    Statement Help Please!

Hi everyone, I am currently applying for a Prospective Marriage Visa (300) so I can back to my girl in Perth asap. I am wondering about the statement re the history of the relationship? Does anyone have any experience of this as I am unsure as to how long it needs to be or what details are important? I have read the Partner Visa booklet and have a rough guide but I have a habit of getting carried away and so far I'm already over 2000 words and not even halfway through! Are DIAC looking for a full relationship history or just the important events? And how much of my personal feelings should I include? Sorry for the unusual question but I really want to get it right so anyone with any previous experience of this, I would love your help!!

    300 prospective marriage visa

Dear all, can anyone tell me how long is the approximate proccessing period for 300 prospective marriage visa currently? I'm from China and was told that the waiting period takes 6-10 months ( it was only 1 month last year, but the policy got tighten up this year), I'm not sure if this is standard for all countries, can anyone kindly let me know how long it took for you guys? Many thanks
  3. Hi all, I am in the process of applying for the PMV visa and have a few questions which I am in need of some help with...... 1. Re Q9 I have a current valid ETA but cannot find the visa number for it, where would it be? Also I visited Oz in 1995 on a family holiday but am unsure of the exact dates - will that be a problem? 2. Re Q24 I was in a long term UK based relationship previously - would that class as a defacto relationship? 3. Re Q32 I am aiming to bring $2800 currency with me when I move, will that be a factor as to whether its high enough amount to support me? 4. Re Q57 My fiancee is currently a full time student - will this pose a problem with sponsoring me? 5. Re Q63 My fiancee has 2 half sisters with which she has never had any contact and doesn't even know their surnames! Will that be an issue? 6. Re Q80 I have a previous traffic offence which gave me 3 points on my driving licence - does this need to be mentioned as a previous crime/offence? 7. Re Q83 My previous WHV was granted in Nov 2011 but I entered the country Feb 2002 what should I put for my dates of entitlement to employment? Also my fiancee doesn't hold a valid passport but is a Aussie citizen from birth, does she need one? What happens to all the documents sent off for my PMV application? Will they be sent back for a potential Partner visa application in 9 months? Sorry for all the questions but I am desperate to get the form as accurate as possible to try push it through as quickly as possible!! Thanks for any help on the above mountain of questions!!

    Assets on 300 visa

Hi all... We all know our future 300 Marriage Visa partner have lots of admirable assets of the personal kind, but seriously, what if they have limited liquidity and are coming with a small amount of resources instead of loads of savings? Anyone experienced any difficulty in the acceptance process because of this? Or in the context of the bigger picture, didn't it matter at all? Love to hear. Cheers!

    Another subclass 300! Ha!

Hi! I'm Joely! I'm an oz resident from london and my fiance is from london. We've put in allllllll the bits for the prospective marriage visa! When we first put it in they said we shoudl ehre form them in 10 days, and it only took 2! All we need was my fiances medical and police as we decided to put that in after, now everythings in and our case officer has emailed saying 'nothing further is required, you will be emailed when your visa in granted'....It's now been 2 months nearly, are we just over excited cos the first bit was soooo quick, or has the case officer let slip hes pretty much got it, and its a case of waiting for it to me 'stamped' in his passport. Sorry for the informal typing haha. Ive come back to oz to do wedding bits now its all in, and my fiance is still in london waiting, its just getting sad now, as I bloody miss him! Do you reckon we have much longer? Thankkkss!!!
  7. I have Aus PR, and my partner and i are planning to move there before October when my visa expires. We've been together for 4.5yrs (just over 4 living together and easily documented), so I am confident that we could apply for and get a 319 visa for him. However I read that if we'd been together for 5 yrs when we apply he'd quickly get a 301, which would be better. We can't wait until the 5 yr mark as my visa will expire 4 months before that, but we are debating getting a prospective marriage 300, getting hitched in Aus, then applying for a 820/801 after that. Does anyone know if the 5 year + relationship date = getting PR (instead of temp for 2 yrs) more quickly is the same as for the 319/301? Any advice gratefully received! S

