Hi just wondered if any category 3 applicants (175 and 176 applicants particularly) had received a case officer since January 7 2011? The official update you get by emailing gsm.processing@immi.gov.au hasn't been update since Jan 7 and is saying processing of category 3 applicants will "re-commence" once all category 2 applications allocated. I know from our agent and poms in oz that in terms of aplications lodged they're a bit further ahead than the official line of Jan 09. But are they still giving out CO's in cat 3 too despite what the official line is.....?? Be very grateful to know if you been given a case officer in cat 3 since beginning January???? (and when you lodged if so) Also please say if you think your CO was allocated your case before Jan but took a few weeks before getting in touch (if you know) ....... many thanks

Hi all After moving in to Priority 2 I am hopeful of getting a CO soon I am a little confused on what happens after a CO takes over my file. What all documents would CO ask me to furnish? How much time does a CO take to finalize the visa? How would I know if i have a CO allocated? Do I have to furnish Medicals and PCC immediately or is that asked after employment verification? Can anyone who has got their visa granted already know the answers for the above :chatterbox:

just have to say the case officer my son has had for his 115 visa has been brilliant, within minutes of receiving a number of emails, we have had a reply, the one we have just received was like an early Christmas Present advising us that a letter went out today to finalize his visa, asking for his second application charge, just text him and waiting for a reply, wow what a journey it has been, almost there  regards Lynda

Hi All, This one is intriguing me. When you get a CO assigned and get a certain amount of time to respond, what does this actually mean? Does it mean they will take a look at your file again in that number of days? If you don't meet that deadline, do they wait for another while before checking your file or do you get dropped down the list for being tardy? Or, is this some arbitrary period that gives us folks an idea of when we ought to be getting stuff back to the CO, but in reality isn't a date that is ultimately that significant? Any thoughts? Steve

I am trying to contact my CO as he sent me a request for further information and gave me until 9 March to supply them (work duty statement, medical examination and police checks) but there is NO WAY I will get this all together by them. I sent them an email and also used the OL contact facility, but after a week no response - time is running out and not sure what to do.

Update from agent, which i thought people may find useful: Further to our previous email regarding the new processing priorities at the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), we would like to inform you that this information has now been updated. DIAC is now allocating case officers to the following applications: Applications with state or territory nomination. These are being allocated to case officers within ten working days once DIAC has received official confirmation of sponsorship directly from the state or territory involved Applications with occupations on the Critical Skills List (CSL). DIAC is allocating all eligible applications that were lodged prior to 1st September 2007. They are allocating these applications in order of lodgement date and hope to have all of them allocated by 20th March 2009 No other skilled applications are being allocated at present.

Hello all you poms in ozzers! This is our first post, so please be gentle! My OH and I applied online on 7 May 2008 for a 175 MODL visa (frontloaded medicals and PCs), and hope to go to Sydney early in the new year. It looks like we now have a case officer (woo-hoo - our status has now gone to ‘application being processed further’), and most of the documents on the checklist have now been changed to ‘received’ rather than ‘required’. Does this mean we have a case officer? However, two documents are still ‘required’. Does anyone know if this means that further information is required, or just that the case officer hasn’t got round to looking at it yet? The two areas still ‘required’ are ‘evidence of specific work experience’ and ‘evidence of work experience’. We’re quite worried as we don’t know if there’s much more evidence we can provide here. On the positive side, it’s just over 4 months since we applied and if we have got a case officer, it means they are really ploughing through the on-line applications! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks weareclark
