  3. HI all we go home to the u.k. in three weeks time and wanted a weeks break before we return home to all the stress, we are looking for a cheapish caravan, flat or cabin of some sort for the week, anything really, any info would be gratefully apreciated. thank you.
  4. Firstly Hello all, I am a new member and would like your take on a question I have re the cheap bits of Geelong. I have come into a wee inheritance and am in a position to either buy a wee weatherboard house outright or make some serious inroads on a brick house somewhere in Geelong. Basically I have no where near enough money to buy in Melbourne and would rather be in a nice wee city like Geelong than out in the the woop woop suburbs of Melbourne. People seem to have a very dim view of Corio and Norlane and these sort of cheap areas but I want to know ....are they really that bad? To give you an idea of where I stand on this sort of thing. I am from Maryhill in Glasgow, have lived very happily in Hackey east london, Byker in Newcastle, Toxteth, Sandilands in Aberdeen and Saint Kilda Melbourne. The last one being Vale Street Saint Kilda, or hip deep in junkies and hookers. NOw I never considered any of these places particularly rough, in fact the only place I have ever been burgaled was Saint Kilda and that was in no way rough in my book. So, are Corio and Norlane and the like really rough areas or are the people who pour scorn on them big jessies? I'm a single bloke no kids so maybe that colours my view of the matter? I look forward to your input, so thanks in advance

  8. Hi there! We're off to Oz mid-July 09 for our honeymoon. Going for 4 weeks to check out various stops. Is anyone going around the same time and if so who are you flying with and, more importantly, have you found any good deals on flights?? There seems to be loads of offers on at the mo... all finishing end of June!!! We can't exactly pull the wedding forward but it'd be nice to say half the price on the flights for the sake of 2 weeks!!! It's gonna be worth it though!!!! Land of Jam

  15. Hi I would really appreciate some advice on where to stay for a couple of days in Melbourne while we look for a rental. We will be landing around 13th Feb and I need to register with Medicare pretty quickly as I will be 19 weeks pregnant and need to organise a scan but I believe I need to have an address before I can register with Medicare. So I would appreciate if anyone can recommend a cheap and cheerful and clean place to stay close(ish) to the CBD for a week or so. Preferably in the region of St Kilda or surrounding burbs. Thanks a million Caroline, Craig and wee Bruce or Sheila in the making!! :emoticon-signxmas:

  21. I have just read this in the courier mail ,mightbe able to afford a visit back at these prices, QUEENSLANDERS will be able to fly from Coolangatta to London from March next year with tickets costing about $552 one way and going on sale from today. AirAsia X, which flies four times a week from the Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur, last night announced flights from Malaysia to London. The move makes the Gold Coast Australia's budget-price gateway to the world, with other airlines already flying out of Coolangatta on routes that take passengers to Osaka in Japan, Fiji, the US and New Zealand.