    NOIM - subclass 300

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone out there knows if the NOIM form can be signed by me (uk resident) prior to being in Australia and then sent to my Fiancé for him to fill in and sign, or will my Fiancé ( living in Australia) have to fill in the form, get it signed and witnessed, and i sign it once i land in Australia? I have contacted a marriage celebrant who I am hoping is free for our propsed wedding day, and asked this question ... but i am impatient lol Thanks in Advance
  9. Thought I would give everyone a heads up of my current situation. 1.Applied for the De-facto visa on the 14th Feb (Fully Loaded including police and medical); 2.Money taken 17th Feb; 3. 24th Feb CO appointed, furhter information requested as we were travelling from oz to London during a period they want a written statement detailing this. Also my birth certificate was not a full one apparently, I did not know this but thought I would post and make sure people provide a full birth certificate, if you do not have one, you can order a certified copy from the below link; https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/default.asp 4. 1st March, all further info sent, now awaiting approval, CO said this could take up to 6 months. Anyone have ideas of timelines for De-Facto Visa processing times in London??
  10. Hi all, Its great to read through all your success stories and see so many people in the same boat!! I'm hoping some of you can give me some advice. I haven't investigated visas in quite a few months but have read all the relevant info on the Prospective Marriage Visa. I returned from Oz in Spring 2008 having met my boyfriend in December 07. We have stayed together while have been back in Ireland trying to get a on-line business off the ground which I can now run from Oz. We keep in daily contact, by phone email and even the odd snail mail. My boyfriend has visited twice , once for 6 weeks and again recently for 3weeks and I intend to go back in the Summer visa or not! Can't believe the processing times are up to 5-6months eeek! I'm a little worried about our prospects as its so long since we've been together on a permanent basis. On the plus side he works for a government department which I'm hoping they will look upon favourably Also we're not "officially" engaged, he wants to wait to get a ring and do it all properly, but we do want to get married. My brother and his wife (ozzie) live in Oz too so I'm hoping that may also be taken in to consideration. Anyway, looks like I'll really have to get a move on and get all the paper work together. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! We're considering using an agent, I've read mixed reports so any feedback on that would be great too. Thanks!
  11. Hello, Me and my aussie partner will be lodging an application for the PM 300 visa to the embassy in London and would like to know how long the processing time is. I have been told by the embassy that it takes 3-6 months but when i have spoken to other people who went through this application i have had mixed answers (some people got it in 2 months, others it took up to 8mths!!!). We have put as much info in as possible like 2 years worth of photos, stat decs and bills and bank statements from when we lived together in Perth for a year. Also would you advise to get the health checks done before we put the application in so its all put in together (does anyone know how much these checks cost approx?). And do we just have to ring the embassy up to arrange to drop the application in or just turn up when we're ready? Sorry for all the question but i'm just in the anxious stage at the moment! Thanks. Dave

    Convert 475 to PMV 300

well, i'm tired of waiting. The original 8 months waiting by the time i applied turned into infinity now. I know they won't provide refund once your application has commenced processing. Has it already started? If yes, then the waiting must be definite. The TRUTH now is, DIAC haven't REALLY started the FIRST STEP yet in processing my application. So, is it possible to convert my 475 to pmv 300? so that me and my bf can use my money i (wasted) spent instead of paying a new whooping expensive visa application.
  14. I have a question regarding which visa I should apply for. I am a US citizen based in the Philippines and my fiance is currently an Australian permanent resident. We are planning to be married this Dec 21 here in the Philippines. Should I apply for the Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)? or should I apply for the Partner visa (subclass 820)? I will be in Australia this July 21st for vacation and can lodge the visa application then. The reason I ask is that if I apply for the subclass 300, According to the Australian Embassy here in the Philippines it takes 4 to 6 months, and I would be need to enter Australia before the wedding. However with a 6 month processing time, the wedding would before the grant of the visa. Should I just wait till after the marriage and then simply apply for the Partner visa Subclass 820? If I apply for the 820 after the wedding, how could I enter Australia, and still be able to work after the wedding? Should I get a Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa? At least that gives me 12 months Any Advise would help

