Hi folks! Hope your quarantine went well, Lavers! Just wondering what the cost of hotel quarantining currently is? I will likely be doing it myself in Melbourne in three months time. It will be just me - my partner will be joining me at a later date.

Nursing Agencies in Melbourne Area
Emmadoomers replied to Emmadoomers's topic in Careers and Vacancies
Thanks for the reply Marisa! I have already used a WHV back before I became a nurse. Loved Melbourne and made some great friends so I'm confident i will stay, just thinking of agency for having flexibility to get settled. -
Hi folks, I am a mental health nurse. I am torn between taking a permanent post and going down the agency route when I arrive in Melbourne. Ideally, I would go agency initially to afford me some flexibility and time for fun in building a home in a new place. Does anyone have any insight on good nursing agencies? Looking for a balance of fair pay, good staff support and regular shifts. Many thanks, Emma

190 state sponsorship - help!
Emmadoomers replied to Emmadoomers's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Unfortunately I used my WHV a few years back in an unrelated field. Thanks for your post. Thank you for your reply. I started another thread to see if I could qualify for TSS... I think they look for 2 year's experience also but I've seen positive skills assessments used in lieu of this. -

Temporary Skill Shortage medium stream visa (subclass 482)
Emmadoomers posted a topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hello all, I am a nurse and I writing to see if I qualify for a Medium Stream temporary skill shortage. I have an australian positive skills assessment and interest from an employer (potential for sponsorship is being sought). I have one year's post qualifying experience. I trained in the UK and worked in the field as a band 3 throughout my training. Does my positive skills assessment allow me to be accepted on a TSS visa or do I need another year's experience? Many thanks, Emma- 1 reply

190 state sponsorship - help!

Thank you for your reply. Yes I graduated last year with a bachelor with honours but it was from a UK university. Does that still count? Were you also in that situation? -

Thank you so much for your help. I specifically want to live in Melbourne as I have connections there so it's looking like I will have to wait a year? I did work as a HCA during all of my training, but I doubt that qualifies as relevant work experience? -

Oh and I'm applying to Victoria! -
Hi folks, I am a nurse with one year's post-grad experience. Since successfully submitting an expression of interest to skill select, 65 points 189 and 70 state sponsored, I have been reading about needing 2 year's experience. This did not impede the EOI and I still got the points. I am registered with AHPRA. Has anyone out there been in a similar situation? Any help appreciated! Emma
