Not sure it's the interim card. I've been having endless problems linking Medicare to MyGov too and I'm on a permanent, newly received one. After seven (yes) calls to Medicare, Centrelink and MyGov, who have been ping-ponging me to each other, the explanation seems to be that MyGovID lumps my first and middle name together as a first name while ATO and Medicare keep them separate, so my details do not match when trying to link up. I find it hard to believe that I'm the first guy with a middle name to try to use MyGovID, but that's the best they've come up with so far. Their proposed solution is to NOT use MyGovID and go to a Medicare centre instead to try to sort it out in person (waiting out the lockdown at the moment). So I'd suggest visiting them in person if you can... any phone/online services have been a massive waste of time for me.

Hi all, I was wondering how long does it take to receive your Medicare card after applying for it. Anybody have any insights? I applied online a month ago after obtaining PR, and haven't received any response yet. Just wondering whether it will be a matter of days or a matter of months... Thanks!

Hi all, I am in a funny situation regarding the new rules for partner points. My defacto partner is a NZ citizen who has been working in Australia for several years. She does not have PR, nor does she need or seek it. Her job skills are not in the current list. I seem to be particularly disadvantaged: I cannot claim the max points since I am not single and in a relationship with a non-citizen, however my partner already has all of the PR benefits with her special category visa and does not seek PR. In order to at least claim 5 points, I would have to include her in my application and, if successful, do the paperwork and pay for an expensive visa she does not need or want. Wondering if anyone is anyone in a similar situation? What's your take? Thanks!

Thanks! So, just to make sure, what happens if the 457 Visa is cancelled? This is, my job here is terminated and I cannot find a new sponsor? Am I obliged to leave the country until the 461 visa is processed? Also, would that Bridging Visa A have work rights?

Hello, As the de-facto partner of a NZ citizen residing in Australia, I am considering to start an application for a 461(New Zealand Citizen Family Relationship) visa. I am concerned about the very lengthy period (two years) it takes to be approved. I understand that I will get a bridging visa during this period. Will I have work rights while on this bridging visa? Also, Immi website says that if I apply from Australia I have to be in Australia when they make their decision. What happens if I leave Australia while the visa is being processed? Is the process cancelled? Thanks!

hello, I have currently worked for 2 years on a 4-year 457 visa, and I am considering transferring my visa to a new employer. I have two questions: - Since my visa expires in 05/2020, I will not be able to work for 2 consecutive years for the new employer. In this case, will there be any possibility for this new employer to sponsor me for PR? - After the expiry of this 457 visa (in 05/2020), what are the possibilities to keep working for this new employer? Could they sponsor me for a new 482 visa? And, how long would it be until I am eligible for PR sponsorship? Should I wait 3 new years for PR (until 2023), or would the previous years on the 457 count towards that period? Thanks!!
