just lodged EOI for these visas. I am concerned though because my 489 is scored at 70 points and the 189 is 60 points. Will I be invited for the 489 before the 189? Will I be better to remove the 489 until I have been through a couple of selection rounds? As ideally I would prefer a 189 visa for obvious reasons.
