Hi, i’m from the UK and i got my australian citizenship last year. In february of this year i went to australia for 3 months. I went on my british passport with my aus citizenship certificate. when i got to the desk in the UK they checked my certificate and rang someone to see if it was fine and it was, then when i landed in perth i was stopped at the passport area and they had to check if i was an australian citizenship but they didn’t need to see my certificate, the lady said it would be fine to enter again like this, just they may be some delays like that. im moving to perth permanently in jan/feb next year for university and i’m concerned, some people have said i may not be able to enter without my australian passport as it’s a permanent 1 way ticket, do i need to get it or will i still be fine to get it when i get there next year…

yeah i did, in the uk at the desk they asked me if i was and checked my citizenship certificate as i obviously didn’t have a visa, then when i landed in perth they checked my passport but they didn’t need to see my certificate

Hi! i’m from the UK and last year i got my australian citizenship via descent. i went to perth for 3 months in feb of this year and entered without any problems on my british passport (they just had to do some checks when i landed) i was just wondering if it will be fine as next year i’m moving to perth permanently for uni and i still only have my british passport, will it still be fine to enter on the british passport as it’ll be a one way ticket? i’m planning on getting my passport when i get to aus. thanks.

hi! just remembered about this and thought i’d give an update, i got accepted! pretty much straight away, about a month, in feb of this year i went to perth for 3 months and i’m going back next year permanently for uni! (also just wondering if i’m able to get into aus fine on my british passport with my aus citizenship on a one way ticket, going to get my aus passport when i’m there)

my grandma is currently in the UK atm, could she possibly do that but i’m not sure as it says not related by birth, who’s best to do this?

I’m 17 and want to apply for australian citizenship via descent, my dad was an australian citizen (aswell as his mother my grandma) and we always planned on getting myself an aussie passport, as i was born and live in the UK, however my dad passed in 2018, which is giving me the problem i have, on the immigration website on the application for citizenship by descent there is a form that has to be filled out the 1195 form? and there is a section that needs to be filled out by the person with the citizenship (my dad) but obviously i can’t get that done, and i don’t know what to do, can someone help me please. i have all the passports and citizenship evidence and death certificate etc.
