Heya, i am looking for some advise in regards to my partner. We are New Zealand citizens and looking at moving to Brisbane next year, at that time my partner will be in his second year of a building apprenticeship and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge on how this will work? Can he look for work in Aus as a second year apprentice, or would he need to start again? I have tried googling this but can only get information in regards to other immigrants not New Zealanders. Does anyone know how this works? I have emailed an australian apprentice company (unsure what company exactly i should be messaging?) and also his current apprenticeship company but still no reply so thought i would try here. Thank you

Thank you everybody This is going to sound so silly but thought i would just ask, is there heaps snakes and big spiders everywhere or are some places more known for having more than other places. You hear so many stories about snakes and spiders it does make you a bit nervous when you come from a country were the scariest animal that will appear in your house is a cockroach haha. Thank you

@calNgary Thank you for your reply, we are New Zealand citizens so i believe a visa is easy to obtain (still doing more research on this) My biggest stress is making sure we are in a good area for the kids, we have a family member in Gold Coast and in Brisbane, it seems there are more jobs in Brisbane perhaps? Hard to pick a place when you cant go there and have a feel for the place first haha, moving kids can be un settling so would like to move somewhere and stay there for a decent amount of time or not at all so we dont have to move schools again. If you know any suburbs that you know that are great that would be great

Also I have a Diploma in Accounting with a Certificate in Bookeeping, its not a degree but i have a lot of work experience working in my current job, my partner is also a qualified plasterer so we could fall back on that if getting a carpentry job proves to difficult

Sorry should of mentioned we are moving from New Zealand, so visa's should not be to much of an issue as im aware of? unless my information is miss informed? We are New Zealand citizens

Heya I am looking for some advise/feedback in regards to relocating to Australia. We are a family of four with our kids being 7 and 4, my partners is an apprentice carpenter and i work in accounts. We are weighing up between moving to the Gold Coast or Brisbane. Looking for somewhere with good job opportunities but mostly great area for the kids in regards to schools and safety. Moving is a huge and scary decision so trying to do as much research as possible. Any recommendations would be extremely helpful
