  1. I know that some visas were granted some extensions due to Covid but I'm not sure about the 100. Might be worth contacting the authorities and asking for a small extension due to the ridiculously fast turnaround time. How much more time would you want, realistically? Quarantine rules are being relaxed all the time although it's obviously done State by State. Check the latest info here: https://www.health.gov.au/about-us/contact-us/local-state-and-territory-health-departments. We have booked flights for May/June and found that they were similarly priced to the various other visits we've made over the years.
  2. Ha, we had a pretty similar experience with the whole thing turned around in about 6 weeks. Scary eh? You have to 'validate' the visa by 8/11/22 so that can be just a holiday or a fact-finding trip or even just staying for 24 hours if you want but you have to physically enter the country within the next 12 months. Once you've done that you're free to come and go as you please as the visa is active. Good luck!
  3. Thanks Paul, much appreciated. Panic over!
  4. Hi there, hoping someone can advise me on this - apologies if it's been answered elsewhere on here. I live in the UK and have recently had my 100 Partner visa approved and need to validate this within 12 months of issue. Given the current climate, is there a situation whereby I can fly to Australia and get this validated at customs and then turn around and fly home again thus avoiding the quarantine etc.? Would this constitute 'entering the country'?! Appreciate any help or advice on this.
  5. Thank you. My application was processed in London. As a British man married to my Australian wife for 14 years and with 2 children then I suppose our case was fairly straightforward. We didn't use an agent or request any exemptions etc. We submitted as much information as we possibly could up front and were asked to submit police checks and medicals only a month after our initial application. We had no more contact until the Visa came through last week.
  6. Well, I just got my 309 and my 100 granted this morning! That was about 10 weeks from start to finish, yikes. Time to start making plans I guess...
  7. Yeah, think we'll just leave it too. We're not in any mad rush really but would just be nice to be able to make some sort of plan. Good luck with it all.
  8. Hi there, congrats on the visa grant. I see you got the 309 just recently. Did you write a letter requesting the 100 visa in the end or not bother? We're in a similar situation although only a few months in (everything submitted) so I'm just wondering if it's worth doing to see if it speeds things up at all. Really hoping we don't have to wait 16 months for our decision!
