  1. Yer that seems the most simple route. We'll see whether family are enough to tick the "be able to demonstrate substantial ties to Australia that are of benefit to Australia" box you'd hope so .. combined with a solid track record of well paid (well taxed) work.. fingers crossed. Thanks for the direction
  2. Heya I've been living in the UK for around 12 years, recently broke up with my GF of 10 years and am looking to go back to Australia as that's where my parents lived (in their 70s). Dad is British born with an Australian Passport, Mum is German with a permanent residency visa. I was born in Berlin and lived in Australia as a child from 4 to around 24 on a permanent residency visa. For reasons that can only be put down to "stupid young person syndrome" I let my residency laps quite a few years ago. Any thoughts as to where to begin? I spent quite a while reading through the different visas last night and honestly am none the wiser. Couple of things about me - 35 in February - No degree, have been a structural technician for around 15 years - Have a British passport - No criminal record and no dependants Any more info that might be required please just ask, and thank you for taking the time to reply / read. Best, Rob
