My understanding is they count time in the country. They will count the time before PR towards Citizenship in the last four years but will not count anytime that you are physically out of the country. If that's what you mean...

Hey guys, I called up (on govt citizenship phone line 131 880) about the slowness of processing in the Sydney office this morning. The gentleman on the phone said that despite the Website informing us that the office has been open for a while, in actual fact it only opened for citizenship tests this past Friday. I’m not sure if he was completely in the know, but I thought I’d pass this info on to you...

i would pay the fine and forget about it.

If you phone the department they can give you the exact date that you will be able to apply. You need to give them your passport number etc. I had to do this as I had so many different trips outside of oz that i couldn't calculate a date.

Hey Guys, I've just hit send my my citizenship application... but then I read this thread and someone has mentioned I should have scanned both sides of my driving licence. I didn't. Does anyone know if this is a problem or will they look past it? Many thanks
