@Marisawright already been asking! They don’t seem to be offering sponsored visas at the moment in his field and only wanting people who hold a valid visa and rights to work with in Australia. When you look for adverts for sponsored visas it’s mainly nurses at the moment but yet his profile is on seek and he’s had a few employers approach him so you’d think they are clearly crying for his field too but just don’t offer sponsored visas annoyingly!

@Ausvisitor I think it’s the 190 looking at the descriptions but I’m sure my husband said 191. We have applied for the skilled PR state visa for south Australia which ever that one is! He is a specialist class electrician so was on the list. @Marisawright yes we have an agent. When I ask her about updates she just said there is still a big backlog and to wait an information from her. We have done our police certificates twice as the first one ran out but not been instructed to do our medicals again even at the time when I had to take my 4 month old for hers. So was wondering/seeing if anyone else had applied for this visa and what the timeline they are on/have been waiting too!

Hi, We lodged and applied for our visa in December 2022. Just awaiting government decision for skilled191 visa.its annoying as my husband has working offers coming in but cant go for them as we haven’t had our visa granted nor are the jobs offering sponsored visa. We have had a baby in this time and she has been added to the visa and had her medical. What currently is the timing for 191 lodged for south Australia? When I search it just says out of processing time from when I write in the date of lodging. Feels like a life time of waiting! I know our visa was on hold till our daughter was born and medical for her was passed but just feels like it’s still so far away! thanks!

@shaunfreo ahh yes sorry realised I didn’t really put much info! Would be looking not far from Perth CBD more west coast. Maybe Hillarys being the furthest place. So that sort of area and across. We are going for PR so I presume would need to rent first until we have proof of income and then buy. Budget wise I know houses are expensive at the minute so roughly under $1million dollars. My husband is a specialist class electrician so we are actually going on holiday in April to have a look round and see if we can chat about work as I know he’ll need an WA licence so looking at timeline for that etc. but if worst comes to worst he said he will do FIFO

Hello, My husband and I are patiently waiting our visa approval by the government at the very last stage so hoping it will be soon! But we have a 5.5 month old so we are looking at areas and schools. Just wondering if people know the best areas to live for families as well as excellent schools within the area. thanks!

Hello, We have expressed our interest to South Australia for our 190 visa. Does anyone know what the time scale is for SA for invites. Do they do them quarterly or just at random? Many thanks, Rhian

@rammygirl @zena76 ah okay I’ll probably ask when the time comes to getting them booked on in regards them being castrated. We don’t breed with them they both just have a lovely temperament so our vet said well leave them then as it’s not a necessity but it dawned on me that it might be to move! In regards them being microchipping moving from U.K. to Australia do they need to be rechipped? As obviously they are microchipped here in the U.K. but wondered if they need a new one for Australia! All things I don’t know! Sorry!

@Marisawright @Ceebs-x My mother in law used Down under centre and they were very good. The problem is everyone has their own opinions on who to use and who’s the best. Personally I wouldn’t use and Australian based agent after the trouble of communication. You end up emailing and then then don’t get back to you till the following day. Whereas going with who we have now I email I get a reply. I want to call I just call and speak so personally would always go for a U.K one but everyone is different and everyone will have their own opinions! Hope that helps! But now we’re on the right track I’ll probably end the post here! Thanks all!

@Ceebs-x I will say who we are with now as don’t want to bad mouth a company as we are having a chat with the manager with the company we were with about why we’ve left so don’t want to bad mouth as I think it was one agent as the rest were lovely just unfortunate that once they finish one part you get passed to another person to start the next section who just never got back to our emails and questions and misinterpreted information so we will be expressing that one person deals with clients from start to finish. We are now with the Down Under Centre who we’ve been very impressed with and keep the same agent throughout the process and is much easier to talk to as we are on the same time zone! Hope you understand!

Thought I’d let everyone know that we now have a new agent! They said we’ve been told information incorrectly and also been hindered! We now have a U.K agent so easier to communicate! Fingers crossed will all be sorted soon and we can be on our way down under!

Hello quick question as I know the company to go for a quote but not quite there yet to move but I’m wondering prior to us emigrating do we have to neuter our dogs? We have two male border collie half brothers who happily live together and interact with other dogs as well as female dogs. I know they have to have rabies vaccination and up to date with annual boosters but wondered if they are allowed to move with being fully intact. Thank you! (Picture of the boys in question )

Oh sorry I assumed us getting this far we had started our visa and nearly at the end? We are now at the point to express our interest but prior to us doing so we were told QLD weren’t expecting electricians but the assistant didn’t realise we are going as a specialist class electrician which is still on the list but now found out we need 80 points to get in. So now looking for another state and maybe move to QLD once we are in and done our time before we could move across to QLD in X amount of years

Ahhh okay. Not looked there. Yes it’s 80 points to get into now we’ve been told for the 189 now. We could get in on a 491 with the points we have now but would rather go somewhere else on a 189 visa and then maybe look at making the move after the 2 years but again maybe like you and decided we like where ever we go now! We’ve been confirmed that we can go to QLD as specialist class electrician is on the list but points is now 80

@Lavers We have applied for our visa. It’s taken us 18 months to get to this part and it’s pretty much the last part. His done the assessment and we’ve done the police checks. It’s now to express our interest. Although specialist classed electrician is still on the list. I think the lady assigned to collect our list little bits isn’t our original lady and hasn’t clicked on we are applying for specialist class electrician not just general. So we are back and forth about that at the minute

@Lavers Not yet our agent is getting back to us as to where is… 18 months in the making and so close yet still seems so far to finishing to get there!

@Phil1712 @Lavers Apparently Queensland aren’t taking offshore applicants even though electrician is still on the list just not from overseas

@Lavers Our agent who is doing our visa said they aren’t currently accepting so I presume it’s changed and not updated? I’m guessing I’ll just have to wait from them as to where is and how many points we need instead of trying to look myself

@Lavers How can I search this? When I look it’s states electricians on the list. What website or search can I put in to find which states need what… I’m confused!!
