Has anyone had their citizenship ceremony cancelled recently due to COVID? Seems that public events are being cancelled all over. i am having my ceremony on 19/03 and luckily I haven’t heard anything so far. Just worry that they might cancel it

Received an invite on 10/02 for 19th of March regular ceremony

I applied in Perth and been waiting almost 4 months since approval. I contacted my local council in December and last update they received from DIBP was for people who received approval before August. So 5-6 months timeline won't work here. It will be a lot longer then that

Congrats mate! There are some ridiculous delays in WA with arrangement of ceremony. Now wait came for an end for you. Hopefully they will improve timelines in 2020

Both me and my partner have been asked to supply birth certificate at the interview. I requested new one specifically for citizenship application and her parents found her original one. Unsure about school marksheet though... Also, this is what document list sates: Evidence of your birth name, date of birth, gender Full birth certificate with details of parent(s) - commemorative birth certificates not accepted Family registration document with details of parent(s)

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone experiencing significant delays with ceremony. I received my approval on 1st of October and since then I am waiting. I contacted my city council two weeks ago to confirm if they received my information from DIBP and if I can expect to be included in Australian day ceremony. What a shock it was when council replied back and advised that last update they received from DIBP was for people who got approved in August and earlier. Meaning that there is a waiting list of 4 months and DIBP not even bothering to send information to council. Obviously, council advised me to contact Ceremony WA <ceremony.wa@homeaffairs.gov.au>. If anyone tried, you probably saw rudest automatic reply possible. City council: City of Melville in Perth. I was wondering if anyone in Perth is waiting for such a long time for ceremony. their website suggests 5 months from approval to ceremony, but obviously it is not the case here.

Passed Online Status - Approved on 02/10/2019 Date of ceremony: Waiting for any official communication after test Type of ceremony (Urgent/Normal) All good people who patiently waiting for their applications to be approved, I noticed that there is only 1 ceremony left scheduled for this year in my city council which is on 21st of November and I will be away on holidays. Interviewing officer in DIBP made a note when I will be away from country...Does it mean that I won't receive my formal approval and ceremony letter because my city council got nothing scheduled for this year?
