    child migration

Our daughter is 16, she wants to stay with releatives and finish her A'levels here. We are hoping to migrate to oz on a sir visa,if i'm right on thinking we can apply for permanent residency after 2 years, if thats the case can she come out on a working visa until we get PR and then when we have PR can we apply for a child visa for her because she will be under 25 and also dependant on us because she will be going to uni hopefully as a permanent resident...Help!!
  3. Hi All, I need some advice with regard to the CSA please. I seem to be going round in circles trying to find out the answer to my question. My ex currently reluctantly pays maintenance for my 13 yr old son through the CSA here in the UK. We have recently told him that we are emigrating. He has given his consent which was a miracle I thought I was going to have a battle with that one. Now my ex has just brought up the subject of maintenance payments, why should he pay when he won't ever see him (he rarely sees him now and we live locally to him). He says if we are "RICH" enough to move to Australia then we are "RICH" enough to bring him up! I can't quite believe his attitude, but I shouldn't really be surprised as he has tried everything over the past six years to get out of paying. Anyway, my question is, where do I stand? I know Australia have a Child Support Agency but does anybody know how effective it is? Has anybody been in my situation? How quickly does it all work (if at all)? Sorry for the long question. Thanks Julia & Kent

    Child with Statement.

Hope someone can help? We have a 7 year old son who currently has 25hrs support in a main stream school. Can anyone tell us if this would be an issue with regards to applying for visas & medicals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tim & Michelle.
  11. Hi We are in the UK and have permanent residency and are thinking of having our child before we move, hence they will need their own visa. Firstly I cannot belive the cost is $1320 just to add a newborn plus medicals! Has anyone else applied in this scenario? Do you have the same restrictions that you must enter Australia within a year of the medicals? I am just concerned as we will have already done this. Any tips welcome
  12. considering emigration through family sponsorship, in very early stages of information gathering. would love to hear from anyone who has had experience in this specific area. My daughter has hydrocephalus and had a shunt fitted when she was 2, no problems since and is now almost 14, attends mainstream school with no special arrangements other than to avoid contact sports. We are worried that we will fail at the medical stage, we had information - not sure if urban myth- that if you are likely to cost the oz gov more than $20k you're not welcome! worst case scenario if daughter required new shunt don't know what cost implications are. can anyone help???

    UK Child Benefits

Uk child benefits when do i tell them i'm going i.e family allowance, child benefits. What happens if they owe me money or i owe them money? Read a thread awhile back on another forum (can't find it) someone had so many problems getting the money that was owed to them from the child tax credit. Was it all straight forward or was it a nightmare ?. Stacey xx

  15. Hi there, does anyone have any information on finding a registered child-minder in Brisbane? We've been told that nursery places are hard to come by with long waiting lists and we were wondering what the alternatives are. Much the same as the UK, with registered childminders etc? All information / advice and guidance gratefully received! Best wishes - Mark and Jo and Fin

    angry child

I have one son age 11 soon 12. but he is so against going to Oz. We have only just started to look into this seriously and have done the assessment form, but he always says he is annoyed at us for making such a big decision and moving so far away, does anyone have the problem, I feel I,m alone with this, and is there anyone who would leave him a message to entice him.
