  1. Us nurses are able to get 491/190/189 pretty easy these days. I personally would put in EOI'S for 190 and 189 and not bother with sponsored or 491. 491 makes it hard for you to buy a house and sponsored route is such a faff and obviously you're tied to an employer for a period of time
  2. Yes, we did not expect this in a million years. The amount of sterling recommendations is what swayed us to go with them. Can I ask what you mean about working with a RMA directly? All the guys at DUC are RMA's including the lady dealing with us
  3. There are countless recommendations across all of the associated Facebook groups. Recommendations for DUC represent the vast majority of all of the recommendations for agents on there. That's why we went with them.
  4. Why would somebody deliberately submit an invalid visa application as a strategy???
  5. Can I ask what you mean by this? The lady that we're working with at DUC is a an RMA
  6. I deffo would not do it with a 491. And I'm reluctant to do it with a 190 but we are getting desperate after everything we've been through so far! It's hard to know whether to trust them or not cos I'm thinking it's best for them to just get a you a visa and get you off their books - making room for more paying customers.
  7. Ah thank you for checking that for me, that's really kind. I'm useless at finding these things out myself. Yeah we want SA or QLD. Our agent is also saying to apply for a 190 for other states and just move to the one you want but I'm a bit worried about this!
  8. Oh my god I hadn't even heard of this I'll have to ask the agent about it. Yeah we're just horrified that it happened and feel so let down.
  9. Do you mean the visa application fee? She said DOHO will return it to us in due course. The agency fee, we were due to pay £600 for the visa application part which we didn't pay anyway due to it being up in the air. They are going to put fresh EOI's in for us free of charge and then conver any state nomination fees too.
  10. Just wanted to update you all that the DOHO finally got back back to us via our agent and have deemed our visa application invalid due to it being submitted 3 minutes late and therefore the date after the EOI expired.
  11. Thank you, We've had something like that from DOHO to acknowledge our application
  12. Yeah, I guessed that. It was definitely 00:03 in Canberra at time of submission
  13. It's not Wes. It's another lady who's lovely but the application was left till the deadline day and subsequently went in 3 minutes late. Just very worried they are going to reject it.
  14. Hi, Our agent submitted our visa application for a 491 SA yesterday. Our EOI invite linked to this and therefore the deadline, expired at midnight (Australian time) 28/6/22 - Which was yesterday afternoon here in UK. Our application was submitted at 00:03 on 29/6/22 Our agent doesn't think this will be a problem. We are obviously very worried. Anyone experienced or heard of this happening before? The agent was obviously cutting it very fine in any case but it would of gone through before midnight ozzy time had Barclays not kept blocking my payment for the visas which obviously eventually went through but took us to 3 mins past midnight. Please advise! Thanks
  15. Hi @Cobs_Ahoy, Thanks for the info! We chickened out and paid the agent to do it for us haha. Just worrying now cos SA want transcripts of uni degree but they don't have them. The uni provided us with a letter to say that the documents were destroyed even they moved buildings years ago. It was enough for ANMAC so hoping it will be enough for SA. Have you had your proper invite yet? Xx
  16. Hello everyone, We received an invite from SA yesterday to apply for state nomination for a 491. Our migration agent wants £600+VAT JUST do complete the state sponsorship for us. We are not well off and are reluctant to part with this money for what seems like a relatively disproportionate amount of work compared to the cost. My question is - is there anyone out there that has done this bit themselves? Was it easy? What does it entail? If there is any level of skill involved we are happy to pay an agent to do it for us as we don't want to take any risks. We are definitely using said agent for the main visa application but just trying to see if we can save a bit of cash by doing the state nomination bit ourselves. Thank you all in advance x
  17. We just got an invite from SA to apply for state nomination
  18. @Cobs_Ahoy yeah I'm a CNS but partner has many moreyears experience than me hence him being main applicant. Yes the agent was an absolute nightmare. They didn't tell us they were going to withdraw our EOI, nor did they tell us when they had. I found out be accident!! And yes when we resubmitted we effectively joined the que again! That's brilliant that the recruitment agent is trying to get you a better deal! Fingers crossed on that! That's another thing that I find confusing - all the diff visas options there are via being employer sponsored. And omg a relocation package! - that's amazing! Sounds like you've got quite a few things in the pipeline - how exciting
  19. @Cobs_Ahoy oh ok, (window) I didn't realise!! We did have an agent (overseas emigration) but they were abysmal so we cut loose from them after EOI's had long been in. They withdrew our EOI's at that point hence us resubmitted them again in oct/nov 2021. We've spoken with the DUC and will instruct them once we have an invite. Maybe I should get in touch with them once QLD reopen for offshore and ask their advice on whether we should resubmit a fresh EOI again. Thank you for the tips with where to look for jobs, that's really helpful Tbh we're not really sure how it's all going to work with him working at the level he is at now. He wants to work speak to aphra about getting 'practitioner ready certified'. I think he's accepted that he may have to potentially work at a lower band equivalent for a while but I think he'll also try and go for jobs that are at practitioner/consultant level also. It's all very confusing if you ask me haha. Do they have better working conditions for MH nurses in Oz? The adult ward nurses here are working in horrendous conditions but I know over there they have it wayyy easier with better staffing ratios and lesser workloads. I still wouldn't want to go back to ward nursing myself though lol. Are you just after QLD?
  20. I don't know of any window? There's nothing on their website that mentions this is there? I don't think we'll put another one in no, my understanding is that it will still be valid even though it was submitted whilst closed to offshore. (Does anyone one of anything to contrary written anywhere??) I think sponsorship is great to look in to at the moment, it's just having the time to trawl through jobs isn't it, that's what we struggle with. We also are not really sure where we're supposed to be looking, apart from seek. He's a cardiac ACP at the mo. What about yourself?