    300 and/or 309 advice please

Hi again all, Applying for a Prospective Marriage visa or Partner Visa (not sure yet ) Reading the various relevant British government websites it seems that for an Aussie to marry in the UK one would need a certain visa to enter on that grounds - and/or a Certificate of Approval from the Home Office - and this can take up to 3 months to 'process' aswell. :err: can anyone verify this or advise of an easier way? From other forums I've read we may be best to fly to a country such as Denmark where apparently you only need to be in the country 3 days and minimal costs to marry... again any advice or warnings?? Ideally my fiance and I would marry here or in Europe and then apply for the Partner Visa, as we do not want the risk I suppose of not being granted the Prospective marriage Visa, lower costs overall - and it seems the processing time for a partner visa (offshore) may be shorter? failing this we come to my most important question I suppose - part of the Application for Prospective Marriage says we need a letter of Registration of Marriage including date and venue - which we obtain by lodging and NOIM with a celebrant. That makes sense but nowhere can I find how to actually get this to happen. Being in the UK currently, I'm emailling a few celebrants in Aus to no avail. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Again, thanks for any help with any or all of the matters, Damon.
  16. Hi all, myself (australian citizen) and my partner (UK citizen) are going through our paperwork (evidence etc) and about to apply for a 300 prospective marriage visa. We met in aus, lived there and in the UK and Ireland together for 1 total of 19 months. In december of 2009 my partner left australia as we could not get the visa we wanted (de-facto - as we hadnt quite made the 2 years. ...and so we decided for me to stay in aus and attend university, and for her to go home to england also for university. In April we decided this was a bad idea and we definately did want to be together, so 2 weeks ago i flew here (UK) -- however am quite worried that this 5 months of us being techically seperated will hinder our chances of the visa being granted. ~ might it be smarter to simply get married now while im in the UK and then apply for the onshore partner visa? Ideally not but I'd hate to lose the AUD$1705 application charge due to this technicality. We genuinely do love and want to be with eachother and time is of the essence as im sure many of you can apprciate. any advice would be greatly appreciated as we are now quite apprehensive! Thanks in advance, Damo

    Section 300 Visa Granted

I have just had an e-mail (about half an hour ago) to say that I have been granted a Section 300 Prospective Marriage Visa. I have a job offer which is time limited, and this means I will still be able to take up that post - but my goodness they cut it fine. And the process was far from stress-free. But - WOOT!!!
  18. hi, I need some advice ASAP ... a little background first, i'm currently with a partner and we are going to be applying for the subclass 300 visa but she is still married and going through a divorce. Her ex is causing problems in Australia and she needs to get back there to sort things out ASAP. A few questions, 1.can i go to Australia on a holiday visa and apply for the 9 months prospective marriage visa once there and how soon would i be able to work? 2.will it be better to front load everything and go to Australia house and apply from the UK. 3.I have two children living with my ex one 16 one 12, do they both have to have medicals aswell as me even though i am the only one going? 4.What medical issues can hold up a visa, i'm in relatively good health but my blood pressure is a bit higher than it should be,will this affect it in anyway? 5.i am a bit over weight as well, will this affect it in any way? 6.I've noticed people getting there 300 visas on here sometimes very quickly is there anything we need to know before we start and could someone give us a check list of what we need to do either here or applying in Australia?

    Got 'im, woo hoo!

