Hi All immigration contacted me this morning to advise they are trying to contact my nominating employer; they have had no response from my employer. I think the person who lodged my nomination no longer works for the company and immigration are probably contacting his email address. Any advice?

Hi Michel Congratulations, I hope this is the start of the ball rolling. I submitted Oct 19! Good to see someone from 2019 getting processed. what was your processing centre?

I know it is a very confusing system to try and work out. I hope they are still processing and we hear soon! I rang the general line and they advised I just had to wait until someone picked up the application again.

Hi Ozzy Man Yea I am waiting 8 months - submitted on 1st Oct 2019 There was a 5 month delay in my application as it needed a character assessment but this has been sent back to immigration for processing since May 5th 2020. No further updates; nomination is approved and health checks all completed.

It’s the Visa Application Character Checks Unit; they assess your application if anything is noted on the police checks. My partner had a very minor offence on his police check so the application was sent to them for assessment. It came back okay at the start of the month and I have read people getting their grands within hours.

Just updated, i have had two case officers contact me; one for the s56 further information in Oct and another on 9th Dec to tell me delay in processing due to character checks needed by VACCU.

Hi @restaurant.manager, I’m TRT waiting 7 months. I contacted immigration on Friday and they said there was nothing outstanding I just had to wait until someone picked up the file again and made a decision. My application has been further assessment since December 2019.

@paulhand do you think there will be movement in processing applications that were sent to VACCU while onshore? I am going from 457 to 186 TRT & my application was sent to VACCU on 9th December 2019 for character assessment. I am still in australia atm.

Hi Linda my application has just been sent to VACCU yesterday and I am struggling to figure out time lines. I looks like it may be a long wait. did you have a response from VACCU?

Hi all might seem like a random question, does anyone know, do visa emails only come during office hours?

Hi Bips when I uploaded the documents there was a button online to confirm I had submitted all Documents that were requested. I don’t think you can phone or follow up as the recommended processing times are 6 - 13 months so it’s just a matter or waiting until the time comes. fingers crossed it won’t be much longer

I know it seems to vary from days, to weeks to months I think we just have to wait until the day comes. I’m applying for Youth Work in WA, I was on the old 457 before the changes occurred so I am still able to apply for this occupation.

My visa nomination was submitted end of Sept and approved on 1st Oct then I applied for the visa. My s56 for extra documents (medical and police checks) were requested on 8th Oct. I had medicals and 1 police check uploaded on 14th Oct and was waiting for my partners AFP check which I uploaded on 8th Nov. So about 3 weeks as well and I haven’t heard anything further from immigration.

Hi Milan, I am waiting 3 weeks since I submitted all requested documents. My status is further assessment. I don’t think there is any timeline and it just depends when they view the case and documents again. How long have you been waiting?
