    Hi Leni, How is going? We are still waiting for a positive outcome no case officer appointed to my file yet. Now we have been waiting 21 months. How about yours? any news regarding 888 A visa processing?

    Oh really? But I got a good news from one of my family friends yesterday who was in this visa. They got their PR yesterday. She applied on January 2020. They waited 20 months. I’m also applied from the same lawyer. I have been waiting 17 months now. Hopefully by the end of this year according to their results.

    Hi guys, We live in Greater Sydney which is under lockdown right now. If someone who live in this area and who knows about more details of Covid 19 disaster payment (one off $500) please let me know. Does our visa category eligible to get this payment? Here are the requirements need to meet for this payment. I’m not sure about our visa category. ?? You need to meet all the eligibility rules to get the payment. To get it you must meet all of the following: you're an Australian resident or hold an eligible working visa you're 17 years or older you don’t get an income support payment, the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment, a state or territory pandemic payment or a state small business payment for the same period you live or work in a Commonwealth-declared COVID-19 hotspot you had paid employment and because of a COVID-19 lockdown, hotspot or period of restricted movement you can’t attend work on or after day 8 you’ve lost income on or after day 8 and don’t have any appropriate paid leave entitlements you have liquid assets of less than $10,000.

    Hi Steve, 

    We applied for our 888 A visa on last April 2020 . Now we have been waiting for 16th months. But still doesn't have any results. In my immi account I noticed that even my file has not been opened yet as it says the lodged date as last updated date. Any idea of the processing time of this visa category? Department of home affairs said 21-23 months for processing this visa . It's very long waiting period. 

    Our 188 A visa expires on the 14th of September 2021. What will happen next? They said that the bridging visa A will active if our current visa ends before our new application has been finalised. I have two children currently studying two major degrees in Australia. We never expected this visa processing time to be this long. We are currently experiencing very big financial difficulties due to these expenses for my children's degrees. I was hoping to get some advise which could help us ease our situation a bit.

      Hi Shayamali

      I totally agree the processing times are very long indeed. There is little that can be done at the moment. It appears to me,  DHA allocates resources (manpower) to areas which are deemed a priority. My gut feel is that the 188's (provisional) are viewed as a higher priority, in particular, the 188c which I have observed, a notable acceleration in processing times.

      I can offer little advice other than to be patient and hope processing times pick up.

      Is there any news about the processing time of of 888 A visas? We are in 188 A subclass. Applied for PR 18th month ago, April 2020. No any news , even not our file has been opened yet. Department of home affairs recently changed t 26-31 months for processing  for this visa . earlier it was 21-24 months  Why is that? Very disappointed. 

      Any new information about this?

    Hi Alex, thank you for sharing the FOI details of this visa 888 a. Do you have recent records? I mean records in 2021? I have heard that this visa has a fast processing time at this moment? If you know any news regarding this visa process please let us know. I applied April last year 2020. Still waiting and very frustrating

    Hi Leni, what is the latest news about your family friend who is in a long waiting for 22 months? What has happened to their application? still waiting?

    I just completed 12 months after applying 888a . I’m 4 months behind you. another question. Do we have to keep going the business until we granted this visa?

    yes, same here . We applied April 2020. Still waiting . My children are in uni now. It's very frustrating , their course fee are very high.

    Hi I applied my 888a visa last April 2020. It’s been almost 1 year since I lodged my application. But unfortunately the processing time of this visa is so long at the moment. Does anyone recently got this visa? Advice me how long should I have to wait for the outcome? The website says this visa will be delayed in an other year???