Just wanted to let everyone know my fiance was granted his prospective marriage visa (300) today! So glad! We applied 23 Sept, so it's taken around 8 weeks. I'm 99% positive it took this long because we had a near incompetent CO - she went on leave two days ago and what do you know, we got the visa! Just booked our flights - we get into Sydney on 14 Jan 2010! Yaaaay! Extra glad because otherwise my Big Day Out tickets would have gone to waste, but now we can enjoy them! Thanks to all who listened to my complaining and replied to my posts on this site.
  20. Hi guys, I've been a bit of a "lurker" of this site but this is my first post here and I’m sorry to start things off with a question. To cut a long story short I’m currently in Adelaide on a working holiday visa. My Fiancee is Australian and I’m due to be flying back to the UK to apply for the prospective marriage (sub class300) visa – AKA the “Fiancé/Fiancée Visa”. As many of you know this is processed offshore and I’ll be flying back to London next Tuesday to get things processed. In an effort to speed things up we have been attempting to “front load” things as much as possible. (To which this forum has been really helpful) However – I do have a question about the medical. About a month ago I had my medical done HSA here in Adelaide. Before seeing them I had emailed the London immigration office about the most efficient way to process things. London told me that HSA were to send the results to the Sydney processing centre – where London could then see them online. HOWEVER. Once my medical was complete - HSA said this was wrong. They gave me my results in a sealed envelope and told me to take this with me to London. They could not send them to Sydney as I don’t yet have a transaction number (technically my application doesn’t start till my paperwork reaches London) Being the doubting type I immediately rang the immigration hotline to check HSA’s answer. The guy on the phone said HSA were correct. Still remaining unconvinced I went to the immigration office in Adelaide to check this out. They again confirmed that I could take the results to London. Great. HOWEVER (again) Just to triple check. I emailed London again this week to check out if this was correct. Guess what – they said this was WRONG and HSA have to send the results to Sydney!!!! I should not have the results AT ALL. I’m now inclined to “believe” London – as it will be them who process’s the application. However my concern remains – how the hell to I get them to Sydney with either. Them getting lost in the office An administrator going “oh he doesn’t have an application yet – these forms are invalid, etc, etc” ANY help or advice people could offer would be great!! (I’m resisting the urge to go on a big rant about people telling you different things. But I won’t. Yet)
  21. can a prospective marriage visa - 300 - be applied for onshore or do i have to go back to the UK? I am nearing the end of my ETA and don't know how long it takes to process over there....we don't want to spend that long apart! i have heard up to 9 months - is this true? is there any way of applying onshore or from NZ and rushing it through? if possible onshore will i get a bridging visa in the meantime? many thanks claire
  22. My fiance is currently holding visa 300 living in Australia with me now. We will get married in two months time and wondering if we still have to submit all the documents listed in the immi.gov.au when we apply for temporary/permanent partner visa 820/801. I noticed the documents required (eg. statutory declarations, sponsor's financial document etc) are very similar (in fact they are the same) with the documents we had submitted during visa 300 application (few months ago). ALso, does she has to go through health check, police check etc? Did anyone know about this? Our wedding date is rather close to the end of visa 300's validity (1 month before the visa expires) and wonder what is the time frame for getting the temporary visa after submitting the application? Thank you all for helping.
  23. Hi all I just did a search to find the answer to this question but I'm going so stir crazy with thinking about submitting our visa app that I couldn't find anything! :err: My fiance (he's the pom, I'm the Aussie) is applying for the Prospective Marriage Visa (300) and we're just about ready to submit the app, finally - does anyone know what the deal is with returning documentation?? I'm sure I read somewhere that if you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope then they return it all, but I can't find it, and I'm worried we won't get it back (I figure we'll need it all again when we have to do the partner one in Aus)?? Do we have to put in a cover letter and request this etc?? Also, as we're both in London and planning on coming back to Aus together, I don't have a permanent address there (part E of the sponsor form 40SP asks for an address where my partner will be living in Aus) - I've written an additional statement to explain everything, and I've given the address of my house in Canberra (which we won't live in - it's rented out, but I still receive mail at that address, and I own the house)... What do people think, will this be enough?? We're planning to live in Sydney, but yeah, won't have an address until we get there and find a place etc... Thanks in advance for any advice and sorry for the rambling - as I said, I'm going a bit insane with the stress of it all, argh!! Cheers Kat

    Prospective Marriage Visa

Hi there My fiancee and I intend to apply for the PMV, I'm English and she's Australian both living in London. Reading through some of the threads I've got a couple of questions. 1. Can you apply for this visa in Australia? We intend to go traveling for 4 months in S America before getting to Oz and are worried about booking a wedding venue before seeing it first. 2. I keep seeing the term 'front loading', would I be correct in saying that is where you try and give Immigration everything you possibly can to try and speed up the process. 3. What would peoples top tips be in applying for this visa? Cheers Des and Em
  25. Hopefully someone can help! A friend of mine is currently in the middle of the temporary phase of his De Facto Partner visa (has 15 month left before it goes into an automatic application for permanency). His relationship with his partner has broken down and they are currently separated. My friend came back to the UK in Jan-09 as his mum was ill suffering from Cancer. He is now looking to go back in August and work on his De Facto Visa. My friend first went out to Australia on his visa in Sept 2008 and stayed until end of Dec-08. He basically wants to ensure his visa is still valid and if so, whether he would be able to initiate a skilled migrant visa application (degree and qualified CIMA) in the interim, so he was covered for when the temporary part of his De Facto ends. Can he apply for his 175 visa in Australia? if he went back on the basis to try and patch things up and it didn't work is there some sort of bridging visa he can get whilst waiting for his 175? what would happen if he doesn't advise immigration of the split and they find out?
