  2. Hi, We are looking at Family/State Sponsored Visa 489 for WA. We can claim points for English Language, Skilled Employment, Qualifications, Partner Skill Qualifications, Family Member Sponsorship which gives us 65 points (need 60). Can someone tell me if we need State Sponsorship too? I keep reading things in different ways, and getting confused.....! Thanks!

    Which type of visa???

Help....I have been given so much conflicting information by a number of migration experts. I am a Marketing Specialist with over 8 years experience and an undergraduate degree in Psychology. My husbands sister is a PR of Australia, residing in Redcliff, Brisbane, postcode 4020. I have been told I qualify for a 489 Visa by one migration expert, but another has told me I don't and only qualify for an ACT 190, and another saying I qualify for a 457 Long Stay Temporary Business Visa....I am so confused and this is obviously mnaking me very dubious about migration experts. I ideally would like to be with my sister in law as this is a base for us and she will offer lots of support. Can anybody help...PLEASE

    Eligible sponsor - subclass 489

Hi guys, I am new at this forum. I hope you might answer my question. I am at the latest stage of submitting EOI for visa subclass 489, but I have one big doubt and it is regarding my eligible sponsor. Having all other issues resolved, I would like to ask people on this forum one question. I have a cousin in Australia - and he is - son of my grandmother's (my mother's mom) brother. (his grandparents are my great-grandparents) Having all other criteria fulfilled - Could he be my eligible sponsor (how are we related)? You or your partner must be related to your sponsor as: a child – including a stepchild, or a parent – including a step-parent, or a brother or sister – including adoptive or step-sibling, or a niece or nephew – including adoptive or step-niece or nephew, or an aunt or uncle – including adoptive or step-aunt or uncle, or a grandparent or first cousin. http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/visas/subclass-489/ Thank you for your time answering my question.
  7. Hi, We seem to be getting all our info together now....finally! Just a question - my first cousin lives in a designated area which means we can apply (since I'll be included in the application) for a Skilled Nominated Visa 489. Does anyone know though what additional proof we need to supply, apart from the family tree diagram? Thanks
  8. Hi Guys wanted to share my experience with anyone looking at 475 visa - now renamed 489 regional sponsorship. I made contact with Queensland government regarding the areas I would like to live and work and they informed me that they are in the process of looking at and revising the approved list of regional areas. I queried area 4551 in particular (this is Caloundra / Sunshine Coast) and she said that this was one of the areas they were considering taking off the list. In essence, I think they plan to reduce the regional list for the Sunshine Coast. She told me not to worry because they have been in discussions about the area list for 3 years and nothing has changed yet. For the moment though, it would seem that 4551 and similar postcodes are allowed for the purposes of meeting permanent residency criteria. Millie x
