  1. Hi All - I have recently been approved for SS for Vic and am in the process of completing my EOI on a 190 Visa for myself, wife and 2 children (7 and 4). All looks ok...... until by chance I have been (lucky enough to be) put forward for a project which includes approx 10 days working in Melbourne around Feb / Mar this year. This is a great opportunity to have a recce on areas, schools etc and meet up with some family at the same time (we last visited about 5 years ago). However, I am now a bit confused as to how this will work Visa wise; I suspect I will require some kind of working visa to enter and complete the project in Melbourne and unsure as to how this would impact my 190 application. An ideal scenario of course would be to carry on with my 190 and use this to complete the 10 day project in Feb / March (if it is granted in time!) .... and possibly event get my employer to pay for it!!! ;-) Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! Cheers Brian
  2. Dear all, I submitted the 190 visa application a day ago. I still do not have a CO. In the application I stated: 1. "Are there any migrating family members included in this application?" NO. 2. Does the applicant have any dependent family members not travelling to Australia who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents? YES (and listed my partner) Q1. Will I be able to include my partner in the application after she passes the IELTS test? Q2. When should I file Form 1022: Notification of changes in circumstances? (After she applies for IELTS or once we have results? Why?) Q3. How much time does my partner have for passing the IELTS test? (I know it should be ASAP, but what's maximum time?) Thank you very much for your kind answers.
  3. Hi all, Why I am asked to provide DIAC with medical tests of my de facto partner who is not migrating with me? Where can I find official explanation/instructions on this? Visa 190.

    Victoria State Sponsorship

Hi - Just wondering if anyone has recently been approved for Victoria State Sponsorship and how long the process took? I submitted my application on 25/09/2012 and received an update on 05/10/2012 advising that there was delays in ICT application processing, but haven't heard anything since. I have a reference number and was going to request an update.... but they don't seem to like this! :-) Thanks Brian

    189 vs 190

Hi, I've just received my 189 invitation (eoi with 60 points as a developer submitted on 7th of July). On the other hand, I've sent a request for sponsorship to NSW. I've heard that it takes about a month for them to give feedback on my sponsorship request. Moreover, they say that 190 visa is processed with higher priority (I think about 6 months faster). So my question is what's the best scenario for me? should I wait for my NSW sponsorship request and then apply for 190 visa (along with its limitations) or should I apply for this 189 visa right away? I would highly appreciate any ideas.

    Visa 190 - Medicals

Hi, I have been invited to apply for 190 visa. I have not yet submitted my application. I am concerned about how the medicals are done? My height is 5 feet 11 inches i.e. 183 cms and I currently weigh 99 kgs which makes me fall in the obese category. As I researched on the internet and see that according to my height my ideal weight should be about 83-85 kgs. Also my BP normally has always been in the range of 140/150-90/100. I have never had any medical problems in the past and neither do I have any problems at the moment as well (that is what I feel, unless the medical reports shows otherwise). With the above facts do you guys think that this will impact my medical reports and if there are any chances of getting my visa rejected? I would appreciate anyone who can provide some idea on what and how the doctors interpret things as costly treatment and threat to the AUS public medical system? Regards, JB
  7. Dear all,My partner has 55 points and I'd like to try contribute additional 5 points using my qualifications to our EOI to qualify for the 190 visa. He has already completed skill assessments, IELTS, etc.I am an ACCA affiliate and I also obtained the Oxford Brookes University Degree which was offered by ACCA after completion of Part 2 of their exams. I worked with one of the big 4 accounting firms after I graduated for about 2.5 years as an associate consultant in the tax department (2005-2007). However, I became self-employed in an unrelated field after that. Does applying for skill assessment require work experience to be taken into account for partner points? Or will the qualification be sufficient? Do I apply for ICAA's combined assessment (skill and experience - $500) or do I apply for CPA's skill assessment - $475 without experience assessment? What are my chances (if I get through IELTS)? We have already spent considerable on agent fees and application fees beginning of this year which is why I'm hesitant and would rather apply for the assessment myself than pay the agent to. I'd appreciate if anyone can share their experience. Thanks Thanks

    Multiple application at DIAC

Hi All, I lodged my 475 visa application under State Sponsorship from South Australia on 21 Jun 2012. However, recently DIAC has reduced the pass mark to 60 which triggers my possibility to apply for 190 Permanent Visa again under state sponsorship. Now I have two questions in my mind: 1. Will South Australia still be interested to sponsor me for Permanent visa (subclass 190) for the year 2012-2013 considering the fact that they already sponsored me for Temporary visa (subclass 475) for the year 2011-2012? 2. Is there any restriction/bad-affect at DIAC for lodging multiple visa for same applicant? Although the applications are for DIFFERENT program year and for different category i.e. temporary 475 and permanent 190? If somebody comes forward, will be helpful for me.
