  1. information - Onshore partner visa 820 & 801 Supporting evidence help Hope it helps :-) x:biggrin:
  2. Hi new to the boards and wondering, (though it might seem obvious to some) which application to go with. I am English, marrying an Australian girl at the end of January. We are in love - legit relationship met over eighteen months ago. I spent one month in Sydney a year ago and she came to visit me in Ireland for 3 months. Now I'm here again from November until Tourist visa runs out in early February. Question is this: We'll have about four days before my visa runs out from the time we marry and we're wondering do I apply as her now Spouse/Husband for the 820 and 801 Visa or, in those four days (because it's so short in the leadup to when I'm supposed to leave) or apply for Extension to Tourist Visa 601 - then do the Spouse Visa later???? Just not sure if we have enough time to collate all our correspondence/evidence of legit loving relationship in the four days gap - do we get time to do that? Would I be granted an interim visa? Anybody know. Also, is the Certificate of Marriage which will be given to us on the day of our marriage the only thing we need, first off? We will be marrying in a Registry Office first off then plan to have another small gathering of family and friends later. Any advice appreciated. Hugh
  3. Following on from my earlier post about the time taken (5 months now) to even be allocated a case officer for my 820 temp spouse sponsorship visa application, I was wondering if I should ask DIAC about going straight for a 801 permanent spouse visa? This one is probably best answered by any of you immi agents on the forum..my wife and I got married last July, but have lived together since May 2009, and can evidence our continuous relationship from Jan 2008. When I applied for my 820 back in Sept '10, we clearly didn't have enough mileage on the clock to go direct for a 801 for me. However, DIAC are now suggesting it could be as late as May'10 by the time they get round to my 820 application. The DIAC guidance seems to suggest if you can evidence 3yrs+ continuous relationship (if no kids), you may be eligible to go straight for 801. It now looks to me as though I could now fall into this category....But the question then comes, what do I do? Should I ring DIAC and see what is involved in transferring my application into the 801 bucket, or wait a bit longer? Appreciate any guidance/advice/past experience you can share!

    Onshore spousal 801

    Evening i'm wondering do you think it would be ok to ask the DIAC what the latest is on my permanent Visa application is as I coming to the end of the 2 year period and have to contact them in December to see what the situation is with my application if I not heard anything I know that is over a month away the last time i heard from them was to confirm they had received my change of address. Does any one know the processing times?
  5. Hello forum, I hope I am posting this in the right place. I am hoping a kind soul could recommend an agent in the Sydney area to help me with the paper work to apply for an Partner (temporary and permanent) - Onshore (subclasses 820 and 801) visa. I currently have a prospective marriage visa and I've been in Oz for about four months and I was recently married (the Saturday just gone actually). Any advice woul be wonderful. All the best -Stuart

    WHV -> 801 Onshore Defacto

    TITLE SHOULD READ 820 Defacto - WOOPS! Hi, wonder if you can offer advice / share experiences of getting from a Working Holiday to Onshore Defacto visa? The situation is that the couple met online. When they decided to live together the non-Aussie partner entered Australia on a WHV and they immediately started living together. This was December 5th last year. They looked at registering their relationship with the state of Victoria, but this isn't possible from a WHV. So the current plan is to submit their application for 820 Onshore Defacto in the dying days of the WHV. How anal are DIAC about the twelve month rule? In that the WHV expires on a Sunday, so to submit the application they either have to do it two days before they've been living together for a year, or a day after the WHV has expired? DIAC suggested (over the telephone in their normal helpful manner) the only way around this was to apply offshore. Would appreciate all thoughts and comments! :biggrin:

  9. Hello everyone. It has been a long time since I come here last - the last time I was here was last year some time, and I was panicking big time over getting my first stage visa in and it being accepted in Perth. Anyhow, I actually GOT the first stage visa! WOHOO! :jiggy: But now I want to know what I need to have by the time that two years is up, so I can be really prepared this time! I have practically the entire two years to get things together, so whatever is needed it is likely I will be able to get by that time. I keep seeing that it says that if after two years I "still meet the legal requirements" I will get the second stage visa - What are those legal requirements? SECONDLY Is there anywhere I can go to see what I can do now I have my subclass 820 visa? Like medicare and so on? Is there an actual site that the Immigration Dept. have set up to tell people what they can do now that they have their first stage visa? For example, can I now work, and how do I go about it? Also, on a side note: I didn't receive my confirmation letter from the Department, but they are now aware of that fact and my case worker is going to see if she can send me another one - was there a passport label or anything I needed to get at this stage? Like I said I have almost the whole two years to get things together, any suggestions will be useful and appreciated Thanks!! LynzLove

    Spouse visa - from 802 to 801

    I'm in Australia on a Temporary spouse visa (802), and want to prepare for whatever will be required once the 2 year waiting period is up but I can't find ANY information at all on what happens then. Has anyone been through this? Do you have to submit all the evidence, stat decs, medical checks etcetcetc all over again, some of them, none of them?
