  1. Just a quick note to let everyone know that the game on Sun at Skilled Park (Robina - Gold Coast) is FREE ENTRY. :swoon:There are currently 20,000 people going (Tickets already allocated), only 7,000 seats left. Please get your tickets online at: LINK: Ticketek Australia ($1 admin fee per order [not per ticket]) You can also pick up tickets on the day at the stadium, but I would do that at 2.30pm if that is your plan; those queues can be nasty. 3. Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to clarify who is able to witness the ACT Financial Declaration? I have located a Notary Public who have siad they will charge £40 and have also spoken with a local solicitors who have said they can do 'ordinary winessing' for £5. Obviously I would prefer to use the cheaper option but am unsure whether this is satisfactory for ACT purposes? Thank you for any advice/experience you can give me.

DIAC reply SMP by 1 Dec 2010

One day, when frustration kicked in I just sent in an inquiry feedback through Chris Bowen government website to ask about SMPs. Surprisingly I received email reply from DIAC when I least expect it to happen :chatterbox: DIAC commented and intended SMP will be completed and in place by 1 Dec 2010. It's not gonna be long and we have gone that far to 1 Dec.

    Stat Dec's

I know this topic has been questioned alot and has many threads, however after searching the site i cant find an answer to my question regarding them so was hoping to shed a little light on my query. We are here on a 457 visa and currently completing an application for the 856 ENS. I am collating all the evidence for my husbands trade quals and work experience. For the 457 we had a few stat decs for his work experience as alot of the companies he has worked for no longer exsist. We had these stat decs signed by a solicitor in the UK at the time 2 years ago. So for the application i am able to get copies of his certificates etc and have them signed by a JP but for the stat decs will we need to do new ones and have them signed over here ? or can we use the exsisting ones we used for the original application ? Also if we can use the original ones are we able to copy them and have them signed by a JP also to avoid sending in the original? Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

I have a question about stat decs. I'm from UK and still in UK. I have some australian friends who live in London who are going to write stat decs for me. Do they have to use form 888 or can they just type on blank A4? Thanks in advance.

I have to do stat dec in which I tell all about my tiling experience, but can I just copy all that for question 8 in the TRA application form as both wants the same as far as I understand it. HOpe anyone can give me some ideas on this especially those who has done similar.

Visa's granted Dec 08 - STILL here in the UK...

It just feels like we will never get to Australia. I have stopped researching and hardly ever look at PomsInOz any more as I am getting totally disillusioned. Thing is, we really really really want to go but since the visa's were granted, the house market crashed, my other half lost his job in construction, we have been forced to spend a lot of our savings that we were going to use to get set up in Melbourne as we were struggling to pay the mortgage. Our house wouldn't sell, our car was written off following car accident, we have lost our jobs countless times now and are struggling here in the UK. It just seems like fate or whatever keeps throwing obstacles in our path when we try to get our heads above water and the dream of moving to Melbourne gets further and further away. We will be forced to make a decision anyway since the visa's will expire and I still believe we will get there somehow. I am just soooo not on the ball any more when it comes to the practicalities of actually making the move whereas in early 2009 I had worked out a lot of what we would need to get in order like getting a container and shipping our belongings, what area's we could afford to rent in when we arrived, what licensing etc hubby would need to get, etc etc but now I have lost all motivation. I just feel :arghh: at the moment. I am now starting to worry about "what if our relationship doesn't take the strain of the move, what if we take our little boy away from his grandparents/cousins now he is old enough to know who they are (we were initially thinking of emigrating once he was 6 months old n now he is a toddler). Also, I have been reading about house there are a lot of migrants who are selling up in Oz and heading back to the UK since the pound is pathetically low and how people who have recently arrived in Oz have struggled so badly that they are forced to come back. I know this is not true for everyone but I seem to be focusing on the negatives.... Is anyone else in the same boat or can you please offer some words of advice? I don't know what I need to hear. I really am terrified of leaving now but I also know we would regret it if we didn't go for it after going through the visa process and getting it and I know others have not been so lucky... Help! :wubclub:
  14. Hi, we need to fill out our statements of how we met and our relationship developed. Is this just a stateement, does it nee dto be witnessed? IS there a specific form? I was thinking 888 but is that more for our friends and family or do we use it too?
  15. Ok. We got our visa granted Dec 08 then the UK economy went down the toilet. Hubby (works in construction) was made redundant and got new job. Company went under, he got a new job again. Company went under, he got a new job with a rolling contract. His contract is up for renewal for 18 month term depending on the company's financial status next month. It may be the case that we are forced to make a decision soon if they don't get funding to continue with their current project and we will likely head to Oz. If he IS offered the contract for 18 months it means we are committed to being here in the UK and delaying our plans again although it would be a great opportunity as he would be Project Manager on the new contract... Main issues are like everyone else at the moment. We can't sell the house. It has dropped in value and then slightly risen again but none of the houses round here are selling at all at present. Some have been on and off the market in our street for the last 2 years. We have no savings left. We nearly lost the house when hubby was paid off time and again. We were all set to head to Oz with nothing. That seemed totally crazy but it was either stay here with nothing or just go for it. Then the new job miraculously sprung up and changed everything. Now it seems mad to NOT take the new contract as we still have nothing to back us up and can't sell the house... We have a toddler and really want to get to Oz before he starts school which would be possible in any respect. I am wary about taking him to the other side of the world (we don't really have much family support but to go to Oz and have none when we have no money or anything just now seems crazy). Anyway, I only really meant to come on here and get some opinions on the situation as there must be others in the same boat. I am just scared that we stay here and are in the same position (or worse) in 18 months time. I just don't know what to do. Is anyone else still here when they have had their visa's for years??? Think we are just delaying the inevitable... :arghh:

When can I do a Stat Dec

Hi, I have read loads of information on Statutory declarations and had examples sent to me. I will need to get one from my ex so I can take my eldest daughter with me. He has agreed in a telephone call (or maybe he doesn't realise that he has a choice lol) Since then I have had no maintenance from him (he was always hit and miss with it) I want to take it up with him but I am scared of rocking the boat and him changing his mind. How far in advance can I get a statutory declaration for him and if he signs one of these can he contest it? We haev no idea when we'll go, but the sooner the better. However in reality ot could still be a few of years. Can I get started on one now?
  18. Hi there, When using stat declarations for a de-facto visa application it states that they must be from Australian citizens. We have been travelling the world for 2 years and have lived and been close to some Australians but would like to include statements from UK passport holders. My question is this: Can a foreign citizen witness the stat dec if it was made by an Australian citizen and also if it was written by a close friend who is not Australian? If you have had experience with this your views and thoughts would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a sample of what they wrote on theirs???? Will have to do another one of these as his second employer is no longer around either. I have done up a reference for his current employer to sort of glance over and sign which is all done fine, loads of detail etc etc. Hes been employed with this current employer for the last 10 years. Stat dec capenter

We are in the process of gathering all information to apply for skills assessement with TRA. We have my DH qualification cert and also all info of each phase of his apprenticeship. We also have his current jobs reference outlining pretty much everything he does along with salary and dates he started and all that. However his first and second employer are no longer around and he has no means of gathering exact information from them. So he will have to do up a Stat Dec explaining this which is fine but he cant remember exact dates of starting each job. Will this matter? Also it says he needs third party proof that what he is explaining is true... what does that mean? He started his apprenticeship back in 1997 so its a good while ago and he has been with his current employer now for over 8 years. Any help/advise welcome. Also can a member of the Gardai (police) sign off stat decs and certified copies? Cheers!
