Hi @RebeccaKate84, so I watched the instructional videos and it shows that when you Add Qualifications, on the first page where you choose Country and State, there is also a field that shows Qualification Type. This field is actually MISSING in my account. I can't select a qualification type, hence not allowing me to indicate that I am inserting information for an ITE. I have emailed them, waiting for a response! This is what they show in the video: And this is what I see:

Hi @RebeccaKate84, Thanks for your reply. WA was also my priority but I can't consider it for the same reasons you've mentioned. I am keeping options open for VIC, SA etc. I am still waiting on AITSL, however, decided to start with myVIT today. I have all my documents in order, but the portal won't 'tick-off' (green) my qualifications. Something is definitely wrong with it because I have inserted, checked, deleted and re-inserted my quals several times. I have an Australian 3 year Bachelor degree + and an Australian 1 year Grad Dip Ed teaching qualification (ITE) with supervised teaching practice (which completes the 4 years required). I also have an M.Ed (again, Australian), however, this should not be required. It keeps stating that I need to add more qualifications as it may not be sufficient. I am not getting my green tick!! I wrote to myVIT at least 3 weeks ago to ask about several things, alongside other state bodies. Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland replied back to me albeit after some delay. Tasmania was the quickest (a matter of days). I still have not heard from Victoria. I wonder how long it will take for someone to clarify what I need to do for the above issue. I will try again tomorrow, and if not, will drop them an email. Thanks again

Hi @Snuber and @RebeccaKate84, Wanted to check in to find out where you guys were in your journey. I am also considering VIC for the 190 as a Primary School Teacher. Several agents have mentioned that registration is not required for the skilled migration pathway and that you would need to get it done once in Australia. I was advised that only skills assessment is necessary. Your experience though has given me a wake up call. Any thoughts on this? I didn't realise that VIT registration is required prior to invitation, and while long, I am encouraged to see that it actually did go through and is possible! I will wait for my AITSL to come through first. I look forward to your suggestions. Thank you and hope you are well into your next steps now.

Hi @emwatson, Thank you for taking the time to respond and for encouraging me with your journey. It does seem like a good boost to keep on with the journey. I am right at the start but am keen to try whatever I can. I acknowledge you for your idealism, courage and optimism - your can do attitude has resulted in what you have now, alongside @PositivePixie - Congratulations. The climate is very different now I am sure, however, I will put it out there and see what happens. Thank you for advising me about your school and its expansion plans. Thanks @Arcadia53, did you do with a job specialization under 1343 as ‘Primary School Principal’..? It may be worth considering if your quals and exp is in Primary.

Hello, Looking to learn from all teachers who have dealt with AITSL. I am hearing from many places that the SES from AITSL is not important, and that we can submit our experience documents to immigration as and when we get invited. Can anyone who has gone through the complete process validate this claim please? Thank you and much appreciated.

Hi @Arcadia53, in a similar boat with both principal and teaching experience. Which route did you take? @wrussell - thanks for the input on 134311 - do head teachers / principals really get invited from offshore - without worrying about the job, but purely as a 491/190 pathway, is it worth the trouble..? Or should we just stick to teachers?

Hi @PositivePixie, thank you for your detailed response. I would definitely enter into something new with confidence and optimism. I guess the first step is the migration process which is proving to be quite a challenge now, and I don't know how long it will last for. But once we are in, I am very optimistic about 'making things happen', even if it is in a related occupation. I am pleased that you are enjoying your time in Oz and are content. thank you @emwatson. Will certainly keep this in mind. I know the landscape has changed quite a bit though between then and now. Interestingly, I heard back from SA as I emailed all the state boards and they’ve told me that the training can now be done online. This is all due to COVID of course. So in the interim, it seems more accessible. However, the process is still quite lengthy. Nothings changed there. SA looks like a migration friendly state for educators. I understand that many aren’t painting a pretty picture when it comes to teacher migration. What are your views considering your experience in the past?

Thank you @PositivePixie I completely resonate with you and appreciate your feedback. It has been difficult with agents but I haven’t given up. Thanks for the input on language as well. It definitely seems doable, and hopefully opens up Vic as a possibility. Regarding state registration, I’ve heard people speak of registering prior to visa application which is near impossible for some states. I’ve heard some, including agents, who’ve said it isn’t required. I’ve contacted the registration bodies and all have come back without an answer. Would welcome your thoughts, or anyone that is aware of this. Thanks so much again for your thoughtful response. Much appreciated.

Wow @RebeccaKate84, that certainly took a while! Which visa are you going for..? Are you Primary or Secondary? I am also considering VIC for the 190 as a Primary School Teacher. The 190 has 'teaching a language' requirements which I do qualify for and can prove with a letter from the school. Hi @Ausvisitor - thank you for your contributions above. I have seen that teachers are on the graduate list for WA, however, part of the problem is ensuring that you have a contract when your visa application comes around. Looking at how unpredictable things are, this almost certainly rules out offshore candidates, even though we have graduated from WA. Has WA always had this condition..? Thank you.

Yes, no doubt about that. However, I have previously not been able to get specific responses esp to queries such as the one above, hence the post. Thanks for the advice.

Hi everyone. New here. Have submitted an AITSL assessment for Primary School Teacher. I have read on these forums and everywhere about the lack of invites for the 190, however, the best we can do is try. My degrees and supervised teaching practice are all from Australia so I don’t think I should have any issues there. Regarding migrating with a 190, I can see that the options are quite limited. However, Victoria has some extra conditions of languages associated with it (attached). Does anyone have any experience with this? What sort of documents / qualifications are required to indicate that you have taught in a required language? Also, does anyone have any recommendations of agents that have taken in cases for educators before.. Thank you.
