Hi guys, I applied for my 485 VISA in August 2010 (using old SOL with transitional arrangement) and now I'm ready to apply for 885 VISA with occupation in new SOL. It's almost a year since my application for 485 and I deadly want it now so that I can apply for 885 before DIAC decides to make their moves again! Is there a way to get them notice my 485 application? I've used all necessary means (phone, email, and even an agent) but there is no success so far. Some of my friends told me that I just need to call them and say I'm ready to apply for 885 and they would assess my 485 application right away. Has anybody here done that? I'm pretty much appreciated for your comments, hints and tips. Many thanks.

Hi Would anyone out there be able to help me. I applied for a 175 visa in April 2010 and at the time my occupation was on the Schedule 1 list. I called immigration twice in April and they confirmed I was in Priority 3. When I still had not been allocated a case officer I called again this week and was told I am now in priority 4 as they are retropectively applying Schedule 3, which my application is not on, to everyone who applied prior to its introduction in July 2010. The immigration website says clearly in several places that Schedule 1 is the list that applies to my application, but the agents have been instructed not to process it. So people who applied after me are getting priority. I am in Oz on a working holiday visa but my time is up with my employer at the end of this month. They want to keep me on but are not in a position to sponsor me. Does anyone know what has happened to applicants who applied under schedule 1 prior to July 2010, and can anyone give me some advice? Thanks Louise

Hi Guys, Has anyone got their WA state sponsorship approved before July 2010 but are not nominated under the state migration plan please let me know..DO we come under Prioirty 2 off-list nominations or Priority 4?? I wanted to get more information on our further options.Thanks. -
Hi, I was told by many Cat3 applicants that they received a letter from DIAC indicating a CO will be assigned for them in the next 3 months, urging them to get PCC + health checks done (they got this letter around March 18th) - however, I did not get such a letter. Anyone may have an idea why? Do you think I should also get prepared?

Does anybody give any sense of the New Points System being introduced in July 2010:- Overseas Employment - will this be applicable to all occupations, i.e. 40/50/60 Offshore Apprenticeshop: Will this be for qualifications such as Diplomas and would you have had to have studied this for a year. They make it so confusing, :jiggy:

Hello lovely people, I am new to this and have had a few problems finding a good forum to post to...I think I have found the best on as there are a few at the mo! I am a copper of 8 years and my wife Clare is a registered nurse of 14 years (deputy sister), paediatric trained and some. On 20th Dec 2010 we lodged our application to try and get some of the good life. We have 3 children where the oldest is 12. The migration application is based on Clare with her skills in demand. Does anyone know how long this part of the process will take, before the medicals are required? And does anyone know how to access the site where yo can see how the progress is going, without contacting our agent each time? I have lost of wild questions to ask, but as a virgin user....that sounds wrong! I will keep the questions down to a minimal first off! Thanks you all!

First off, a big thanks to each and everyone one of you who contributed to the forum in 2010. All of you have played a part in helping the forum go from strength to strength:notworthy: The success of the forum is all the more remarkable in the light of the global domination of social networking sites such as facebook, twitter, linkedin, myspace etc. these days. For several years now, I've seen posts/articles on the internet asking if forums are dying out? Well, our community certainly isn't  [wrap]http://www.pomsinoz.com/images/stats2010.gif[/wrap] After busily beavering away with an abacus (I'm a little 'old school'), the site statistics are in for the year ending, 2010. Total number of unique visitors in 2010: 1,596,808 (up 40% on 2009) Total number of 'visits' in 2010: 3,340,431 (up 48% on 2009) Total number of pages viewed in 2010: 66,219,137 (up 98% on 2009) Total number of posts made in 2010: 295,355 (up 20% on 2009) Number of new users registered in 2010: 11,074 'Top Poster' in 2010 (with 5834 posts). Won't reveal their name, but their football team won't be picking up any honours this season. 2011 ? If the start to this year is anything to go by, then 2011 looks set to be even better than 2010. So far this month, we've had 9 consecutive days of over 1000 posts per day and are on target to hit over 30,000 posts this month (which would be the most ever in a month for the forum). New user registrations look set to be around 1500 this month which would be close to the record number of new users signing up in a month. And it looks like it may be a record breaking month for visitors to the site. This month has also seen the forum record the most number of registered members online in a 24hr period - 1,224. So thanks once again to everyone who participates on the forum, and a special thanks to our small but dedicated team of moderators who help to keep the good ship PIO on an even keel and manage to navigate her safely through all waters.

This has increased emails and telephone calls we receive from people all over the world and also from Migration Agents who are confused. As a professional practice we do not depend on web site information but depend on the actual legislative instruments and policy advice manual. For clients to choose the correct list we have put a explanatory note in each list. Australian Visa Processing Priority for Decision Ready Visa Applications Processing Priority for Decision Ready Visa Applications -In order to speed up the processing of visa applications, GSM Brisbane (GSMB) has a system whereby we as your lawyers can sign a declaration that we are lodging a complete application (ie, each and every required document has been lodged). In this process the time for allocation to a case officer is 10 working days. Please also note that this does not mean that the decision will be made in 10 working days. Once the case officer is allocated the case, the processing time depends on each particular case. This scheme will be used ONLY if the file is absolutely COMPLETE. If any documentation is outstanding this scheme is not applicable. We are requested by many to make submissions to DIAC and for certification Decision ready and to submit Checklists (DRCs). We undertake this task for client who lodge applications via us and only if the application meets the criteria for Decision Ready. We can only undertake this task from new clients who has all ready lodged the application only if we can verify if the application is a decision ready application and only after we are satisfied that all documents are in order and lodged. One day, when frustration kicked in I just sent in an inquiry feedback through Chris Bowen government website to ask about SMPs. Surprisingly I received email reply from DIAC when I least expect it to happen :chatterbox: DIAC commented and intended SMP will be completed and in place by 1 Dec 2010. It's not gonna be long and we have gone that far to 1 Dec.
