Does anyone know after how many days of appearing for the ceremony can one invite for a passport? I have heard it can be done once the application on immi account turns to finalized. How long does it take from going to approved to finalized? thanks -

Only the approval process sits with federal ... invitation to test and interview and ceremony resides with the individual state.. which is why WA SA TAS have relatively much quicker turn around time -

I personally think I personally think that COVID is a really weak excuse for this... You apply online.. your documents are submitted online, the case officers work online...your approval is done online..even your ceremony is done online... Last I checked, COVID cannot transmit through the internet... The only thing you need to be present for is the interview and the test which if processed for 100 people a day ( not a big deal if you have 5 case officers assigned to this)... And you work for 250 days a year.. that's 25000 people every year so over 2 years would be 50k people.. the number of applicants we see online of 145k would most probably include children as well.. who don't need an interview... Let's say 40k of those are children..that means 100k applications across AU.. and maybe around 30k of whom are in VIC.. Anyways, this is just my theory and I am sure there are many factors involved.. however the govt should explain what exactly is taking so long... People have left behind a lot to reach here and deserve the respect to know why do they have to wait for so long. -

Could you please share links to other expat sites discussing citizenship? I hardly get any SA related news here -
A friend of mine who is scheduled for the ceremony tomorrow was told that it is now going to be a virtual one... don't know if that is good news or bad news for us...

NT and SA are much faster than VIC and NSW But, you have to apply while you are in those two states.. meaning, the address you put in has to be an SA or NT one and the council you choose also has to be an SA or NT one so that it gets processed in their queue... If you applied while in VIC using a vic address and then move to SA or NT, you will have to edit the application .. -

Oh wow! Ceremony invite just 7 days before the event? That's great! You are in QLD right? -
With the current COVID situation in SA, does anyone know if SA is planning to carry out citizenship ceremonies? Has anyone been given an invite for the oath in December? Would be great people from SA can use this thread as our processing times differ vastly to other states... Timeline: Application: 22nd September 2021 Invite for Interview and Test: 14th October 2021 Test Passed: 21st October 2021 Approval: 21st October 2021 (Within an hour) Invitation for Ceremony: ????? Council: Salisbury Council

How many answers were given wrong? If it were just a couple, I have heard cases where they consider... 1. Does your wife's application show as "rejected" on the immi account? 2. Just call the immi office and ask them for options... -

You need to go a bit easy, mate... Every state is different and you having longer processing times does mean others have no right to complain... I applied in September this year and gave my test and received approval in October.. still haven't received the ceremony date and that makes me feel as if it's getting delayed for no reason... And now with Omicorn here, one can expect further delays -

I checked - no invite :( I hope it comes through soon though... wonder if it was the form 1023 which I added due to a minor error I made in the application which is adding the time... *fingers crossed* Did you get your ceremony date yet? -

Awesome! That was pretty quick - we applied on the 22nd of September so hopeful to be invited for the test soon! Your approval was pretty quick as well - may I ask which nationality do you hold? -
Made an error in application - how to rectify?
citseeker replied to citseeker's topic in Citizenship
thank you for your reply - that form says it is specifically for visa applications and passenger card - not for citizenship.. did you use this for to correct errors in your citizenship application? regards -
Hi guys, in the question related to where we have lived in the past 5 years.. I was in UAE from Sept 2016-Arpil 2018 in UAE but by mistake I wrote April 2021 instead of April 2018 - obviously I was not in UAE then, I was in Australia... Is this a major error? Do I need to cancel and redo my application for this? Can I just add a document explaining this and upload it? please help
